((23:29:30 entire group: a paul joncich 8 news now./// ((christianne klein)) for tickets to the benefit you can drop a new unwrapped toy at cadillac of las vegas on sahara. or bring a toy valued at 20-dollars or more to the orleans on the night of the big show - friday december 16th./// ((mauricio marin)) six thousand american service members are celebrating thanksgiving in iraq. thanks to the army's cooks... they are still getting a taste of home. cbs' news holly williams spent the holiday with them in they're fresh faced.many of them not long out of high school.and they're america's soldiers in the fight against isisserving with the 101st airborne division here at camp swift in northern iraq. private beam: this is my first time out of the us. it's a long way from home for private first class onae beam - a nineteen year old from fontana, southern california on his first tour of duty. this is my first one - this is my f laughs). you know, i came out of basic, couple of months - air assault school, stuff like that - then straight here you know. private beam and many others at camp swift were children when the us invaded iraq in 2003 - and told us they don't know very much about america's recent history here. but five years after the us said it had left iraq for good - there are now 6 thousand american service members back in the country again. massachusetts is part of the security detail for the senior officers who work in the camp's command center - launching airstrikes on isis. holly: so the idea is that you could give your life to protect senior officers? meehan: yes ma'am. holly: is that scary? meehan: no ma'am - not really. big jobs. resting on very young shoulders. specialist monique frink - a 22 year old from goldsboro, north carolina told us she's thankful to served as a military cook - inspiring her to enlist. and they gave it to me. - and i've loved it ever since. a passion to serve their country - in many different ways - has led them half way across the world, and into the battle to defeat isis extremists. for ctm, hw, camp swift, northern iraq. ((mauricio marin)) there are currently about 600 members of the nevada national guard serving overseas teachers can tell when a student is having trouble at home. but they can't always fix it. luckily, there is a program that picks up on the need, and can fix it... in the home. dave courvoisier shows us how a boys town nevada program is a lifesaver for troubled families. (( )) just write up a referral and send it over to us. teachers aren't prepared to be social workers. they can't go into the homes and help the kids. but we can. we make sure the kids are prepared to come to school and learn and when they're prepared not only are they learning and other siblings are learning but they're not being disruptive in class so all the kids learn. there is no cost to the family when boys town steps in to help , but sometimes, there is reluctance. i think the biggest challenge is like what i just explained is that sometimes the parents are just afraid you know of having someone come into their home and you know r because they think we might call child protective services or you might call immigration on them and have them removed and things like that. but adrian's mom welcomed the chance to learn better parenting, and in doing so give her son the tools to cope. so mom here wanted to help her son and so when we came we just provided skills, resources, and you know support to make her be independent and to make her help him. tomorrow, we'll see how the boys town family counselor works with mother and son to turn things around in the home. ( liz owens / online shopper) would always be the same." and so we gave her a list of items. and at the exact same time-- she looked them up on her computer from her home in southlake we had six other people looking them up same items, same website, same time. and most of the time -- everyone's screen showed the same price but not every time. when owens looked up a night's stay at the caribe royale hotel in orlando on travelocity -- her price? ( liz owens / online shopper) "it is $132." but look at this -- we did the phone and the hotel was listed at $119. out of our group -- two saw $132 -- four - $119. in fact - we found several cases of this on travelocity. the travel website says it sometime does offer lower prices for people who use smartphone. we found something similar when we searched rosetta stone's online language software. shopping on a desktop -- the price was $249 on a mobile device -- $189 -- a 60-dollar difference. think that is shocking. we did the search at the exact same time and i got a much higher price." sometimes it was where you logged on from that made a difference when owens priced this ge 7-foot christmas tree on home depot-dot-com with free home delivery anywhere in the u-s--her price was $399 yet our producers - in boston and minneapolis - saw a price of $438. home depot says sometimes it does offer different online customers different prices -- based on where they log-on -- which it computer's ip address.
