This truck is the quiet point surrounded by a sea of barely moving traffic. As we come back live, here is the truck on the ground. The good news as we said a few moments ago, they have drained the gasoline and diesel feel out of there. As much as 4,000 or 5,000 gallons out of there earlier. They tlink there might have been 8,000 total. The next is to have a tow truck moved in there. They thought it was any moment. Now at least half an hour, so thats the next step. Our suspicion is everybody is taking alternate routes to try to do anything they can to by pass th bye pass th bypass this area. We were told it would be a lengthy alternate route. So everything coming into San Francisco looks like its moving very smoothly at this hour. If youre stuck in that marin county commute, you have to bring your patience. Lets go back to that big rig fire. Yeah. Big rig fire. This is a problem as well in the fairfield evening commute. This is sky 7 in fairfield right now. Okay. We just changed this is a live picture of sky 7 . Yeah. This isnt fairfield. This is interstate 80 and travis boulevard. This is a big mess. This is because of a fire. We have multiple traffic disasters going on. Maybe disaster is a little bit of an overstatement but big problems. Obviously in fairfield, very slow going here on 80 at travis boulevard. At one point all lanes were shut down. This was because of a big rig. Different from the one that we had shown you earlier. Smoke and fumes prompted evacuations of a couple of businesses, and traffic obviously, the overflow, is well into the 5 00 hour. All right. Were going to move on to some other news of the day right now. This is it looks as though this is the Previous Story we were talking about. We were trying to get this pi up. This is the big rig that caused the traffic that we showed about 20 seconds ago. Yeah. The crews are putting out some hot spots. That truck went up in flames on interstate 80 near the travis boulevard onramp. I think weve given you the information of that. A man suspected of driving drunk caused a crash killing others earlier this week. That accident happened early saturday and close all southbound lanes of highway 101 at blossom hill road. Authorities say 22yearold casey olsen was driving in the wrong direction before sideswiping a tour bus and colliding with multiple vehicles. Hes being held on 250,000 bail. San Francisco Police want to find the thieves who are stealing cars right down the block from mayor ed lees home. This is happening in the glyn park neighborhood. Reporter car thefts are on the rise in San Francisco as well as other bay area cities. Now right up here is a small street where mayor ed lee lives. Well, were not going to reveal the name of that street in deference to the mayors security concerns, but for whatever reason its become a magnet for car thieves. This year auto thefts in San Francisco have jumped 10 . Bay view and Ingleside Police districts have the highest numbers of stolen cars. This quiet street controlled by officers is only a block long. It ends in a culdesac. Its glaring example of how brazen car thieves have become. Im shocked that, you know, there has been so many car thefts, especially on this street. This person, mayor ed lee . We had three stolen vehicles this year taken on the mayors block where he lives. More specifically, three stolen cars in just three months, all in the middle of the night. One of them so brazen that tleevs stole the car parked in front of this home, even though sensor lights turned on while the Security Camera caught them in the act. Neighbor christina did not want her last name used. She saw the video and says the thieves werent even fazed. It was very calm. Nothing was rushed or hurried and they definitely looked like professionals. Reporter all three cars were recovered. Jacqueline paul was very lucky. Hard to believe but she actually found her own stolen saturn. I was driving and going underneath the free way to get onto bay shore. I noticed the car in front of me. Reporter she called police and they arrested them. In the meantime. All the cars are lock and neighbors are keeping an eye out for each other. Reporter and they emailed mayor ed lee. It goes to show you no community is immune from it. Reporter Police Arrest add man and a woman after officer say they stole whats known as a bait bike. They chained an expensive canon dale bicycle to a stop sign which is notorious to bike thefts. Officers say it wasnt long before the man the man is accused of cutting the chain and the accused woman rode away on the bike. Both of them are charged with grand theft. A wildfire in Shasta County sparked by an exhaust from a truck has sparked a new set of evacuations. The so called bully fire has destroyed 15 homes and other structures. The fire has burned 4,700 acres. Thats almost the size of the city of San Francisco. Its only 15 contained at this point. Firefighters really hampered by steep terrain with temperatures reach ing 108 degrees. A Sacramento Man was accused of driving the truck while tending an illegal pot farm. Police describe him as a middle age man standing about 53 and weighing about 170 to 180 pounds. The man was also describe as having a potbelly, slightly unshaken with short salt and pepper hair. Police arent the only one keeping an eye out for the suspect fitting the description. Theyre looking for anything and anyone out of place. For more than 35 years, the facility has been providing housing for families of children receiving care at the childrens hospital. Right now it has 47 rooms but there is a waiting list thats even longer than that. The expansion will increase capacity to 123 rooms. Families living at the Ronald Mcdonald house says it does more than just provide a place to stay. Beneekath that they have the things they need for children. Activity room.
