All of Market Street in San Francisco is back open after the bomb squad was called out to look t a suspicious metal box. That was a couple of hours ago. That box turned out to be nothing dangerous. The block quickly reopened to traffic and pedestrians. Police confirmed to abc7 news that a San Francisco sheriffs deputys gun, star, and gear were stolen during a breakin at the deputys home. The gun and ammunition were secured in a lock box. Another star belonging to a San Francisco Police Officer was also taken. Police just released Surveillance Video of the stabbing of a tourist last month in San Francisco. You can see two robbers confronting 44yearold paul tam on post street right there. This was on february 18. He was seen running into the street, attacked and stabbed in the head. He died yesterday after spending weeks in critical care. The robbers are described as an africanamerican man and woman. There is a 5,000 reward in that case. Police arrested four people last night. It began around 11 00. Police chased the robbery suspects to winson and myrtle where the suspects crashed and were cuffed. Matt keller has the details. Reporter four Home Invasion suspects, two men and two females were caught just after 11 00 last night after crushing during a High Speed Police chase. A fifth man ran off. Some of the suspects were treated by paramedics and taken into custody. Police found several weapons at the scene. There were firearms, hand guns, possibly a shotgun, a hand gun found nearby the vehicle, and a shotgun and possibly another hand gun inside the car. Reporter this all started when the five suspects picked up and possibly kidnapped a man and drove over to the apartment complex. The three male suspects and the possible kidnapping victim went inside. Two men and one woman were robbed. The suspects took electronics, joulry and marijuana. The suspects then pistol whipped the two male victims. The man who may have been kidnapped stayed at the apartment. The victims are cooperating and refused medical treatment. These things arent very often random. So we do believe that this suspect or suspects have targeted this house specifically. Reporter police say the suspects could face Home Invasion, evading police, and possibly kidnapping charges. Matt keller, abc7 news. This is different. An apologetic car thief was arrested in fremont after she returned a stolen truck to a Police Officer at the scene of the crime. Police say the woman made off with clothes and a truck from a man living near dome street in fremont boulevard. Three hours later she came back, gave the keys to an officer and apologize apologized. Former california state senator leeland ye is facing a deadline today to turn himself in for racketeering charges. The u. S. Marshal service says he isnt yet in custody. He pleaded guilty to the charges last summer and a judge sentenced him to five years. Fbi agents arrested him and more than two dozen others in a sweeping sting operation in 2014. The raiders will stay in oakland for at least one more year. The board approved the extension of the raiders lease at the coliseum. It will cost the raiders a lot more, triple the amount they used to pay. Theyll now pay 3. 5 million a year for using the coliseum, as well as their training facility. Thats up from 925,000 a year. This deal includes two additional oneyear extensions that could keep the raiders here through the 2018 football season while they look for a permanent home. Prosecutors called it the crime of the century. 26 children and their driver were abducted at gunpoint and buried alive in a livermore quarry. Now those victims are fighting back. This is a fascinating story. Reporter the kidnappers served decades in history. One is still there, the other two released. Now they are filing a lawsuit to make them pay money. The schoenfeld brothers rick am jim drew up a twisted plan to get rich. They kidnapped a bus load of children, brought them to this quarry in livermore, and forced all 26 kids and their bus driver to climb down. The ceiling started to cave in and everything else. I thought we were going to have it right then. Kept begging to let us out. Reporter they were down there for 18 hours. Frantic parents overwhelmed the police switchboard so the kidnappers couldnt get through with their 5 million ransom. The ordeal is over. Some have minor bruises and scratches but all are well. Reporter 40 years later, the victims still feel the effect. They did a number of emotional damage to all of us, including our families. Our parents. Our lives were never the same after that. Ever. Reporter the kidnappers each got life sentences. Fred woods is still in prison, but the schoenfeld brothers have been paroled. We have these victims going how is this possible . 27 consecutive life sentences and these men are getting out free . Reporter ray boucher represents ten of the kids. He explains California Law allows the victims to sue up to ten years after the kidnappers are on parole. If they get out, they ought to pay. And they ought to be able to stand in front of these children, these victims, and answer for what they did to them. Reporter the case is now in mediation. No dollar figure discussed at this point. The kidnappers come from wealthy families. Woods father owned that quarry where they buried the kids and the bus driver. Their only Public Comment was this interview 20 years ago. I am deeply sorry for what ive done. I was immature, i was a follower. I made an extremely stupid decision here. Its just a lot of pain and suffering that we put everybody through that we didnt realize we were doing at the time. But now i hope that everybody has just gone on with their lives and everything can be back to so what normal. Reporter ten of the victims are plaintiffs in the lawsuit at this point. By the way, the bus driver ed ray passed away in 2012 at the age of 91. The kids dug their way out. Its unbelievable. Just an incredible story on so many levels. Thanks. Notice how the temperature drops champly on sunday. It will drop further on monday and start rising back up to about 72 degrees by the end of next week. Overnight, clear skies as i mentioned. Lows mainly in the mid to upper 40s. A few low 50s around the bay. Tomorrows highs, mid to upper 70s if some inland locations. Low to mid 60s on the coast. Heres the forecast starting at 5 00 a. M. Tomorrow. Clouds thickening, maybe a sprinkle or two in some of the higher terrain. And then that will taper off by mid morning and lit be gone and partly sunny in the afternoon for easter.
