Also a lot of cloud cover were looking at from live doppler 7 and there has been some showers, some mist, some drizzle and pretty low visibility. Were taking you down to santa cruz where it is 56 degrees, going for a high today in the upper 60s with a little more sunshine in the south and also the central coast. 59 in the city, its 57 in gilroy with 60 in mountain view. And from emeryville its a gray start. Youve had some mist and drizzle in your neighborhood around emeryville and el cerrito. 64 by the delta and 59 in livermore. With the fog visibility just over a mile at the coast. Also oakland has been an issue. Your forecast then calls for temperatures to be in the 50s and 60s the next few hours. Well get to partly to mostly cloudy conditions by noon time. More sunshine for you in the east bay valleys. The south bay climbing to near 70, but well talk about that earlier sunset, 5 05, and when and how much its going to warm up throughout the week ahead coming up. Carolyn. Lisa, thank you. We begin with developing news out of San Francisco. Police are investigating the death of a man who was hit by a car at market and dolores streets. It happened last night just before 11 00. Witnesses say the victim was on an island, not on the crosswalk when he was hit and had a cane and roller bag with him. He died at the scene despite efforts byeb bystanders to rev him. The driver is cooperating with police. We have developing news out of walnut creek. Police have arrested a man believed to be involved in a possible shooting on 680 near sunol. Our media partner, the east bay times reports the man was surrounded in the walnut creek b. A. R. T. Station after leading police on a chase through pleasanton, san ramon and danville. Traffic was at a standstill in the area for hours. Officers were investigating the report of the freeway shooting when they spotted the adding gunman. On the campaign trail, donald trump was rushed offstage in reno last night. The secret service claimed someone shouted gun at the rally. They arrested a man but found no weapon. He was released and not charged. He later told an abc affiliate in las vegas that he had a republicans against trump sign and people started attacking him before trump was led off. It was a chaotic end to a very long day for both candidates. Abc News ReporterJonathan Betts has the latest from the campaign trail. Reporter donald trump was speaking in reno, nevada, when he took note of an apparent protester in the audience. We have one of those guys from the Hillary Clinton campaign. Reporter then suddenly his secret Service Detail sprang to his side and rushed the candidate off the stage. There was a commotion in the crowd in front of the podium. Security took a man into custody and escorted him out of the hall. Minutes later, trump returned unhurt. Nobody said it was going to be easy for us. I was a republican supporter through the primaries, and i have donated money to the Hillary ClintonCampaign Recently because i think that trump is a disaster for the country. He says he has already voted and he voted for Hillary Clinton. The latest abc news poll released last night shows Hillary Clinton now five points ahead of donald trump. Its her largest lead since trump made a late october surge. The lines were long for early voting yesterday. Abc 7 news was at the registrar of Voters Office in san jose where people waited up to a half an hour just to get a ballot. This is one of six Early Voting Centers in santa clara county. Bay area Election Officials are telling voters not to worry when they cast their ballots. California is one of the few states immune to cyber attempts to create confusion on election day. Abc 7 News Reporter lisa galesian explains. Reporter in San Franciscos department of elections, ballots are being sorted and the timeconsuming process of manually organizing ballots is under way. The paper trail is long and purposeful in this elections office. We take any questions or concerns about voting integrity very seriously. Reporter a Gallup Survey in august showed 36 of americans felt voter fraud would most likely be a major problem this election, and just 43 had a, quote, great deal of confidence that their vote would be counted correctly. The reality is just two states recently had their voting systems hacked. Not in california where paper ballots are used. There is no possible way for our results to be hacked. Reporter nothing in the voting booth is attached to the internet, but some fear state websites or even unofficial Election Night numbers could be compromised, thus leading voters to distrust the system. Im not worried about in San Francisco. But maybe in other parts of the country there may be possibilities, yeah. More news now, new details on a man who was killed and buried in a shallow grave at sonoma state university. The Sonoma CountySheriffs Office says 18yearold Kirk Kimberly had been stabbed multiple times. A landscaper found his body last wednesday buried next to a parking lot. Detectives dont believe this was a random act of violence. They also say it had nothing to do with the university or its students. Alameda county officers remembered one of their own last night. Sheriffs Office Explorer carla ramirezsegoviano was found dead thursday at a royal viejo park in oakland. Its the first time the Explorers Program has lost someone. Reporter for carla ramirezsegovianos family, this was an emotional event. It was put together by her fellow Sheriffs Department explorers. Many of them trying to understand what happened. We are all still in shock. Karla is one of the more squared away people i knew. Reporter the group lined up to offer their condolences to karlas parents. After such a difficult couple of days, her family welcomed the event. We appreciate the support and we just thank you for being here for us. Thank you very much. Reporter the 21yearold went missing wednesday night. Her body was found at a royal viejo park thursday in oakland. On friday, Oakland Police investigators announced they had detained two people in connection to her brutal murder. She had been beaten, stabbed and burned. Investigators wouldnt give details about a motive behind the crime. From what i can tell right now, this is a personal matter. Reporter the Alameda CountyDistrict Attorneys Office has not released the names of the two suspects in this case, but we talked with a guy who used to work with karla at an oakland fast food restaurant. He also knows one of the accused. I know the girl actually. She used to work with us at kfc. It kind of shocks me because how can a coworker do that to another coworker. Reporter he tells us the woman is named laura rogers. According to the Sheriffs Department, shes been booked into the santa rita jail charged with murder. Happening now, lots of runners are racing right now in the golden gate half marathon. The 13. 3 mile race began at the muni pier near aquatic park. Runners are winding their way over the Golden Gate Bridge to the Marin Headlands, then they will come back over the bridge to return to aquatic park. Lets take a live look right now from our Golden Gate Bridge camera. Last year over 3700 runners took part in the race. It started at 7 00 this morning and the course is open until 10 00. You see a few people there. I dont know, maybe most of them have started to finish up, lisa. Yeah, maybe. The weather, they like it, its probably cool. It is cool there, but its a little more muggy across the Golden Gate Bridge. They have had more moisture. You picked up a couple onehundredths but right now were looking at low 60s in hayward and oakland. Its foggy. Theres even some mist and drizzle, but things will begin to turn around later on today. Slow clearing. Ill detail it for you coming up. Also ahead, a dog found burned to death. Now police may be looking for a serial dog killer. And the raiders play one of their biggest games in years at the coliseum this afternoon. The message fans hope to send to the teams owner. A woman who drowned friday in the Russian River is a longtime former perki lberkele teacher. Skypeyearold heidi boley was canoeing with two friends when her boat overturned. She disappeared as her friends swam to shore. Rescuers found her a short time later, but they were unable to revive her. She taught math decades and recently worked parttime for the district. Now to a shocking find just outside of fresno. A couple saw multiple burned animal remains dumped on the side of the road. Reporter cory james from our sister station found out this is not the first time they have made this type of disturbing discovery. Its heartbreaking to see in person. Reporter the photos too graphic to show you without blurring part of the picture, but Yvonne Wilson is looking at a dog she found friday burned on the side of the road. You could you could still , you could still see the bone structures. It was obviously a small dog, but it had been badly burned. Reporter it was found feet away from the train tracks near avenue 15 and santa fe drive saturday. Even evidence of what was likely used to scorch it was left behind. In fact there was several, maybe about five or six butane cans just spread out over the entire scene. You know right away that, okay, this wasnt an accident. You dont do that. Its not an accident. Butane cans dont just show up in an area. Reporter yvonne and her husband, casey, say it was not just one dog they found. There were multiple burned animal skeleton remains, all stretched out along this half mile stretch of road. The other ones were unrecognizable. They were just bones. You could see like some paws, like some heads, like goat skulls. Reporter last year the couple took these photos of a very similar scene. So for them seeing it again raises questions and concerns. Literally they are being tortured, they are being harmed in such a way thats brutal and that needs justice for. Its very disheartening to see the same thing a year later identical. Dramatic video from the chp shows firefighters rescuing two people and a dog trapped 80 feet down the side of a cliff. It happened at rodeo beach in the Marin Headlands yesterday afternoon. The dog fell off the cliff first and then the owner and a Good Samaritan went after him but got stuck. Firefighters hoisted them up one by one into a chp helicopter. I am just incredibly grateful and so glad that i got out of it and that everybody got out of it. The dog named pancake went to the vet with some minor scrapes and bumps. Happening today, some raiders fans plan to send a message to Team Owner Mark Davis during tonights game. The message stay in oakland, dont go to las vegas. Davis has made it clear hes moving to nevada unless he finds a better deal. Fans will be handing out 10,000 signs that say stay in oakland and flying a banner over the coliseum as well. This month is military appreciation month. And happening today, the 20th annual trivalley veterans parade in pleasanton. Abc 7 news was there last year as the parade moved along main street. Organizers hold it about a week before veterans day so local vets can take part in other tributes. This fridays federal holiday honors all americans who have served in the military. You probably missed it but we are still looking at the effects of the cloud cover, the fog and the drizzle with a mile and a half visibility in oakland, Half Moon Bay is improving but a live look outside, sfo delays of over an hour here. So youre definitely going to want to check in with your air carrier. 58 in gilroy. The drier air has been in the south bay, the moister air, San Francisco, points north. Oakland in between with 61 degrees so it almost feels muggy out there. Check out mt. Tam and it is gray and misty there. 63 in napa, 59 in santa rosa, 59 in livermore. With the cloud cover that weak frontal band really allows for temperatures to stay up. In fact we are much warmer than we were yesterday. 7 to 9 degrees warmer for concord and fairfield. A final look at this is san jose where it was sunnier this morning, but well get into some sunshine this afternoon. So this morning pretty gray. The clouds will be slow to clear. Well get some sun in the east bay, the south bay, but tomorrow much, much sunnier. High pressure builds in from the southwest and its going to be a dry pretty goodlooking week ahead. Until 2 00 p. M. The National Weather service has extended their high surf advisory. Heres why. 12 to 17foot waves here, so still very dangerous. Hour by hour, check it out, maybe an isolated shower. Here we are noon time and the clouds really dont want to go anywhere. Well get a few breaks here and there, but that sun setting tonight at 5 05. It will be partly to mostly cloudy. With temperatures held down a bit due to the clouds, well see low 60s at the coast, 70 today for you in concord and san jose, 65 San Francisco, richmond and santa rosa. If youre headed down to santa clara, a chance youll see some sun but also cloud cover with 70 there. 68 by about 4 00 in the afternoon. Over in oakland, 5 30 starts out mild at 63.
