Police are looking for the gunman that put a man in the hospital. Lets get to sergio live with details on the shooting and backup, sergio . Reporter this happened around 3 45 in the afternoon with plenty of vehicles on the freeway but Police Say Two witnesses have so far helped them with the very generic description of the suspect vehicle, a white suv. Investigators hope more witnesses will come forward. Police arrived within minutes of the 911 calls that shut down highway 242 after 3 45 today. Drivers were diverted off the freeway as police combed over the asphalt looking for clues that may help track down the shooter, police say the victim was able to drive himself to the hospital in concord. The victim was struck a couple times to his upper body. There was gunshot holes on the left side of his vehicle. Reporter officers talk with him briefly before he went into surgery but he could only give minimal information and only a couple witnesses could describe the white suv. That freeway at that time was probably packed with cars and probably multiple witnesses that saw what happened but didnt want to call or report it and we strongly encourage witnesses that saw it to call our dispatch center because we would love to talk to them. Reporter highway 242 was shut down for a couple hours. It was reopened before 6 30. Police dont have a motive and dont know if this is somehow connected to other freeway shootings that happened recently in the east bay.
