san francisco. he was off duty in the city when a man and a woman jumped into his car and depended that he drive them around. he says the man had a gun and the woman had a knife. he drove to richmond and at some point for at an atm to take money out. that's when he said he made his escape and went straight to richmond police. police are looking for a 2015 toyota kamry with license plate 7hqw692. a found new homes. yesterday abc7 news was at rabbit ears in el cerrito, one of the pet shops that took animals rescued from the rotary nature center. reptileses, guinea pigs and a 60-year-old terror toys were sent to the shelters and pet shops. the animals were found to be neglected and in poor health and word quickly spread they needed some help. >> at some point they came to me and said will you take, if we can get these animals out, can you take om. we said yeah, of course. that's what we do. >> rabbit ears took in two guinea pigs and a mouse. they'll be up for adoption soon. the rotary nature center has been shut down. now to a case of prostitution on the peninsula. investigate remembers say the four people you see here are accused of human trafficking in san bruno. investigators broke up the ring friday arresting all four. after serving a sempbl waesht warrant at a home. it comes after a month long investigation. in the south bay, the family of a woman killed by san jose police remembered her during an emotional dedication. san jose police shot and killed diana shulman back in 2014. her memory will be honored at a softball field where she used to play the sport she of the bay at a later date. warriors head coach steve kerr remains out indefinitely after having a spinal cord leak procedure on his back. team owner joe lay could be tells bloomberg radio had he his spine drained in hopes of alleviating some of the health issues that have sidelined him. the coach has not been with the warriors in their last five playoff games. lay could be says "we just have to starting your day with abc7 news. 5:11 is the time. a seemingly cold case from 13 years ago appears to be solved. the sonoma sheriff says there is evidence linking 38-year-old shawn gallen to a cold case double murder in 202004 in jenner. as news reporter melanie wod dro shows us, gallen made an impression on neighbors in guerneville where he once lived. >> reporter: people are talking about him in downtown guerneville. many are saying they would rather not talk on camera after allegations that gallen is responsible for the 2004 murders of 26-year-old jason allen and 22-year-old linsey cut shall. the couple died from gunshots to their heads as they slept on a beach in sonoma county. >> he had information about the killings that no other xoern have known and we have located evidence that corroborates his statement. >> one man inside this restaurant and bar described him as being off. a caretaker where gallen once stayed said he was known to shoot animals with air proepz in 2009, he shot james mcneal in his convertible with be an arrow, as well. >> knocked the baseball cap off of my head. he hit me with quite a bit of force. lucky not to be injured at all. >> mcneal says he thought it was an accident until he saw someone running away. gallen served time for the crime. until now mcneal says he never quite understood why law enforcement reacted the way it did. >> cops were coming into town with thanks, robots. >> deputies say gallen has always been a person of interest in the murders. >> detectives never ruled him out as a possible suspect. >> reporter: he has been in county jail since march charged with shooting and killing his younger brother. fridays deputies searched his home in forestville possibly looking for evidence in the jenner case. >> it's a terrible thing if he did it. >> reporter: melanie woodrow, abc7 news. a san francisco resident led a group of international athletes in a swim from the united states to mexico all in support of immigrant rights. the 12 swimmers set off from the imperial beach in san diego county and swam across the border towards a beach. tijuana escorted by the mexican navy and cleared for the swim by immigration officials. the organizer of the swim lives in san francisco and wanted to call attention to what she believes is the anti-immigration position of the current administration. >> this is not a protest. this is not a political statement. this is purely a swim for human rights and to cast a global spotlight and human suffering >> swimmers from the u.s., mexico, israel, new zealand and south africa all took part in the more than six mile swim. happening today, friends and family of a man who died during a performance with the san francisco gay mens chorus will hold a memorial service. 39-year-old ryan nunez collapsed at the theater in late march. doctors were unable to revive him. the chorus's artistic director says nunez was share voice in the world and took care of everyone. the chorus is asking who knew him to attend today's service at 1:00 this afternoon at the aids memorial grove in san francisco. someone defaced two murals in the mission districts. abc news 7 was at 17th and carlos bring together families and law enforcement for weekly games free of charge. it is a way to do outreach in the community. >> the kidsed are appreciative and come up to us law enforcement officers and want to engage in soccer. >> volunteers and donations help organize the soccer matches. the players get uniforms, equipment and a place to play without having to worry about the financial costs associated with the sport. in richmond, 80 low income this year at no cost. yesterday, abc7 news was in rich monday as a group of military veterans from bay area brave installed new solar panels on mel jackson's home. he's also a vet who served in the marine corps during the vietnam war. the volunteers are getting on the job training for careers as solar panels installers. jackson is grateful he qualified for the help. >> definitely. as you can see, we get plenty of sun light here. so it will save us quite a bit. >> he's expected to save $40,000 in power bills over the life of the system and spark only provides the gas itself. pg&e still charges customer for delivering it. also when pg&e provides its own gas, it's much cheaper than spark's gas. pg&e's gas costs her an average of 42 cents per thermcompared to spark's 74 cents. she contacted spark energy. >> they said we can't control what pg&e charges you for distribution. just like, wow. >> reporter: spark said it would cancel the contract but it could take months. >> i'm like okay, fine. i think i'm going to call 7 on your side. >> reporter: we contacted spark. the company released her from the contract and reimbursed her $100 for the higher rate she paid telling us, we work swiftly to terminate ms. hollis's contract. new to the market rules in the state, the cancellation could not occur till pg&e's next available meter headed home. now they're facing backlash from health care advocates as democrats use the controversial bill as a rallying cry. abc news reporter david wright has more. >> reporter: blowback for significantly. and also, i could possibly be denied health care. >> reporter: the republican bill would roll back the affordable care act's protects for patients with pre-existing conditions. that's one out of every four americans. health insurers would still have to cover them but the bill does include a mechanism allowing insurance companies to raise rates on those patients. possibly even making their insurance unaffordable. in idaho, raul labrador shot back at a constituent who told him without access to health care, people will die. >> that line is so indefensible. nobody dies because they don't have access to health care. >> reporter:. >> it will be great health care and your premiums will come down and your deductibles will come down. so you'll have better health karat a abductsed three years ago from northeastern nigeria. they will be thrown to safety today. the release comes in exchange for the freedom of several boko haram suspects who were in custody. about 195 girls are still missing. the girls where are taken in april 2014 by militants who stormed a girls's school inchy book. it triggered an international outcry. 5:35 is our time. this summer marks 20 years since the death of princess diana. tonight abc news is airing a special report, the last 100-days did of diana, giving us a new perspective on her final days. alexis smith gives us a sneak peek
