another place to live. fire crews responded to calls at 2:15 this morning. the flames were visible from about a half mile away. a number of trees were also on fire. this was a tough one. took crews about 30 minutes to knock down the flames. there are initial reports that fireworks may have caused the fire. the red cross the helping the displaced residents. six adults and four children. news out of concord where authorities say a child was killed in a violent hit and crash on highway 4. it happened in the eastbound lanes east of solano way. the on ramp is closed. the vehicle was hit with such force with one flipped over. chp is still looking for the suspect who left the scene. developing news in arkansas where police are investigating a sooting at a nightclub where 17 were shot. it was around 2:30 local time when somebody began shooting inside the power lounlg inially l rock. all the victims are alive. early reports say the shooting was the result of an argument that started at a concert. witnesses say shots came from the crowd and from the stage. there's no word yet on the fate of the shooter. holiday weekend is here and with it comes a warning for all boaters on the bay. be a federal crime to harass a marine animal. abc 7 news. just a few days before the fourth of july, the fireworks black market is booming and authorities are busy. the sheriff's office is adding up tens of thousands of dollars in illegal fireworks following two large busts. in one case depp says say a teen was making his own fireworks to sell. katie has details. >> a bomb squad technician enters a concerns about law enforcement. some belief the sheriff is criminalizing the immigrant community. alameda county is considered a sang sanctuary county, but they have come under fire. >> a conversation is nice, but we need policy. we need real action. especially when our communities are living in fear in this political climate. >> doesn't mandate that we comply to receive the funding we receive. a sheriff's spokesman insists -- a small percentage of inmates. police in fremont are trying to find out if the driver who died in this crash was using alcohol or drugs. they say yesterday afternoon, the 24-year-old man was speeding, when he lost control, crossed the center line and his truck slammed into a car. the woman inside survived without major injuries. traffic is flowing once again on a busy southern california freeway after a small plane crash. the pilot had just taken off from john wayne airport when he declared an morning and tried to return, but crashed an the plane burst into flames. an off duty firefighter saw it all happen and stopped to help. >> i wasn't even think about my own safety. i was able to get the wife back to the median and help the husband, drag him out of the plane. >> one car on the freeway was clipped by the plane, but no one else was hurt. the freeway was closed for more than seven hours. time now is 8:08. one of the popular destinations this california are going up, which means the price you pay will rise. beginning today, tax rates on tobacco products other than cigarettes are going up almost 40%, more than double u the current amount. it's dictate by prop 6 passed last november. today, taxes rise to 67 on smokeless tobacco, snuff and e cigarettes. taxes increased in april. san francisco just became a more expensive place to live because the cost of garbage pick up is going up. beginning today, rates are 14% higher than yesterday. the cost to you is this for an average single family with three bin, garbage pick up is now $40 a month. the increase reflects the risings of collecting and processing waste in something else going up today is the minimum wage in a dwroeing city. several cities. in san jose, the city's most paid workers will see their hourly wage jump from 10.50 to $12 an hour. san francisco's will hit 15 next year. california's statewide minimum wage is just 10.50 an hour. it is scheduled to reach $15 an hour by 2022. critics say wage hikes often lead to hiring freezes and cutting work hours. your monday morning commute could be more expensive. ferry prices are going up. the san francisco bay ferry, which connects passengers with san francisco, south san francisco, oakland, alameda is in the third year of a five-year fare increase. prices are going 3 to 5%. the ferry schedules are also changing slightly. and on the golden gate ferry, which runs between the city and tib ron, ferry prices will rise as much as 50 cents. bus fares are also rising. for a complete list, just go to our website. encounters between coyotes and dogs are on the rise, but now, experts say a new tracking program is working to keep people and pets safe in the park. kate larson was in the presidio with a look at how that works. >> never been seen images of coyotes. all part of the new monitoring program jonathan young, the wildlife expert, has been using to track the population for the past year. >> trying to understand these animals. their movements, their use of the park. how many are here. >> a big reason, increased concern about cog and coyote interactions. they've had several dozen reports of encounters this spring and summer. >> this is a big dog and he was chased just last month, actually. >> amy porter is a dog walker. she and her clients frequently see coyotes. >> we're seeing a lot more of them. >> coyote pupping season is april through august september. a time when the coyote parents are extra protective of their new pups. seen here in photos that cameras snapped just a few weeks ago. >> the coyote's parental protective behavior overrides their fear of people trying to scare it away because the coyote just wants the dog away from the pups. >> young is using gps monitoring to learn where the coyotes spend time. that information allows them to close parts of the presidio near areas they frequent like trails which closed to dogs this month. >> that created a buffer from are where the. s were to where the dogs were and conflict subsided. >> the monitoring shows many of the coyotes leave, like this 1-year-old that was hit by a car and killed on 280 in sunny dale last year. good morning. here's what you can expect today. we have foggy areas with some patchy drizzle this morning. cool to warm temperatures through the weekend and in a summer like pattern lunchtime, most of us under sunshine, not complete clearing at the coast and some beach, but elsewhere, it will be summer like. temperatures will range from 60 in half moon bay with very breezy conditions, winds at about 20 to 30 miles per hour. san francisco, 64 degrees. ok oakland, 68 degrees. and some of our warmer inland locations will top out at 88 degrees and of course, if we head farther north, we could see a few low 90s as well. through cloverdale and lake port. if you're headed to the marin county fair, you'll need s sunglasses and sunscreen. by noon, temperatures will be b in the 70s. it will climb to near 80 degrees for the afternoon hours. grab a jacket if if you're going stay through the whole evening with clear skies tonight, temperatures will be cooling down into the 50s. a lot of stuff going on all around the bay area. and in san francisco, there's the jazz festival, but you'll need a jacket here because of the breeze temperatures are going to stay in the mid 60s today and tomorrow, could be milder. we'll have the fog in the morning and that will keep things cool and lows will be in the 50s. here's the fourth of july 12 hour planner. so we are going to see the typical summer like patterns, so we wake up on tuesday to some coastal fog and clouds that continue during the morning hours. sunny for most areas into the afternoon. clear inland by the evening with temperatures in the 80s for inland areas and look for 70s around the bay at the coast. temperatures are going to hover near 60s for highs all week long. and then, 10:00 at night, that's when the clouds and fog return. especially to the beaches and possibly around parts of the bay. so be keeping track of that for viewing fireworks, especially in san francisco. here's a look at the seven day forecast. so, we've got more average temperatures today, afternoon sunshine for everyone with the exception of a few spots along the coast. going to be warmer tomorrow. mild to warm again on monday. fourth of july temperatures come down a bit and see the fog once again in the morning returning at night, so we'll stay on top of that. slightly cool er midweek before temperatures ramp back up again morning, there's now something else to do in las vegas. buying legal are recreational marijua marijuana. hundreds of people lined up outside dispensaries to be among the first to buy an ounce of legal pot. nevada now becomes the fifth state to sell recreational pot joining alaska, colorado, washington and oregon. there is one big drawback, however, it is still illegal to smoke pot in public including casino, bars and parks. because of that, many buyers are expected to go with the edible pot. if you rely on two of the bay area's busiest tran it system, you'll be paying more. muni fares run up for cash and clipper card paying customers. and monthly adult fast passes go up by two to $3. in the east bay, transit fares are hire. anywhere from 5 to 15 cents for local rides. cash fare for lult local ride will be 2.25. the agency will charge less to people who pay with clipper cards. trans bay fares are also going up. before you head into the water this weekend, a warning about sharks. off the coast of california. a shark coming dangerously near this paddle bordard boarder and boat pulling two inflatable swans going through those same waters. >> the boat had no idea those sharks were in the area because they were towing two giant inflatable pool toys with girls sitting on them. >> cur it is alerted a life guard seen here swimming towards the boat. moments later, everyone piling in for safety. in cape cod, a rise in great white sightings. 150 expected this year. nearly double the number of from 2014. first responders are preparing for more attack, hoping to prevent 79, some low 80s for santa rosa and napa. oakland, 68 for the a's game and san jose, 78. upper 80s through fairfield and antioch, so at the beach, you'll need an extra layer because temperatures will be b in the upper 50s and to near 60, half moon bay again, but santa cruz will get more sunshine earlier on. but you'll want that jacket because of the breezy conditions. if you're headed tothd fair, lots of sunshine early on and temperatures will be warm, low 80s by this afternoon. but by tonight, it will cool down into the 60s if you stay until closing at 11:00 p.m. here's the fourth of july, 12 date of birth or social security number. if that information not there, then it will drop off of those credit reports. >> most tax liens have the information, most civil judgments do not. so if your credit report has some of this negative information, you to gain as much as 40 points. though 20 points or less are the rule. doesn't sound like much, but bruce says it can have a huge impact on
