who shoot a man in a drive-by. the victim was with a group of friends when a car approached. someone inside opened fire. the victim was taken to the hospital in critical condition. in san jose, one person was killed and another injured in a drive-by just south of downtown. around 2:00 a.m. two men in their 20s were shot twice by someone inside a car on oak street. police have not made any arrests. president obama today joined thousands of people in solidarity in selma, alabama, on the 50th anniversary of bloody sunday. half a century ago today civil rights activists marched from mont matter. >> a couple dozen people walked across the golden gate bridge this afternoon to show their support of bloody sunday and protest police officers across the country accused of shooting and killing unarmed men of color. a mother and a group of protesters in wisconsin are demanding answers after police shot and killed an unarmed black man. the shooting happened last night in madison. police say tony robinson hit the officer in the head. police were trying to stop robinson, who was accused of battery and running through traffic. he ran into an apartment and that's where police say he attacked the officer. >> an early st. patrick's day celebration near cal poly university ended with several students getting hurt. a roof collapsed under the weight of party goers. firefighters have i 30 to 40 people were on top of the roof when it gaveway. nine people were hurt, including one person who was impaled in the thigh by a piece of wood. the other eight students had mostly cuts and bruises. the united states flag will no longer be on display in the lobby of the student government offices aft uc irvine. this week student leaders voted to pan the patriot trick display. and saying the flag has been flown in times of colonialism. a lamaker says she may introduce a constitutional amendment to prohibit state funded universities and colleges from banning the flag. one of the world's greatest parades right now winding through the streets of san francisco, the chinese new year parade. tiffany wilson joins us with a look live at the colorful celebration. tiffani? >> reporter: yes katy, welcome to the excitement. this is celebrating 2015 the year of the ram. i'm going to step out so you can get a live look at the action as it makes its way down market street. the parade started at 5:15 at second and market and now the floats, line dance ares and the dragon will wind their way from market street to union square and then head through chinatown. it's the largest chinese new year parade outside of asia and one of the top ten parades in the world. people have been waiting for hours along the sidewalk to catch a glimpse of the floats and costumes. the highlight was the golden dragon and fire crackers. the golden dragon is over 200 feet long and requires 100 men and women to carry it through the streets. it's covered with colored lights. spectators say this parade is an amazing event no matter if it's your first time or an annual tradition. >> been pretty awesome. just different than all the other parades i've been to before. i'm not used to all the dragons. >> he love the percussion. playing the drums, we love hearing the drums and the parade go through. >> reporter: now, as you can imagine, the parade has definitely had an impact on traffic throughout the city. it's expected to wrap up around 8:00 tonight, and after the route is cleared, then the streets will be open but if you're heading out tonight keep that in mind. everyone here tonight most americans silts their clocks forward one hour for daylight saving time. doctors warn there will likely be a spike in heart attacks on monday. a study found the number of heart attacks increased 24% following the time change. the study blamed the loss of sleep and change of schedule. syphilis cases are on the rise in california, and san francisco has the fastest growing rate. the cdc reports those infects are young men, but newborn cases are on the rise to mothers who have not been diagnosed or treated for the infection. >> the areas where there's problems in the world with syphilis are less developed countries that don't have the resources, don't have public health resources and test and treat for syphilis so it's unusual it's so rampant in the u.s. >> the rate of syphilis cases in california has grown consistently in the last 15 years. making it one of the high nest the done -- highest in the country. health party ands say syphilis is easily detected with a
