((mauricio marin)) >> a grusesome discovery after a woman finds her roommate shot and killed inside the home they shared. metro police say it happened saturday night just after 7 near eastern and hacienda. morning and tried talking with folks who appeared to live at the house. none wanted to talk on camera. but we saw them taking stuff from the house for part of the morning. ((sharie johnson)) four people have been killed in crashes since saturday morning. three of those incidents... involving alcohol. the most recent happened this morning on i-15 near russell. n-h-p says a lexus was speeding when it lost control and hit a 42-year-old motorcyclist. that rider later died from his injuries. a male passenger was taken to u-m-c for serious injuries. the 29-year-old male driver was arrested suspected of driving impaired. to us about why it's unerving to see october start off this deadly. ((erin breen dir. vulnerable road uses project/unlv "i would use the word terrified to tell you the truth because used to be that august and september where our dealiest months of the year but for the last three years in a row that carnage really started in october and didn't let up until march")) yesterday afternoon a 28-year-old motorcyclist was a factor in two deadly crashes yesterday morning. a man was killed near desert inn and theme road. metro believes the driver was impaired. and a 20-year-old man was killed on owens and h street after running a red light then crashing into a truck. 84 people have died in metro jurisdiction this year. 54 have died in n-h-p's jursidiction.
