well, good wednesday morning to you. hillary clinton appears to have done little to convince critics about her use of private e-mails as secretary of state. >> yeah, addressing the issue for the first time, clinton claims it was simpler to use one device instead of two. >> and she admits to deleting e-mails from her private account but only e-mails about personal matters like yoga and her daughter's wedding. with the latest we're joined by abc's bazi kanani in washington. hi, bazi. >> reporter: good morning, reena. good morning, t.j. in the weeks since this story first broke, it's become clear it is not going to fade away on its own. hillary clinton's response was careful and ignited critics. in her first public comments about her exclusive use of a personal e-mail account for government business, hillary clinton conceded one point. >> looking back, it would have been better for me to use two separate phones and two e-mail accounts. i thought using one device would be simpler, and obviously it hasn't worked out that way. >> reporter: but the former secretary of state defended herself against accusations of violating the law. >> i fully complied with every rule that i was governed by. >> reporter: insisting that she never e-mailed classified information and that the 55,000 pages of e-mails she turned over to the state department include all those related to official business only withholding or deleting those that were purely personal. >> no one wants their personal e-mails made public, and i think most people understand that and respect that privacy. >> reporter: republican critics remain skeptical. >> if she wants somebody to show her how to put two e-mail accounts on one phone, i am happy to do it because even i managed to figure out how to do that. >> reporter: and analysts believe the issue will follow her throughout an expected run for president. >> this underscores a story line that has long been difficult for the clintons, that there always seem to be some drama. there always seems to be something, the idea that she needed special rules for her own e-mail. >> reporter: clinton said the server in her chappaqua home containing personal e-mail will remain private. her critics allege a lack of transparency and point out that there is no way for anyone to know for sure what e-mails she deleted. reena, t.j. >> bazi kanani live for us in washington. bazi, thank you, as always. hillary clinton is also leading the democrats' counterattack on the iran nuclear negotiations. they're objecting to a letter signed by dozens of senate republicans warning iran that any deal with a republican administration could be temporary without congressional action. the next president could overturn it. democrats say the letter undercuts the administration at the bargaining table. >> the recent letter from republican senators was out of step with the best traditions of american leadership, and one has to ask, what was the purpose of this letter? >> we're simply trying to say that congress has a constitutional role to approve any deal to make sure that iran never gets a nuclear weapon. >> tom cotton there, first term senator from arkansas, wrote the letter. gop leaders say president obama is going against a bipartisan tradition on foreign policy by not including congress in the talks. breaking news from florida where seven
