broadcast center, this is abc7 news. >> now at 11:00, the el nino-en mans -- el nino-enhanced storm leaves a woman dead after her car flipped on its side. it is one of several problems. >> this as we track the showers and more rain is on the way. i'm dan ashley. >> and i'm ama daetz. let's start with new video. drivers are dealing with street flooding. you can see the showers that are continuing. >> and in the east bay and pleasant hill there was a crash involving a police cruiser. one person had to go to the hospital. >> on the coast we are watching the waves. abc news was in pacifica as huge waves pounded the pier before 8:00. >> it is rainy here, but it is a cold and snowy night in the sierra. this is near donner summit. chains are required. >> we have live team coverage and let's start with sand yaw patel and live doppler 7hd. sandhya? >> it is still active on live doppler 7hd. what we have been waiting for years now, take a look. it is the soaking conditions across parts of the bay area as moderate rain comes in. in the north bay we are seeing lighter showers in pet lemieux and nava -- petaluma and novato. we have a small stream flood advisory for central sonoma county. they have seen minor flooding and there is still a possibility so keep that in mind. in the east bay from hercules to richmond and oakland we are seeing berkeley, piedmont and heavy rain out of the oakland area. mcarthur boulevard you can see that it is steel coming down. still coming down. as we look in the peninsula, they are also seeing light to moderate rain. san jose is seeing the wet weather down to monterey. mount hamilton is seeing a little bit of snow here. as i take you in closer and mixing in with the rain, on the street level radar, on the storm impact scale today is a 3. the second part of the system is coming in tomorrow and could bring risk of coastal flooding with high tides and large swell. it is a 1 on the storm impact scale. it is a light storm. thursday 4:00 to 10:00 a.m. the high tides and the large swells could cause low-lying flooding. we have the high surf warning until 2:00 tomorrow afternoon. westerly swells 15 to 20 feet will continue with the large breakers so watch out along the coastline. several more storms are coming and we'll take a look at them coming up. >> sandhya, thanks very much. >> katie continues our team coverage from pacifica. katie, wild waves are pounding the coast. >> yes. there have been wild waves. we will keep an eye over the shoulder and you can see the waves splashing on the sidewalk. despite the fact that this can be a dangerous area, you can bet people come out to watch. >> don't turn your back on the ocean, folks. >> i lived here about a year and this is as crazy as it has gotten. the guy has to get out and he loves walking near the ocean and i love taking pictures. >> the waterfront is not fit foreman or beast. the roads are blocked and the roads closed early. >> the waves are quite large. we are having fun though. >> they are coming on to the sidewalk and it is pretty crazy waves. >> we are delighted to see this weather. >> things are delighted with the storm. >> there are no rescues because nobody went out on the water. the storm was predicted. >> joshua says it is not worth it. >> it is not a working environment. >> it is not the rain. it is the swell and the wind. >> if the wind is under 20, 25 knots we will go out and fish even in the rain. we have rain gear. >> the rain gives hope to the salmon season. we watch the waves out here. it is not only up and over the fence, but across the entire road to the homes on the other side. they warn you to keep aware of the ocean if you are this close. abc7 news. >> thank you. and from the north bay to the south bay in the peninsula to the east bay, the heavy rain left behind damage problems and here is a look alt some of the trouble spots. you can see the car was stuck in several feet of floodwater. the weight of the car was on her ankle. the storm turned this street into a small river. sky 7hd shows the flood at green valley and thomas roads. the highway patrol says a nearby creek over flowed from all of the rain. three cars in san francisco's lafayette park were damaged when a tree fell this morning. the treat hit a porsche, jeep and volvo parked on washington street. no one was hurt. and despite all of the rain, south bay res -- south bay reservoirs are far below capacity. abc7 news was at the lexington reservoir where it is only at 13% capacity. that's actually 4% lower than two months ago. a reminder, trust the abc7 the body in the trunk of a car. police want your help now finding maximzucof. police found him in the trunk of his own car. police determine the murder may have happened at the victim's house. they are not sure why the car was driven to richmond. two east bay school employees are now suspended after a varied yow surfaced on-line -- after a video surfaced on-line. it happened at a special needs school that contracts with contra costa county. leslie brinkley has new information. a 9-year-old boy -- >> a 9-year-old boy is held and then pushed to the floor. the video was posted on snap chat on tuesday night and went viral. by wednesday morning antioch police showed up to interview witnesses. they then arrested 26-year-old jakura at her home for felony child abuse. other parents at the school were angry when they first found out about the assault on facebook. it was not from the school. >> i don't think no staff member should be doing a kid like that. >> they are not normal kids. they are special needs. we bring our kids to trust the school. we don't bring our kids to get abused and have marks on their body. >> other parents say they have reported incidents at the school to police. katherine kirk described the day when her daughter was injured. >> they restrained her and they called it an approved technique, but they left marks and bruises on her upper arms. >> there were other noncompliance issue. the state suspended their license in august and they made some corrections and it was just lifted last week. the school issued a statement saying we immediately suspended the staff involved. they called children and family services. the students in the video returned uninjured and has been in class all day. leslie brinkley, abc7 news. or organizers on the rose bowl may change the way for bands. the routine had a cow costumes and cow tipping. rose bowl officials say it was not in line with the values of the game. stanford has not commented. still ahead close. in china right now it is about 3:15 and the stock market is shutdown. it has been shutdown for hours after the market fell 7% in the first 30 minutes. a new circuit breaking mechanism triggered the shutdown. the nikkei and the hang seng are both down over 2%. a 1-year-old australian shepherd found badly injured over the weekend is back with its owners. look at bella. shortly after being reunited with her family, the family had dropped bella at dirty dog's fitness. the owner of the facility said bella was aggressive and wouldn't come out of the kennel so he left the door open and she escaped. the next thing anyone knew is she was found with fractured bones and under an over pass. it is unclear how she got there. >> bella has a sweet face. >> she does. boy these storms are lined up like flights leaving sfo tonight. >> that's right. sandhya patel is here with more of the timing on what's to come. >> we will see more showers and more rain. tomorrow we will ease up a little on that rain. dan and 8 ma -- dan and ama, it is still very wet across parts of the bay area. i will take you in closer here. first to the south bay where we are seeing moderate rain. blossom hill road around the san jose area and santa clara and willow creek. we are also seeing pockets of moderate rain. loss altos hills east palo alto and redwood city. and we go into the east bay pleasanton area where they are seeing rain around the sinole area. lafayette, you are seeing spotty, light showers and then up to the north bay where it is very light right now. we continue to see some of the the -- some of this developing around petaluma. that's where you could see some problems going into the wee hours. be aware of the creeks if you live near them. now, we did have some pretty crazy weather. a tornado north of hollister at 8:50 and a fum cloud was reported in castroville. as you know we have seen it all and we have had reports down around monterey bay and one report of hail. the snow continues, but it is starting to wind down at least with this system. southern california has had its share. you can see some moisture going in. lightning strikes have been continuing to develop off the southern california coast. we saw hundreds of lightning strikes earlier off our coastline. now we take a look at the rainfall totals. you will notice santa rosa, this is rainfall so far. they updated them a short time ago. it is almost an inch in san francisco. san rafael and half moon bay and oakland and napa. .71 in fair field. san jose you are picking up half an inch. livermore a third of an inch. and as you look at the temperatures, they are in the 40s for most of you with the cloud cover. emeryville camera beautiful view and clouds outside. scatter ited showers. sun and showers for your thursday. your next storm coming in friday night. here is a look at the current system. the showers will taper. the morning commute is nothing like this morning. it will ease up. we head into the afternoon at 1:00. we will see a few pop up showers and sun out there as well. 5:00 p.m. tomorrow evening we are looking at light to moderate rain and going into 8:00 p.m. a brief downpour is not out of the question. 11:00 as well. on the storm impact scale it is a 1. it is a light system between friday night and early saturday. breezy at times and less than half an inch for most areas. friday 4:00 p.m. your get away is not looking so bad, the commute. 5:00 p.m., spotty showers in the north bay and very light. 8:00 p.m. it is still light. north and east bay. look what happens at 11:00 p.m. steady rain moves in and light to moderate in the early morning hours. it will start to wind down and then by noontime it is all done actually. as far as the sierras are concerned. there is a winter weather advisory and they are expected above 4,000. they will see another storm going up with the system friday into saturday. upper 30s to upper 40s and we will still have slick roadways and spotty showers. make sure you have the umbrella with you. you will need the umbrella at times well into the afternoon when you see a few showers. also need the shades. temperatures in the 50s for tomorrow afternoon. accu-weather seven-day forecast, the second part of the storm is coming in tomorrow. it is a 1 on the impact scale. friday into saturday another one. monday one. wednesday, one. you get those breaks between saturday afternoon and sunday and another break on tuesday. those will be key to keeping our series problems at bay ama and dan. >> there saw lot more to come on the news at
