In the east bay the fire got so hot firefighters responding to a house fire were forced to shift their tactics. Neighbors dragged garden houses to try to save their own houses as they were fighting the fire we have the story. Reporter they lived in this home for two generations. Its a horrible thing for everybody. Around dinnertime neighbors heard popping noises. They believe those pounds were two cars catching fire in the garage. I looked out and everything was in flames. And thats really heart stopping. The fire marshal estimates 100,000 in damage. If it had been windy we might have had a bigger fire and bigger problem on our hands. Half an acre burned. Frankie grabs his garden hose as flames creeped down the hillside. If i dont put it out and some of the bigger trees get out of fire it will get out of control and i wont be able to do anything with the garden hose. Thats what i was thinking. As he sprayed the water, the heat grabbed at him. Firefighters are out fighting fires. And i have to than to them. Bottle after bottle of water and others dumped it on their heads trying to cool off in 1 had been degree heat. Because of the heat our firefighters didnt work as long which is why we went to a third arm so early. Thankfully nobody, not even the family dog, was injured. And the neighbors said they will help the carpenters rebuild. A wildfire burning east of sack nen toe has grown to 1300 acres. The fire broke out around 4 30 in the afternoon. Its on the boarder of the county about 50 miles east of sacramento. The fire is 20 contained this morning. Homes in the area have been evacuated. Authorities say at least three structures have been destroyed. Another 250 are threatened. Residents say they are on edge. You know, im really freaked out. I didnt think i would be this way. Im a nurse with sacramento county, and i do disaster relief. And ive never been in this side of it. I didnt think it would feel like this. Its pretty scary. Now no word on what started the fire. The park will remain open this weekend, but there will be no barbeques or open flames allowed today. Developing news out of san jose where the chp has reopened one lane on interstate 680 near capital express way because after fatal accident. They responded to the accident just after 11 00 last night. Lanes were closed about a halfhour later at police investigated. Lanes reopened just before 1 00. No word on what led to the accident. This doctor, a dentist living in san jose, lost 30 of his Family Members in one day. Three generations of aunts, uncles and cousins were living under the same roof in the gaza strict when the israeli airstrike hit their home last weekend. Nobody survived. Some were distant cousins but i have known some of them. Its extremely vicious to see 30 people die at the same time, one family, one building, all civilians the puts Limb Community of south san jose got together to mourn the death of his relatives and other palestinians from recent attacks. People in gaza were doing the same thing when they were killed. I basically told them that im sorry for your loss and may god grant them god grant all of us paradise. We are all putting our hands and our hearts, we are afraid of this fighting all the time. The doctor has other relatives in gaza hes worried about. But the San Francisco chronicle reports bridge designer marlon nader, told officials that the other 2200 bolts and rods on the span are likely to be more corrosion resistent than the 32 who failed. Look at the delta. 71 degrees. The win are pretty calm. So that is setting the stage for another warm day there. But the winds are going to kick up and that will cool the coast off. Concord and livermore once again today well into the 90s. Perhaps a couple degrees cooler than yesterday. We are going to keep the cooling confined to the shoreline. Hot again this weekend, especially inland, but cooler around the coast and bay today. That includes berkeley, oakland, richmond, parts of the north bay, and a few high clouds in the south bay today. More so tomorrow. Increasing the relative humidity. Weve seen the pattern. And doesnt look like we will see thunderstorms out of this, but with the ridge of High Pressure in place here, it is huge. You will see all the way to the midwest. And the heat will hang on once again inland across much of the state. But with the surface gradients changing today, that means we will see not only increase in some high clouds but later on this afternoon and tonight, but the sea breeze kicks up. As we go through the rest of the day tomorrow, the Early Morning hours, you notice more significant high clouds all across the bay area. Boy, it will be hot there. You can smell the garlic in the air. Love it. The temperatures will be hot again today inland. Slight cooling tomorrow. More so on monday and tuesday. The high clouds will increase late today and tomorrow. And then its really going to take all week long until we turn the temperatures back to 90 degrees inland, 80 throughout the bay.
