making progress on the heroin problem. 41 days since the city banned drugs from city parks. we took another ride along the cherry creek trail to see how many used needles we could find this time. from spear boulevard the first time around we found five needles. a little over a month later we spotted noticed a lot more people on the trail. >> definitely much cleaner, you feel safer. >>reporter: he runs here two or three times a week he has seen a big difference. less people hanging around on the trail, less needles. a lot less now. >>reporter: in september police have issued 23 drug-related citations, banning violators from city parks for 90 days. so for the city says only one targeting homeless individuals that don't have a place to go. >>reporter: advocate say the ban is moving the problem to backyards and other neighborhoods. >> we are just displacing people moving them around town rather than us -- addressing it directly. >> that begs the larger solution. what is the larger effect for six months and could become permanent. new tonight at least five students in the boulder valley school district have been expelled for their involvement in a nazi themed facebook chat group. police found out about the group last month after the student who reportedly started it, killed himself to show his allegiance to the nazi party. partners at the daily camera say it involves
