volkswagen jetta went 150 feet down an embank many. firefight hers to form a line to pull the driver back up to the top and it took nearly half an hour. the rescue forced the closure of the left-hand lands. only minor injuries. he was sent to a trauma center for evaluation. happening today jury deliberations resume in the case of the man accused of killing kate steinle on a san francisco pier. that panel began discussing the fate of jose ines garcia zarate last week. prosecutors believe he should be convicted of murder. defense attorneys insist the undocumented immigrant fired the gun explosion happened is owned by a police officer. another royal wedding is coming. prince harry and american actress meghan markle are engaged. the couple expected to marry in the spring. this is the lowe from sacramento. the crash happened saturday night on interstate 80. lowe was arrested not long after and booked into the martinez jail. now he's charged with vehicular manslaughter, hit-and-run, dui, and driving on a suspended license. bail set at more than $1 million. new details are emerging after emeryville and oakland police say 500 people showed up to watch a sideshow in a parking lot in emeryville. police say about 100 cars dispersed when officers got there early yesterday morning. it happened in a target store parking lot on 40th street. police say a car they believe was involved in the sideshow crashed into a tree in front of the ikea store. officers checked to see whether the sideshow participants went somewhere else and found that they did. no one was arrested or injured and no one reported any property damage. this morning the story making national news. a teenaged boy has now been found after police said he set his own home on fire. it happened last night in the southern california town of pico rivera. witnesses say they saw the 15-year-old pour gasoline around the perimeter of the home and then set it on fire. police had to evacuate the entire neighborhood until the flames were out. officers say the boy got into a fight with his parents and then decided to burn down the house. investigators say the teen was also seen running from the home but he was then later found and is now cooperating. massage envy, the popular spa chain with locations nationwide including here in the bay area, has been accused of sexual assault. buzz feed reports 180 women have filed lawsuits, police reports, and other complaints against massage envy. one woman who used to work as a receptionist at an l.a. location describes what happened to her five years ago. >> and he pulled the blanket back down to my ankles, pulled my underwear down to my knees and then massaged my butt with his hands. when this happened to me i thought it was an isolated thing, just one sick man. >> the company said, quote, each of these incidents are heartbreaking for us and for the franchisees that operate massage envy locations with over 15 years and 125 million massages, even one incident is too many. in developing news one of the men behind that massive yahoo! hack three years ago appears to be changing his plea. he initially pled not guilty to charges of computer hacking and economic espionage in augment federal officials say the 22-year-old canadian-born kazakhstan helped russian agents steal 500 million yahoo! accounts. he is expected to change his plea to guilty tomorrow in a san francisco courtroom. a 22-year-old from minnesota is quickly earning the title of trail blazer after a pageant this weekend. mikaila holmgren is believed to be the first person to compete in a miss usa pageant. she is a triple threat athlete. she also serves as a mentor for other young women and has a passion from dancing. holmgren won two awards last night, spirit of miss usa short break for thanksgiving. >> the jury needs to decide if the accused killer intentionally targeted steinle or if this was an accident. abc 7 news reporter matt keller live for us in san francisco. matt? >> reporter: good morning, reggie and jessica. the jury will be back at work again inside this courthouse later today as they took the long thanksgiving weekend off. they last deliberated on wednesday. the defense attorney matt gonzalez says jose ines garcia zarate had no intention of hurting kate steinle in the summer of 2015 on pier 14 in san francisco. gonzalez argued the begun went off accidentally when he picked it up after finding it wrapped in a rag under a chair. the prosecution told the jury garcia zarate had the gun with him, called the case presented by the defense as fiction. they say the defendant wanted to fire the gun at people and aimed at the closest target, the steinles. he has been charged with second-degree murder. the jury is allowed to consider today students will return to a tehema county school. a gunman targeted the elementary school earlier this month. yesterday community members and religious leaders blessed the campus. they prayed and asked for protection for students and staff. many haven't seen each other since the november 14th attack. >> we're just praying for safety and peace and blessings god would just continue to work and keep our kids coming back for school. it will not be easy for some. >> when the shooter, kevin neal, opened fire on the campus. police say neal killed five people before he went to the school. and neal was killed by police. president trump and lawmakers back to work in washington after the thanksgiving holiday. >> and their focus is now tax reform, but, to be clear, sexual harassment allegations are also still a major concern on capitol hill. the president did not answer questions about whether he plans to campaign for ray moore. the senate candidate has been accused of sexual misconduct with minors. >> it is pretty clear to me the best thing roy moore can do for the country is to move on. the reality of it is the allegations are strong, credible, and the denial has been weak. >> president trump needs that crucial senate seat to pass the gop tax reform plan. he will meet tomorrow about their version of the bill. president trump now questioning the authenticity of the now infamous "access hollywood" recording in which he was caught in a vulgar exchange in 2005 with billy bush. in the off-camera conversation mr. trump was heard bragging about his ability to grope tape in recent weeks and to a republican senator earlier this year. this comes as the president faces growing criticism from colleagues of his defense of roy moore. a state assembly committee would hold its first meeting tomorrow on the issue of sexual harassment in a california legislature. while the committee will not address a specific incident recent accusations brought against hollywood executives and other politicians are encouraging the assembly to get ahead of the issue. it is led by laura freedman, a first-term democrat from glendale. happening today students, parents, and educators plan to pack the unified board district's meeting, a proposal that will cut millions of dollars they believe will hurt students. they needed to cut $15 million from the budget to build its financial reserves. the district has fallen short of meeting state mandates. today's school board meeting starts at 5:30 p.m. at la escuelita elementary school. the whole world is talking this morning, but i did have on the storm impact scale the threat of fog and, sure enough, we're dialed down on penn grove, petaluma up to santa rosa. you can see lakeville highway, old adobe road, d street, all of that. half-mile visibility right now and it's going to get worse and it's moving up to santa rosa where it's about a mile visibility right now. so keep an eye on that. still down in the south bay dealing with showers, that's the cloud cover in the distance. rainfall about .17 so far. 280 and 17 right there which is promising. most of us are still dealing with a wet morning commute. the 22-year-old man actually pulled a knife, threatened his girlfriend as well. they eventually got the suspect out. they did have trouble getting the baby away from the suspect. sth they had to open fire. >> he was telling me he was a little scared of what was going on. the baby was in no danger whatsoever. we all know that. i told the cops. they told me if one of us, myself, my dad or brother went to the car he would give us the kid and would come out. >> police did kill the suspect. the baby was taken to safety and appeared unhurt. happening now cyber monday is already under way. a lot of their gmail accounts. they found the fbi knew for at least a year the officials were being targeted by the hacking group known as fancy bear. the group has ties to the russian government. the fbi
