Reporter Hillary Clinton finally addressing the email controversy, responding to the revelation that while she was secretary of state, she used a private email address for all of her government business and that account was run from a personal email server at her home. When i got there, i wanted to just use one device for both personal and work emails instead of two. It was allowed. It was for convenience and it was my practice to communicate with state department and other government officials on their dotgov accounts so those emails would be automatically saved. Reporter clinton also admitting she deleted her personal email. Planning chelseas wedding or my mothers funeral arrangements. She did not put this to rest. She has exacerbated the process. Reporter though clintons turned over 55,000 pages of email to the state department only what she and her team have deemed public business will be released. And that could take months. Some now speculating this controversy could hurt clintons chances of a potential president ial run. The idea that she needed special rules for her own email, that she never came up with an explanation for why she did it those confirm some of the worst suspicions about Hillary Clinton. Reporter at the News Conference, clinton avoided talking about the impact this could have on a potential run for the white house as some questioned why she waited more than a week to address this issue. A plane on its way to honolulu was forced to return to oakland because of the problem with an aircraft. Flight 47 suffered a nonemergency engine issue. It had to burn or dump fuel to go back to oakland returning about three hours after it took off. The passengers were transferred to another plane that Hawaiian Airlines brought in from san jose so all the passengers could continue on their flight. Investigators still trying to figure out why two cars of a Freight Train derailed today in san jose. At one point it took drivers more than two hours to get from highway 4 to the bay bridge toll plaza. The city of berkeley is proposing a new law to require some Liquor Stores to have surveillance cameras. The ordnance will be voted on in a few hours. Reporter this is all prompted by two different homicides that took place here at bings liquor. Store owners tell us they support the idea of this law and said that many are already on board with having cameras inside and outside their stores. Ray is no stranger to hightech security cameras. I think the latest technology. Reporter ray has security cameras surrounding his store and outside the premises. Its something the city of berkeley wants many downtown Liquor Stores to get on board with. Councilman chris worthington. I dont think this is drastic. I dont think its going to solve the whole problem of violence and crime connected to alcohol. But its just one small tool to help us try to address it. Reporter the city hopes more cameras will equal safer neighborhoods and of course another resource for police. A study showed a majority of the businesses already have security cameras. This new law comes at a time when crime is on the decline for 11 consecutive years in berkeley. Still city leaders say its needed. The safety of the public is worth a small investment. You have to have your eyes open all the time in any business you have, a liquor store or any kind of business thats what i say to everybody. Reporter el cerrito passed a similar ordnance in 2007. Very grim, thats the assessment of our water supply. The general general manager of east bay mud said supply levels could reach a low not seen since the late 70s. Conservation efforts are dismal. On the subject of water, in the south bay, the Santa Clara Valley water board will hold a Public Meeting to discuss a possible rate hike because of the draught. The rate increase is more than three times higher than last years increase. The hike would generate over 42 million from moving water from sources outside of Santa Clara County. Marin county sheriffs deputies said today they found evidence of detonation of an explosive device at a home in novato. Authorities say after searching the home they couldnt actually find the device itself. Neighbors had complained of loud explosions at the house yesterday afternoon. At a Court Hearing this morning, both 43yearold lauren lee mason, the woman who lives at the home, and 33yearold robert lee spear pleaded not guilty to last months charges. Theyll both be back in court march 30th. Right now, testimony is wrapping up for the day in a sexual bias suit against a prestigious Silicon ValleyVenture Capital firm. Ellen powe is stewing the firm for 16 million. Powe testified for a second day saying shed been retaliated against and then fire after she filed a complaint. She underwent crossexamination including questions about her affair with a coworker. The firm denies wrongdoing and says powe performed poorly as a junior partner. Several hundred workers in the bay area waiting for their paychecks finally collected their overdue money today. About 700 workers with Gca Services Group didnt get paid last friday because of bad weather in tennessee that impacted the fedex hub. About 70 of those workers clean up San Jose City facilities including the police department, airport and city hall. We talked to a few this morning who didnt want us to show their faces because of concern for their jobs. Im living paycheck to paycheck. If i dont get my check, im behind. The paychecks finally did arrive at the companys office last night and were told all workers should get their checks by the end of the day. The Santa Clara County board of supervisors today approved a program to improve the lives of people who work at nail salons. The countys healthy nail salon Recognition Initiative will promote the wellbeing of what it calls a potentially vulnerable workforce. The new regulations focus on making the countys roughly 2,000 nail salons a safer place attempting to educate salon owners on how to cut down on the use of potentially toxic chemicals. For now the program is voluntary. This building is set to become a new arts center for the nonprofit route division. There will be space for clams and exhibit space. The division was pushed out of its Mission District home because of escalating rents. The group got a 75,000 grant from the city to make the move to mid market. The owners of the building also gave them a break on the rent because they like what the group does for the community. The professional businesswomen of california conference.
