"we had her since she was a month old." "everybody thinks pit bulls are just so terrible, they're all so mean, and they're not." benson's team has rescued almost 200 pit bulls in the valley. she hopes others will do their research on the dog. "she's just like every other dog, she's no different, just because she's a pit bull." ((michelle mortensen)) >> according to dog bite dot org, last year. 82 percent of those were by pit bulls. pit bulls only make up 6-percent of the dog population. by the way, the dog that killed the child has since been euthanized. it's still unclear if the owner will face criminal charges.
