reopened after a woman was hit by truck while she was jaywalking. several blocks of sunset was closed for several hours while police processed the scene. metro says the call came in around 6-45 and the victim was transported to u-m-c trauma where she was pronounced dead. we're told she was struck in the westbound travel lanes of sunset... and that the male driver of the truck and his female passenger are both cooperating with police. pedestrian is at fault... adding there are not crosswalks near the spot she was hit. also-- police say speed and and alcohol are not a factor.
