It is confirmed to be mh 370 and then we can move onto next stage. Reporter while these satellites see something, none of the ships on the water have been able to find debris. The pingers on the black boxes, if they are working, have another 11 days of battery life and then the ticking sound will fade. While the u. S. They were allegedly so drunk that one of them passed out in the hallway of the president s hotel. This happened two days before the president got here. The secret service says that the president s security was never compromised. This is not just this morning. We have to go out west because the big headline out there, that mudslide, this is going to hamper a lot of the efforts. Look at that heavy rain through saturday, six inches or more in parts of southwest oregon. That rain you were just referring to is going to make the recovery effort from that mudslide even harder. At least 24 confirmed dead. That number expected to rise as dozens are unaccounted for. Reporter firefighters say the force of the slide was like a mud tsunami. Its something very personal such as a whole group of little toys that belonged to some little child today sit not guilty a basket. That was a killer. Reporter officials recovered two more bodies tuesday and located another 8 that they havent been able to free yet, bringing the death toll to 24. Its slow going. Watch again as this wall of fire comes crumbling down, barely missing a construction worker and a firefighter. Moments earlier the construction worker seemed doomed, dangling off a fifth floor balcony edge at the luxury apartment complex he was working on erupt into a five alarm fire. He drops to the balcony below only to lose his footing. When we saw his foot slip we thought he was going to be gone. Reporter the man was reportedly about to jump when captain hawthorne emerged on that ladder. That collapse, the final fiery obstacle the duo was escaping in the nick of time before both men made it to safety. It took 200 firefighters to contain the blaze, the cause still under investigation. Incredibly, nobody was hurt. Just amazing. This morning all the construction workers who went into that building are safe and accounted for. Fire officials are looking into reports that flames started on a roof where welding was taking place but the investigation continues. In this job we see a lot of close calls. None closer than that. Police say he got tangled and the two young men apparently plummeting, hitting the ground, rescue crews rushing to help. They landed in a marshy area between the bank or the shore line and the water. Reporter but this little girl paid a big price for her bold move. I couldnt go to school because of my shaved head. I wanted to share my story but they didnt let me. Reporter camerons Colorado School has a dress code in place that says shaved heads are not permitted in order to cut down on distractions and promote safety and uniformity. Initially i was furious but we respect the dress code. We just didnt agree with it. A dozen planes and five ships are now searching the waters today in hopes of tracking down that debris. But so far nothing has been found. I saw it yesterday with a group of people and im telling you, the reaction was just we went to lunch after and thats all that we could do was to talk about it. You played so many different characters. First time playing a biblical character much how do you approach it . Well, you dont really approach it from that perspective. You just try to find the, you know, the humanity in the perpendicular youre playing and bring it down to a human scale. I mean, if you stood back from it and tried to play the resonance of the story i think youd get yourself tangled up, you know. So its just a matter of really looking at the man, looking at the time that he lived in, looking at his relationships with his family and looking at the task this front of him. I want to talk more about it. At the heart of it it is a story of a family. But when you were first approached about this, darron aronofsky, the director, i heard he made you two promises about playing noah. What were they . I think he was trying to find a way of getting into the conversation and indicating to me that, you know, as heavy as the script may be, that, you know, hes a broader person with a full personality sort of thing and to expect from him that we can talk about important things. He said to me, you know, i said title of the film. Dont say anything. Ill make you two promises. Noah, the biblical noah . And he said, yes. Heres the promises. Promise number one youll never be required to wear sandals and promise number two, never at any point will i put you on the bow of a ship flanked by an elephant. Thats a nono. We see we tend to see noah through the eyes of the childrens books, you know, and we think of noah so many people when i was making the movie, oh, youre playing noah, animals. Noah is the last guy left alive and watches the entire population of the planet perish. Theres got to be some steel in noah . That part is great. This is you, noah, explaining to your family what you have been drawn to do. All right. Great flood is coming. The waters of the heavens will meet the waters of the earth. Build a vessel to survive it. Well build an ark. The score, the visuals, so much about the movie and you have have you found yourself having to not just talk about it but to some people who havent even seen it yet that youre having to defend the way that the movie has been definitely. Weve had probably over a year now of very Harsh Criticism from a bunch of people who put their name and stamp on an opinion thats not even based on the movie or seeing the movie, just an assumption of how bad it could be or how wrong it could be in their eyes which, you know, i think, quite frankly, is bordering on absolute stupidity. You know, because now people are seeing the movie and theyre realizing how respectful it is and how potent it is and, look, the great thing about this flip, regardless whether youre somebody of fate or not, as youre experiencing it, you just said a minute ago you come out and want to talk and the subs you want to talk about, our stewardship of the earth, our relationship to animal, what is spirituality, who am i in this world, all these fantastic subjects for conversation, this is a great piece of art, you know, art that can do that for people, its a wonderful hinge. Im sure its part of the reason youre doing what youre doing. Why you wanted to do this. Absolutely. Is to spark we did that and Jennifer Connelly was here last week and you guys you just bring it to a different level and you remind us noah is a family, a family man. Uhhuh. At the end of the day this is a family drama. Yes, exactly. Family drama about a father who is singleminded in the pursuit of a task and the fallout that can happen. Oh, the temptation and theyre telling me to go. I know you met the pope. I wanted to know your reaction because josh and i had the privilege of being there in the audience. This is something about the pope which look, i think considering the controversy surrounding this movie, it would have been so easy for the vatican to rescind that invitation and just let it be that way, but the kindness to actually let the invitation stand, you know, i thought it was just so consistent with who hes been im not catholic and ive never felt any connection with any previous pope but i really like this guy. I like what he says and as we were talking about before, the cameras came on. Hes changing the tone of the way you regard the pope and i think its i think its a magnificent thing and i was really privileged and humbled to be in that environment. Echo your sentiments. Hes larger than life, violent but poetic and so the look was i dont know, getting the look right was sort of making sure he was believable that hed seen some days. He had lived some life. And to get the look, youre an exercise enthusiast. To get the look you decided to get that look you had to go for it so what did you do . You know, richard shepherd, the writer and director talked about dons lifestyle, 1 years in prison and the excess and what he enjoys and so we just had a summer, you know, saying yes to everything. You had a prosthetic broken nose which sounds painful. Yeah, Little Things here and there we tweaked with. And the teeth. The teeth were caps and wearing something up my nose so it makes me look like ive got a broken nose. None of it took too long and make sure i could get in and out of the makeup chair quickly. For the teeth, i understand you had a properly burial living as don for three, four months i loved him and i hope other people love him too but i put him in a box.
