((mauricio marin)) in just the last hour even more rain coming down here where we are at. at the top of the mountain behind me...they're expected to see even more snow falling throughout the evening. the weather may be to blame for some problems around the valley. we've recieved reports of lightning hitting a tree at the las vegas country club that may have also caused a fire at a nearby house. for many on the road...this is what it's looked like across southern nevada. roads are sleek and slippery. troopers are urging drivers to slow down on the street to prevent crashes. we drove all around the valley today and saw a few minor accidents with law enforcement respionding. but so far--no reports of any major crashes. mount charleston has been getting fresh snow from this storm. that some kiddos are enjoying. ((mauricio marin)) according to flight aware...it's about an hour delay on average for some flights trying to land or take off from mccarran. so it would be a good idea to check your flight status before heading to the airport. back to you./// ((patranya bhoolsuwan)) > one month into 2016 and we already seeing more traffic deaths than we did this time last year. the most recent happened this morning near camino al norte and lone mountain. north las vegas police say a 44-year old man got off bus and crossed in- front of it. he was then blindsided by another car. he was taken to u-m-c where he later died. the driver stayed on scene and cooperated with police. so far, 20- people have died in a traffic related crash in clark that's 5 more than the where we were this time last year./// ((patranya bhoolsuwan)) > and check out this car sandwich that happened in a smith parking lot near lake mead and rampart. it happened earlier today around nine a-m. witnesses tell us the driver turned into the parking lot too quickly and went up onto the car. fourtuniatly no one was hurt./// ((patranya bhoolsuwan)) a new ambulance company will begin operations in more parts of the valley starting tomorrow. "community ambulance" will begin responding to non-emergency calls first then non-emergency calls on april 1st. earlier this month, the clark county commission approved the company to begin work in about 150 square miles of clark county. this will include mccaran international airport. prior to this, "community ambulance" was licensed to work in henderson, boulder city and federal lands. /// ((patranya bhoolsuwan)) > the college town of blacksburg, virginia is in mourning after police have arrested two promising virginia tech students in connection with her death. brian webb has the latest. >police say david eisenhauer abducted 13 year old nicole lovell and that natalie keepers helped him dispose of the body near a north carolina highway 90 miles from her home.
