((nevada senator michael roberson: so what you'll see over time is a more efficient streamlined central admin with more of the existing dollars going to the schools )) >> next week, 12 lawmakers that create the legislative commission are expected to give the final stamp of approval. it's designed to be in place by next fall./// ((christianne klein)) the southern nevada health department has confirmed a second case of saint louis they tell us the man is 50 years old but doesn't have the more serious form of the disease. the first case that was confirmed last month was also a man... but he had the more serious neuroinvasive form of the illness. his case was the first since in the county since 2007. for a look at the areas where mosquitoes have tested positive for saint louis encephalitis head over to our website... las vegas now dot com./// ((christianne klein)) metro police are investigating two homicides that accidental. that one happened at a park in the 900 block of west lake mead boulevard near m-l-k. when they responded to the call around eight--- they found a man near the basketball courts suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. he was taken to the hospital where he died. police tell us after interviewing the person responsible... it appears the shooting was an accident. charges will be considered by the clark county district attorney in coordination with detectives./// ((christianne klein)) >c person responsible for a shooting in the 400 block of north circle. that's near paradise and twain. police found a man with multiple gunshot wounds in an alley. they ask anyone with information on this shooting to call crime stoppers at the number located at the bottom of your screen./// ((paul joncich)) brock turner has been released from jail. the former-stanford university swimmer sparked a national outcry when he was sentenced to only six months for sexually assaulting an unconscious woman. half that time. 21-year-old brock turner walked out of santa clara county jail friday.. he was released on good behavior - after serving just three months behind bars. that's only half of a six-month sentence already under fire as too lenient. the ex-stanford university swimmer was convicted of sexual assault against an unconscious woman outside a fraternity party in january 2015. the case exploded nationally amid criticism of judge aaron persky's sentencing in the case.. statement from the victim swept through social media. efforts to recall judge persky continue.. he removed himself from hearing criminal cases, starting next week. turner faces three years of supervised probation -- and must register as a sex offender for life. he's said to be heading to dayton, ohio to live with his parents. his lawyers indicate he will appeal his conviction. danielle nottingham, cbs news, los angeles. assembly voted 66-0 to toughen mandatory prison sentences for the same crime. governor jerry brown has not said whether he will sign it./// ((paul joncich)) as a result of the case and his earlier release... dozens showed up to protest outside the san jose, california hall of justice. they're asking for judge persky to be recalled. advocates believe that judge persky has a pattern of bias in favor of those accused of violence against women and say it is very disturbing.
