All the temperatures, though, they are going to warm up into the mid60s later on this afternoon. A look from our east bay hills camera. Our first forecast is patchy low clouds and fogs will burn off and mostly sunshine and light winds later on today and a dry and mild forecast the rest of the week. Carolyn. Thank you,ly law. Developing news in the east bay where police are investigating a shooting on the freeing this morning thats injured at least two people. A red dads lack escalade s. U. V. With four people inside was coming from an oakland club around 2 45 this morning heading westbound on 580 near mcarthur boulevard when a car came up alongside. Witnesses say a car came alongside it and the passenger in the second car opened up fire, hitting the escalate several times. Another person was also taken to the hospital but the injuries are not serious. No word yet on a motive or suspects. In developing news this morning, a man is in Critical Condition in i. C. U. With a skull fracture. This morning after being attacked in petaluma. It happened just after 7 00 last night on park lane and mcgregor avenue. Police say a man was crossing the street when he was almost hit by a car. He exchanged words with the man in the consider and at one point one of the people got out of the car hitting the man with a pipelike object. The suspect then took off in the car. Described as a late 80s or early 90s dark fourdoor sedan. A bedside vigil continues through a second week. It is for the 13yearold oakland girl declared brain dead of a surgery. Now her grieving mother has written a heartbreaking letter. The letter was released yesterday. We have the latest developments in this picture Nailah Winkfield holds for 13yearold daughters hand as she remains on a ventilator in oakland. Thats at Childrens Hospital. She writes, they have been pressuring me to pull the plug. I cant. I wont. I cant let them kill my baby a second time. This is the latest effort to keep pressure on Childrens Hospital. Jaw hills uncle said Community Supporters brought this beener and had them sign it in the lobby. I want to thank everyone showing their love and support. Friday the family got a temporary restraining Order Granting a temporary review of her condition. An independent review. In her letter she writes, i never thought i would have to go to court to get a hospital to treat my child. The family will return to court monday as part of the order. While thats happening, there will be a march at Childrens Hospital. Jahis favorite color is purple, so if you come out wearing a purple shirt, doesnt matter what the shade is, but if you have a purple shirt please wear it and march with us monday morning. Jahi was declared brain dead last week. The chief of pediatrics released a response to the letter. He writes in part, as medical professionals, it is our responsibility to ensure that we dont create hope where there is none when ones brain ceases to function and never restarts. A man reported missing in the east bay has been found. Terrence campbell had been missing since 1 00 yesterday afternoon in walnut creek. According to authorities he was out taking a walk near a Buckingham Court and may have become disoriented or lost. Police say campbell is visiting family and is originally from australia. Again, he has been found. Retailers are hustling to attract liftminute christmas shoppers. Yesterday was Super Saturday for many of them. One of the busiest shopping days of the year. To entice more customers, many stores offered deep discounts and extended their hours. Some, including macys, kmart and kohls and toysrus are staying open around the clock through Christmas Eve. When you work two jobs, it just makes it so much more convenience. And i actually have like that one hour time to go shopping. Sales numbers for the past few weeks have been weak. They rose 2 from november 1st through last sunday, according to shopper track. Target is trying to make amends following the massive credit card breach. Thieves swiped information from more than 40 million target customers who shopped at the 50 stores in the bay area and 1800 nationwide. The shopping breach was between november 27th and december 15th. The retail giant is offering a 10 discount to shoppers this weekend and free fraud monitoring to customers who had their information exposed. Jp morganchase is taking their own precautions following the target breach. The bank will limit the use of debit cards for atrisk customers. Atm withdrawals are temporarily limited to 100 a day. Purchased are limited to 300 a day. And users will not be able to withdraw cash at atms outside the u. S. Police have stumbled upon a marijuana grow operation in the middle of the mission district. Lisa amin gulezian has the details. Reporter inside each of these burlap sacks, a marijuana plant. 200 in all. They are secured as evidence of an illegal grow operation that went unnoticed for months. I did heard some steps, but i had no idea who was the one. The owner of this auto body and painting moved into his space earlier this month. He was told there were no other tenants in the entire building. So he ignored the random noises he occasionally heard coming from up above. But there is no ignoring the fire potentially sparked by these grow lamps. Firefighters quickly realized the situation as soon as they got through the front door. They entered a maze of false walls, sectionedoff rooms and rows and rows of pot plants. Everything was encased in thick sheets of plastic. They wrapped the building with a lot of plastic to minimize the smell coming out of the building and it keeps the room warm, but there is also the potential for an accident to take place in there. Those who live nearby are angry. We live here. There are three generations of my family here, and we definitely want to keep it from this kind of people. The buildings owner hasnt had a second floor tenant for months. Investigators are sure whoever was illegally using the space wasnt living there, but simply using it to grow pot. Officer brian tavero was killed in 2006 in the sunset district by an escapee from a state correctional work camp. Another officer opened fire, killing ruff a short time later. As the deadline to enroll for Health Insurance looms, covered california, the states Health Insurance exchange, will have extended hours today to help consumers enroll. A tragic development from the shooting out of a suburban Denver High School earlier this month. 17yearold clair davis, the teenager shot during the rampage, died yesterday. Shed been in Critical Condition since the december 13th attack. 18yearold karl pearson shot davis pointblank in the head before killing himself. Last week a federal judge declared the nsa Data Collection program likely unconstitution until. A president ial Advisory Panel has suggested dozens of changes to nsa operations. Today on this week Michigan Republican mike rogers of the House Intelligence Committee said the panels suggestions are not necessarily a blow to the nsa. Think about where we are and what the panel did, which was dominated by law professors. They basically said the information is important, but where we keep it may be up for debate. So thats an important, i think a very important milestone for those that saw it as devastating to the nsa. I basically disagree. What they said is this information is a vital part of our counterterrorism effort. The Advisory Panel recommended requiring a court order for each nsa search of the phone records database, and keeping that database in the hands of a third party, not the government. It will be the red and golds last game at Candlestick Park but its not over until its over, and as Katie Marzullo explains, the stadium crews are going about preparations as usual. It will be on display through the end of the the month. On the east coast more than 95,000 customers are without power this morning as a strong winter storm sweeps through. The Winter Weather is making the holiday get away just downright miserable for millions of people across a large chunk of the country. Abcs alex perez has the story from chicago. Rack after rack, the massive storm creating a nightmare during the busy Holiday Travel weekend. Rain lead to go a dangerous glaze of ice across the central part of the country. Parents along the storms path, crews working nonstop to deice planes. In bart elseville, oklahoma, look closely. The rain even freezing on this birds feathers. The ice buildup so thick, trees snapped and crumbled under its weight. The trees are coming down pretty quick. And threatening homes. It crashed and hit the house. In kansas, many cars ended up upside down. Some even stranded. The pickup truck slid off the highway, killing the driver. In amarillo and other parts of texas, First Responders struggled just to keep up with the crashes. Treacherous Road Conditions in vermont caused this roll over on i89 and nice michigan, thick enough to cover this car window. And its not just snow and ice. Overnight the storm spawning possible tornado in arkansas, causing this 18wheeler to overturn in west memphis and destroying at least eight homes in chico and flooding entire neighborhoods. Now much of the ice, snow and rain will be moving east and here in the midwest temperatures are expected to plunge tonight. Alex perez, abc news, chicago. Oh, the sight of that bird with frozen feathers, so sad. It really is. Weve had chilly nights, but definite will mild, mild days. We certainly have. I think we are the envy of the rest of the country this week. Wety a live look outside. This is a look from the mt. Tam camera. It kind of says it all. We are waking up to some hazy sunshine. We have patchy fog in some areas, but we are going to look at a really mild day today and a mild week ahead for christmas. As we take a look at live doppler 7hd, not tracking any returns right now. Thats bus we just dont have any moisture in our forecast. Its all being kept well to the north of us, in fact this is what is happening. We have the ridge of High Pressure thats blocking all the cooler weather to the north of us. We will see a weaker weather system coming in later on this week, but really its not Strong Enough to bring us any rain whatsoever. So question are actually going to be finishing on a very dry note as compared to the rest of the country. Take a look at this. Snow in chicago as we were just looking at those amazing pictures. In the south we do have a threat of some thunderstorms, flash flooding and freezing rain as we make that trek up north in the atlantic northeast there. So very different from what we are experiencing here in california. Mostly sunshine. A little built of cloud cover north of us. In chico, 49 degrees. Freezing fog overnight. But 52 degrees in yosemite. Warm, 7 to degrees in los angeles. And here at home its going to be really comfortable. We are going to be in the lower to mid60s in the south bay along the peninsula. In the mid60s, cooler on the coast. And 61 in San Francisco, the north bay some of our warmest temperatures out here, 67 degrees in cloverdale, 66 in santa rosa, 65 in calistoga. Under lots of sunshine there. 65 in oakland and a little bit farther inland, 63 in pittsburgh and 62 pleasanton, 62 in brentwood and 64 in livermore. Our overnight lows, its going to be chilly. We arent going to have any cloud cover so the air is going to be rather crisp. We are seeing about upper 30s in the north by. A little warmer in San Francisco at 48 degrees. Lower 40s at you move down the peninsula and into the south bay. Also some chilly conditions in the east bay, as well. And, of course, we have a big game tomorrow. We have a grit forecast for you. Mild conditions once again. We saw some folks in those pictures bundled up in their 49ers gear. You are not really going to need t maybe a light sweater or jackets. 56 degrees will get you going and by the end of the game 55 degrees. Heres a look at the accuweather sevenday forecast.
