investigation. >> it's currently assigned to an investigator in our investigation division. we are looking into it to try to develop leads. >> in santa clara, david louie, abc7 news. the campus of uc merced is on lock down after a student there stabbed four people. investigators say it started with a fight inside of a classroom in the middle of the campus. he pulled a knife and took his attack outside. police say they shot and killed him, a student at the school, not far from the crime scene. students are in shock, and praising the school for how it handled this emergency. they say they were notified and told to evacuate. >> i looked around the corner. >> thinking a campus so small, you see familiar faces everywhere. it's just unimaginable. >> the victims are two students an advisor and construction worker. >> the contract worker thinking it was a student fight and i think that saved a student's live. >> classes are set to resume on friday. >> it is still early in flu season, but the virus has taken a life in california. someone from santa clara county. the person was between 18-65 and faced a higher risk of complications because of a preexisting medical condition. doctors say happened here at buchanan and bay. a very dangerous intersection, according to neighbors. there is no stop sign. the city says it has plans to make the area safer but today, a drunk driver sent two boys to the hospital. police were handing out speeding tickets to drivers. >> you can see cars going 40-50 miles per hour on this zone. >> this morning, a 30-year-old is led away in handcuffs. police later charged her with dui. police say she slammed her volkswagon suv into 212-year-old boys on the way to school. >> what we're looking at here is children struck as crossing the street. >> police say the impact launched the boys into the air, their backpack, clothes, shoes in the street. authorities say the box truck was stopped in the right lanes but the driver didn't slow down. >> they were struck as she passed on the left side. >> the boys are expected to survive, recovering from serious injuries at san francisco general. >> neighbors are sounding off and everyone agrees cars drive too fast. >> i, too, have two little boys and have to worry about their safety. particularly in the morning when these cars are speeding off to work. >> everyone knows that it's a dangerous intersection. police have been trying their best but they're shorthanded. >> the boys were walking to marina middle school. officials say counselors are available and some parents say they won't take chances with kids walking to school. >> i drop off and pick up. there are things going on around here. >> we tried to reach someone for comment but no one answered. sacramento police have made an arrest in the attack of air force hero spencer stone. officers arrested james tran this morning during a traffic stop. he is facing attempted homicide charges. stone was stabbed three times while protecting a friend october 8th. he is out of the hospital and promoted to staff sergeant. stone says he's fortunate for being able to walk away. >> i'm walking away with just scars and a clean bill of health. >> stone and two other friends stopped a terrorist attack in august. >> happening now, police commission is holding a public hearing to establish a policy for officers wearing body cameras. one big issue is whether officers will be allowed to view the video before writing police reports. some organizations oppose that in the current draft policy. >> tonight, brisbane will consider a controversial plan that could triple the population of the city that cherishes it's small-town feel. the proposal would allow 4,000 homes on this lot and add office and retail space and triple the number of homes in the the planning commission will consider the final report for the bayland project. voters will have a say sometime next year. >> air bnb is looking to take a strategy to help defeat a san francisco students, parents, drivers, transportation is getting out of hand. >> donna eagan lives nearby and has seen the noise get worst. it hz been located here for a century. they own the land. the school has grown and in 2006, city hall gave perm mission to increase enrollment up to 906 students by 2021. they currently have 875 but there is demand for this private school with the kind ger garden tuition of $23,000 a year and $34,000 for high school. the school doesn't want to wait to increase enrollment. >> we're seeking now an acceleration by what has been approved. >> the school tried to april ease neighbors asking parents to carpool and abide by the big ten traffic rules which include never parking in the neighborhood. the teachers have their own rot. neighbors are asking city hall to limit cars like requiring bus ridership. >> what happens on a bus ridership is that a certain percentage of the kids are required to come, and leave by bus, opposed to single occupancy cars descending on the neighborhood. >> the school has also purchased additional land across the street. they will not say what they plan to do with it. in oakland, abc7 news. well, is he permanently
