downpours. the rain/snow mix around h hamilton, and over vallejo, novato, into central is not raw fell, a steady rain. we are looking at this to settle down over the next several hours, and we will keep the scattered showers in the forecast today, and it's a 1 on the stone impact scale, and as we go through the next several hours into the morning, you will notice we still have the cold air in place and the showers are few and far in between. we are going to talk about the sunny breaks and when we will see to the pattern kwuplicoming. service on b.a.r.t. is back to normal this morning after scary moments for riders in the east bay. i fire broke out just after 6:00 last night. and an abc 7 news viewer shared this with us, the flames at the station as she was driving by, and many of the people onboard had no idea there was a fire. abc news reporter melanie woodrow has the story. >> reporter: relief and a thumbs up. this cell phone video taken by a passenger after exiting an hour later. the issue of fire in an electrical room under the tracks. you can see it from sky 7. >> it could have been a lot worse. >> reporter: a lot worse because the train could have still been on the platform just above the fire. >> when we got on scene there was quite a few explosions. that smoke is nasty because it's all burning plastic at that point, basically. >> reporter: passengers waited in the dark. >> we thought we would have to get out of the back of the train. >> reporter: instead electricians restored the power, and the temporary cut enough to distinguish the flames. >> we did not use water on the fire. >> the b.a.r.t. driver did a great job of keeping everybody calm and informed. >> we were not aware of the fire under the tracks until what we saw was on the facebook live. >> i was like, i don't see any smoke or smell any sphoerbg. >> there were concerns some headed to sfo could miss their flights. in walnut creek, melanie woodrow, abc 7 news. ten people arrested and more than a dozen weapons confiscated. lisa amin gulezian has details. >> somebody smashed her in the back of the head. >> had to be rescued by police and pulled from an angry crowd after somebody swiped her make america great again hat. >> the woman's boyfriend, who grabbed my wife's hat, smacked her in the back of the head and knocked her down, and then people started kicking her. >> the 57-year-old and her friends left with the police escort. >> every time we are trying to be peaceful here, but -- why is they always just attacking people? >> reporter: this was not a place for a peaceful political discussion, people were hurt, badly in some cases, and anger from those for and against president trump filled civic center park. >> you hate diversity. that's why you voted for trump! >> are you a mind reader? >> and too many times people resorted to using pepper spray or mace. >> hours after the clashes began, police started to make arrest, while some complain berkeley police took a passive approach to the protests, a spokesperson said making ten arrests is proof of the contrairy. charges range from battery to assault with a deadly weapon. lisa amin gulezian, abc 7 news. >> rallies supporting president trump were held in some 50 cities across the country, in nashville, at least two arrests were made. we also have video from denver, raleigh, north carolina, and austin, texas. counter protesters also showed up at most of those rallies, but there were no major incidents. a group working to end u.s. immigration detention is calling on authorities to stop the deportation of a man from nappy. martinez was taken into custody by immigration and customs enforcement officers and activist say it was because of minor crimes he committed 15 years ago. abc 7 news was in richmond yesterday morning where dozens of people rallied in support of martinies and others detained at the west county detention facility. >> there's anywhere from 150 to 300 people each day, and they are paid -- the facility is paid a per diem rate of probably around $100, $115 per day to hold people for immigration and customs enforcement. >> activist are asking i.c.e. to close the case against martinez. sthaoeufp and then trump is making the accusation that obama wiretapped the trump tower during the campaign last year. elizabe elizabeth hur has the story. >> reporter: terrible, just found out that obama had my wires tapped in trump tower just before the victory. nothing found. the president adding, how low has president obama gone to tap my phones during the very secret election process. this is nixon/watergate. but trump cited no proof and it's not clear whether he based his information on intelligence briefings or a news report, and a story printed on friday alleges obama eavesdropping, and obama said the claims are false. we do know the fbi is investigating whether there was any possible collusion between officials and the trump campaign, and in a case like that, wiretaps can be used. and key wiretaps are part of the investigation, although he has not seen any evidence. >> there are transcripts that provide very helpful and critical insights into whether or not russian intelligence and senior russian political leaders, including vladimir putin, were cooperating, were kolluding. >> the president does have the power to declassify anything he wants. abc news, new york. this morning spokesperson for both presidents trump and bumgarner wi obama will come to "this week", and sarah huckaby sanders, and josh earnest will speak exclusively on the show. you can watch their interviews on "this week" with george stephanopoulos right here on abc 7. water officials in the south bay are keeping a close eye on the reservoir and coyote creek. as you know, coyote creek recently flooded in san jose leading to thousands being evacuated from their homes and tens of millions of dollars in damage. water district officials are not expecting any problems, but say crews are on standby in case any issues arise. and crews on the central coast work around the clock to improve landslides that cut off big sur. homes have been isolated because of damage to the canyon bridge, and landslides on highway 1. the supplies are expected to last at least two weeks. >> this is a dire situation, and i really worry that people don't understand how severe this really is. >> part of the highway is expected to open in about a week, and cal transplans to demolish and rebuild the pfeiffer canyon bridge. and then the orville dam after its collapse. they have temporarily shut down a power plant at the damp will make improvements for increased water releases. the hayat power plant stopped after debris formed at the bottom of the spillway and the shutdown is expected to last until tomorrow. a lot of worrying even this morning, lisa. >> yes, that's right. we are looking at pretty good downpours that will continue to push through the area, this morning, and this afternoon we are going to see sunshine. but you can see the wind from this camera from the sutro tower camera, 46 degrees, and we are still in the 40s and 50s, but with west winds and eventually northwest winds, it's going to feel awfully cool. already a rain/snow mix around the bay as well, and we'll show it to you next. next, craziness caught on camera. a brow at a southern california chuck e. cheese. also a fowl problem. including colludin it's 5:13 on this sunday morning. thank you for waking up so early to join us for abc 7 mornings. this is a look from the roof cam showing you scattered showers, and went out to dinner in san francisco last night, and heavy, heavy rain, and woke up this morning, rain, and what is in store for the rest of the week? lisa along shortly with a full accuweather forecast. take a look at this. video posted on facebook shows mayhem at a chucky e cheese in southern california. adults at this victoriaville location pushing and shoving each other, and it started when one woman bumped into another woman in the video game area. both women suffered scratches and cuts on their hands and one went to the hospital, and sheriff deputies did not arrest anybody. again, this was victorville. neither woman wanted to press charges. more than a dozen parents in placer county are camping out in front of a school trying to get their kids in kindergarten. this is 30 miles northeast of sacramento. officials say the city is growing faster than the district can build schools and there are only 110 open kindergarten spots open next year. registration starts at 7:00 tomorrow morning. in walnut creek, a man says the canada geese that roam the park are dangerous. abc 7 news reporter, wayne friedman. >> and there are geese you will never read about in any nursery rhyme, of course, not according to this man. >> they look benign, but they are not, they are vicious. >> reporter: this man walked with a limp that came during an altercati altercation. >> and you were attacked by three geese all coordinated. they are territorial it appears. >> have there been any form complaints? >> yeah, yea high, long neck, and grayish, whitish, you know. >> call it a cautionary tale, clearly the rules change during mating season. >> this is a serious matter. these animals are dangerous, and they are a threat to children and parents should be concerned. >> in walnut creek, abc 7 news. hundreds of people came together last night to help firefighters put out cancer. abc 7 news was in san francisco for the art of fire, the sold out art auction and gala is a benefit for the san francisco firefighters cancer prevention foundation. three people were honored for their contribution to end cancer in the firefighting community. award winning actor wong came out to support his brother, a san francisco firefighter who is helping to lead the effort. >> recent years, we discover more and more risks related to chemicals and very specific things that cause cancer and terrible illnesses. >> the foundation started in 2006, and abc 7 was a sponsor of last night's event. the golden gate ferry is expanding its service for the first time in 49 years. the manager says ridership has been growing over the last couple of years and service helps reduce traffic congestion on the golden gate bridge. one-way tickets for adults cost $11.50. if you have a clipper card it will cost $7. the first ferry leaves tiburon tomorrow morning at 5:30. here's live doppler 7, and the radar loop showing waves of rain continuing to push into the bay area, and we have seen of an inch. and then highway 24 with some pretty good downpours, almost one-third of an inch an hour if this were to continue, but it's moving along and we will see it get more widely scattered throughout the day. as we go back toward the west side of marin and the san mateo toast, you see the light to moderate rain, and palo alto, it's wet. you can see the pink here. this is where we are looking at some of the higher elevation snow, so from santa cruz, the mountains here looking at a little rain and snow mix, and this is mt. hamilton, and throughout livermore, we have a break, and we go back to the north and west, and still some rain here from the central bay around san pablo bay. this is where we got the snow, around cob county. we have a winter storm warning throughout the day here. two to nine inches in some of the mountains here, right on through monday. and the flood warning around clear lake where it's nine feet, and flood stage is at nine feet. the warning in the sierra nevada continued until 4:00 on monday, and we are still looking at several feet of snow over 7,000 feet. so if we add what is to go today and tomorrow, two feet around south lake and kirkwood and around incline, and it doesn't calm down until tomorrow afternoon. temperatures in the 40s and 50s, but the northwest winds gusting over 35 miles per hour. so it's kind of blustery, and that will all work down to the surface later on, so some cold showers, possible thunderstorms, and snow over the highest peaks, and we are looking at dry and milder conditions beginning late monday into tuesday, and we get more sunshine in there as well. highs today only in the 40s. you can see the snow level down to 2,000 feet, but we will see a rain and snow mix, and if we get lower that than, that around 1,500 feet, and still a 1 on the impact scale, and we are looking at the downpours throughout the morning hours. hour by hour, this is the next couple of hours. you will notice by 9:00, perhaps some good downpours into marin, and then you look at the sunny breaks, and the holes in the overcast, but it will not shut off the shower activity until midday on monday. adding up the rainfall totals today, another 0.2 to half inch. highs just near 50 if we are luc lucky. breezy winds and showers coming few and far between by monday. lot of dry days coming our way come tuesday or thursday, and it doesn't look like we will stay that way. we could see more rain next weekend. download our app, and you can track the rain and snow, and i suspect when the sun comes up we will see the accumulating snow. >> i am holding out for thursday. >> okay. >> thanks, lisa. just ahead, rocking out for a - gr"wow" means you savehome of50% or more.gs. there are three stages of wow: denial... - is this price right? would have to empty the fridge, and each time he tried, the repairs did not work. now the buzz was driving him nuts. >> i said, i would like to get my money back, and i was immediately told they have a do not refund policy. i said, that's it, i have had it and i am going to call michael finney. >> he did, and we went and heard the fridge ourselves. sure enough an irritating buzz. and we contacted general electric, and they decided to refund his money, and they said when there is an issue we stand behind our products. now steve is ready for a new sound. silence. >> i will be glad when it's rain. over into the heart of the bay, right over the dumb barton and san mateo bridge, it's raining in pleasanton and the steady rain continues to push through, and you will notice we are looking at a little moorheadre headed our wa. embedded downpours, mainly for the morning hours, and then throughout the rest of the day we will see some sun and the possibility of a thunderstorm, and we are not going to warm up too much. details on the look ahead and how much more rain we will see coming up in a few minutes. >> thank you, lisa. now to the immigration crackdown. the department of homeland security confirms to abc7 news the proposal is to separate families across the border. >> it's actively considering the proposal discouraging families from illegally crossing the border from separating mothers from children when caught. the cries of a 13-year-old girl recording her undocumented father vanish at the hands of government acts. that's removal of gonzales between two i.c.e. officers that pulled him over as he drove his daughters to school in los angeles, and that's a signal that families in the u.s. without legal documents are now at risk. >> it's terrible to feel and see your family being broken apart. >> gonzales came here 20 years ago illegally, working and raising his family, but i.c.e. says he was picked up because of a 10-year-old dui and other convictions. >> we are getting the bad ones out. these are bad dudes. >> more than alleged illegal immigrants are being pushed out, and this dreamer brought to mississippi illegally by her parents as a child has a clean record, but she was three months late with her papers and is asking for a judge to hear her case. >> reporter: this is just a proposal but immigration attorneys are saying this is harsh and un-american. there are thousands of undocumented immigrants here in the bay area, and now local churches are joining a ni nationwide movement to provide sanctuary to those who fear they could be turned over to the feds. >> this is something that is deeply connected to our faith commitments. >> the reverend says his church supported a conscientious objector during the vietnam war and now will help undocumented immigrants threatened with deportati deportation. >> that could be hiding them someplace or providing legal assistance. >> and some sanctuaries are literally becoming sanctuaries. the university lutheran chapel in berkeley create add small apartment. in los angeles a. church is building a safe house, part of an underground network. under an obama administration policy federal agents did not enter houses of worship without approval, but fear what may come under president trump has some congregations turning to organizations, which is training churches to respond quickly. >> it's important that congregations collaborate, become one movement to help each other. >> reverend daniel is not worried about legal implications. >> we need to help people, and we need to help people even if it means breaking unjust laws. >> the movement says there are some 800 churches involved nationwide. president trump could sign a new executive order on travel as early as tomorrow. his original order banned citizens of seven mostly muslim countries from entering the u.s. and temporarily suspended the entry of all refugees. a federal appeals court in san francisco put that order on hold. the new travel ban will reportedly not affect green card holders and people who already have visas. sources also say iraq will be removed from the list of seven countries. some big changes coming when you go through security at the airports starting this week, and those pat downs are expected to be more rigorous. transportation authorities are warning travelers to be prepared for more invasive touching for tsa officers. here's reporter, gloria river rara. >> a new plan to combat tsa failures. up until now tsa officers made risk based assessments for each passenger, choosing 1 of 5 pat down methods accordingly, and now a single method. it includes trequiring sufficiet pressure. >> if you are an average traveler like most of us, we know we are not guilty of carrying anything, but they don't know that. >> the policy comes two years after a damaging report that found major security lapses across the country, and weapons made it across 95% of the time. >> this new policy not expected to increase passenger's time getting through security. a florida man faces attempted murder charges for a possible life sentence for allegedly trying to kill his former boss. >> a man who wanted to settle a dispute the old fashion way, i guess. >> the man was angry at his former boss for firing him, and he demanded to be paid for the two days he worked before he let go, and he lunged at the boss with a knife and chased him through the parking lot and he tried to run the victim over with his pickup truck, and amazingly he survived. >> he's fine. he did not call the police. when it was all said and done, the bad guy fled, and the man went to the hospital and is recovering, and he got lucky, because he could have got three times that day. >> the suspect admitted stabbing the rain there, lisa? >> we are getting the heaviest rain right now in the east bay, and concord, it is pushing through and coming down at a good clip for the valleys there, and the back edge pushing into sonoma, and rain change into snow in the higher elevations. emeriville, 50 degrees, and winds are kicking in the upper elevations, and it's going to be a raw afternoon with downpours. fewer than what ended up being rushed to the hospital for surgery after being hit in the face by a wall in surprise arizona. he suffered a broken nose and small fractures in his eye socket, and we have video from him in the spring, and this is his first year as first base coach with the giants but has been with the organization for more than a decade. and then life without kd, and they are playing the knicks in madson square garden. the guess is they probably ran for a bunch of sets they ran last year pre durant. they went here. >> without kevin, they know they are going to get more shots. so you know, the pushing through the east bay right now, and pushing through concord, walnut creek, and you can see the heavier downpours. boy, we have a good rain/snow mix going on in the higher elevation. this all will continue to slide to the east quickly. 680 in danville, around dublin road. also back to the north around san pablo bay. the rain is lighter the further north you go, but still a steady and light rain. and back toward sonoma county, the pink here, and mt. selena, further to the north here. and then we have a couple inches to over half a foot here, and now cobb mountain, around 2,000 feet looking at good accumulation and steady downpours around san francisco, and marin county, southern marin, and the 80 a few breaks here down through san mateo, and not raining as hard but looking at the higher elevation rain and snow mix. we have a winter storm warning for lake county, and also looking at the flood warning near clear lake that continues to have the lake there at around 9.5 feet. snow coming down through tomorrow afternoon, and the sierra nevada, one to two feet above 4,000 feet, and we are looking at an additional two feet of snow around kirkwood. things wind down considerably. look at the rainfall amounts. quarter inch in san jose, and look at concord, over half an inch, and still coming down. napa, .82, and san francisco, the big winner, over an inch of rain, and those are 24-hour rainfall totals. and the storm impact scale is 1, and we are looking at embedded downpours and minor street flooding, and as we go through the next several hours you will notice we have breaks here. we are looking at the cold air pushing in, and sunshine with some downpours from time to time, this is 9:00, and much of the bay area looking at sun and the cumulus clouds building up, and the bulk of the day will be sun sunnier than yesterday, and this is 6:00 tomorrow morning, your morning commute is chilly. we will come up a few degrees tomorrow, and also we will add to the rainfall totals. anywhere from one-third of an inch to half inch in novato is likely through tomorrow in the santa cruz mountains. the 7-day forecast, 1 on the storm impact scale, and temperatures warming up by tuesday significantly, and the sun comes out, and we are looking forward to thursday, and i can't wait to see some of the snow that i am pretty sure is accumulating on the changing. some business owners say it's for the worst. there's a growing trend of empty store fronts and increasing rents. >> reporter: the closing has been putting a dent in sales left and right. >> that was my sunday, and that was myr running errands. >> increasing rents on fillmore street are taking down businesses. >> when i walk down the street, nothing is going on anymore and it's one after the other. >> it makes me sad because the store i wanted to go to was not there. >> children's boutique was here, and now it's on union street where rent is slightly less. >> it's tough. >> if i had to do this today i doubt if i would do it. >> she's president of the union street association. carpenter has owned the jewelry store 30 years, and how? >> because i own the building, and i don't have
