district. says it needs to make $5.6 million in cuts immediately, saying most from the central office but also eliminate funding for school supplies. closed door session, then public comment, administration for the budgets shortfall, no decision was made tonight. >> pg&e is trying to figure out what caused a gas explosion in san francisco, no one was hurt but ripped through apartment building and caused major damage. lilian kim is on mission with the latest tonight. >> dan, crews have been going door to door, relighting pilot lights and inspecting the underground pipe they believe was the source of the leak. after looking at the damage, it's hard to believe no one was hurt. explosion ripped through this burnell heights apartment building around 10:00 a.m. carmen wasn't home but returned to neighborhood and feared the worst. >> my son was inside, and this is my son maybe, maybe he's dead, i don't know. >> reporter: her son is deaf, didn't hear the blast but felt the building shake. explosion blew out windows and garage door. took pg&e crews three hours to cap off gas lines from both ends. >> tedious task that included turning off two valves at offsite location and digging up holes behind me. >> nearly 500 people without service most of the day and at least 100 expected to be without until tuesday as pg&e investigate, hired a third party to find the cause of the leak. bank of america in downtown concord before 3:00 p.m., demand money and ran away with the cash. detailed description helped police find the suspect minutes later. stolen money has been returned. asking
