We are live on the west coast this morning. And i got to say i love it. I feel like im on the red carpet this morning, surrounding by all this glamour. This is always such a great night. How lucky to be backstage when you see all of these oscar winners at their moment and their most happy and joyful. Theres Eddie Redmayne right there, he was practically giddy. And Julianne Moore, just feel so blessed. We got to see her kiss her husband and wave hi to her kids. Beautiful. They were just but you mentioned the red carpet, it was crowded. It was glamorous and it was a wonderful way to start the oscars there with john legend, his wife, chrissy teigen, and legend and his mom. It was just one of those special moments when people were there with their family and their loved ones and sharing that moment with the world. Nothing was going to let that rain get us down on the red carpet. It really was magical. A dynamite night. Loved talking to Eddie Redmayne, so humble on the red carpet before he won. And Michael Keaton, hes been so grateful. Has never changed that tune. Hes loving the ride. Hes doing just fine this morning. Yeah. And you know all the stars were celebrating into the night. Abc has the story. Reporter this morning as 19yearold erich nowsch heads to court in the road rage shooting death of terry meyers a shocking claim by his attorneys. There was no original road rage situation between tammy meyers and crystal meyers and anybody. Telling abc news his client not tammy meyers may have been the target that night. The facts seem to point to selfdefense in this situation. It seems to explain the facts that we have in front of us more sensibly than any other explanation. Nowschs attorney suspect he has a different story than the one the Meyers Family has been family. Police say it all started when he felt threatened by tammy meyers and her daughter near this parking lot. Then got into a friends audi and followed the car for several blocks. The audi pulled in front of the drivers car and the drive threatening tammy meyers. When she went home and picked up her son armed with a gun and went out to find the audi. When the meyers found the car, nowsch believing he saw a weapon opened fire. Then retrieving back to their home where nowsch opened fire fatally shooting tammy in the head. Her son fired three rounds back at nowsch but did not hit him. Tammys husband bob defending his wife on facebook writing i was married to this woman for 25 years and have never seen her do a thing wrong. Her only downfall in her life was the day she left this earth. Now, to what is being called the american sniper trial. Chris kyles wife widow on the red Carpet Holding her husbands dog tags. We spoke to her about the importance of representing her husband as the prosecution gets set to wrap up its rebuttal in the case. This morning. Taya kyle was the first witness in the real life drama playing out in a texas courtroom. Closing arguments expected this week leaving prosecutors one last chance to prove routh knew what he was doing when he killed chris and his friend at this gun range. Hes pleading not guilty by reason of insanity. The state calling two experts who say routh was not legally insane. He did know what he was doing was wrong and he did it anyway testifies forensic psychologist dr. Randle price. He says the marine veteran led police on the high speed chase is clear evidence he knew he committed a crime. When he was saying he might be insane price says he was faking it. He took home the oscar for the imitation game and he recalled his painful teenage years growing up knowing he was different. Graham moore, the imitation game. For the imitation game screenwriter graham moore winning an oscar was an opportunity to tell his story. When i was 16 years old i tried to kill myself because i felt weird and i felt different and did not belong. For that kid out there who feels like shes weird or shes different or she doesnt fit in anywhere, yes, you do. I promise you do. You do. Stay weird. Stay different. And then when its your turn and youre standing on the stage, please pass the same message. And that message brought everyone to their feet. Stayweird went viral. Viewers weighing in online and some calling it the best speech of the night. You inspired a lot of young men and women tonight with the speech. Did you just want to get it all out . Its not something i said publicly before. But, ever since i was a teenager i imagined if i got to get on tv and Say Something to lots of strangers over the television, thats the thing i would like to say. And it is very overwhelming that tonight was the occasion for that. I remember thinking, like, i could just walk off stage and not do this. Moments like this how often are you on television. You are on television frequently speaking. I will never again be, so i felt i should use my one 45second opportunity to Say Something that meant something to me.
