We try to get them as close as we can to their home. Some people we have found out registered their kids at different schools because they cant drive to get them to the school. Later on tonight, Michael Finney will have pointed questions from the red cross about what they will, and wont do in a fire disaster like the one in lake county. Firefighters mopped up hot spots in the butte fire. Some response crews are heading home now. A 1yearold girl is in the hospital after falling from a one story building. Police say a fence was supposed to block the opening of the building but she fell about 1520 feet and landed on her head. No word on how serious the injuries are. Well, an executive from Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory was killed during her morning workout in a crash involving an elderly driver. The 49yearold kathy baker was working out at the life styles gym on east stanley boulevard. An suv just crashed through the glass doors. The vehicle didnt stop for 20 feet. Baker died from her injuries and five others were injured. Police say the woman is 80 years old and trying to park when it happened. We believe she had pedal confusion. That is where you hit the gas pedal instead of the brakes. She crashed through the gym, crashing into a classroom. The driver was not seriously hurt. Police say she could face charges depending on the investigation. The 349ers fans accused of beating up a vikings family were charged with assault. One faces up to four years in prison and two others face up to seven years. Cell phone video shows that incident. Witnesses say it started when two fans began trash talking. Security broke up the fight. This is not a case about sports rivalry, team jerseys, San Francisco 49ers, or minnesota vikings. This is a case about senseless criminal violence. It prompted two Santa Clara City Council members to suggest the city stop alcohol sales after half time at the stadium. The City Council Meeting on that issue begins in an hour. A Santa Clara County judge is ordering the parents of a boy with autism and their neighbors to deal with their conflict through mediation. The neighbors claim the boy was a threat to their safety. Chris nguyen is in san jose. Reporter at the sunnivale culdesac, an dispute between neighbors. It was great reluctance. We needed to protect the safety of the children. Reporter the coplaintiffs are in a lawsuit filed against their neighbors claiming the couple did not do enough to prevent their son from assaulting their children as well as other people in the neighborhood. They say the childs aggression got worse over a twoyear period. Today, a judge recommended the two sides head to mediation in october. Coplaintiff robert flowers welcomes dialogue. My hope is that when we meet with the defendants, we can finally at long last come to a workable solution. Reporter according to documents, the attacks happened on multiple occasions and they have moved out of the home but are renting it out. The plaintiff v plaintiffs are seeking damages and assurances their son will be better supervised should the family return to the neighborhood. Still head an update on the bay area family missing after a fire at their cabin. Well hear from a neighbor that tells us about the argument he witnessed. A neighbor recorded video of a truck being impounded several days after the fire, nobody here saw the family vehicle, a newer white ford pick up. Could that have been the truck that detectives saw in benicia . Sheriffs showed up and at 9 00 at night they towed a way atruck. During the search, they found a 16yearold and detained him briefly. He is now staying with his grandmother. So many questions about what happened and why. The Sheriffs Office promises answers will come tomorrow. The young ceo of a drug company that hiked a price of one of his drugs by 5,000 is backing down tonight but his actions sparked a conversation about drug prices. A lot of people believe this is long overdue. Yes. We talked to a local advocate who say the ceos price hike was outrageous but say theyre not surprised because the drug prices have been inching up for years now. The pressure of this price of the pill pushed him to bend. We agreed to lower it to a price that is more affordable and able to allow the company to make a profit, but a small profit. Reporter the drug has been used to treat cancer in aids victims but skraly is a former Hedge Fund Manager turned Pharmaceutical Company owner, he decided to hike the price from 18 a bill to 750 a pill. So i took those complaints and went to the local red cross ceo. Red cross has provided relief and is taking an amazing amount of grief. My Facebook Page and twitter account are filled with concerns about the red cross. Today, in middleton i sat down with trevor riggin. Ryan g says they keep the majority of the money. Jim y says he heard reports only 8 of the donations go to services. Charity navigator says 90 goes over goods and services. What are the snakts. For the red cross as a whole, 0. 91 of every dollar is going to our services in the community. It will be the same for this disaster. Those writing to me are concerned about where the money is being spent. Were committed any money designated to be spent in California Wildfires supports the wildfires in california. Another issue is the rejection of volunteers and material donations. Tim m says ask red cross why theyre turning away donations left and right. They wont let anyone drop off donations at their fire sites. So we have changed that. We did put that messages out. That fell into the category of we didnt have the right coordination going on at the fair grounds. The red cross admits it failed to build partnerships before the disaster. The red cross doesnt take donations of physical goods but tries to partner with other charities that do, and accused of having problems around the country, around the world. Why is it every time there is a major disaster, it seems like the red cross ends up in a major scandal .
