two fans attacked at levi stadium and one person severely injured. good evening. it is a story we first brought you on abc7 news at 9:00. right now abc7 news reporter lilian kim is live at levi stadium with what we have learned about the assault. lilian? >> katie, it happened just before kickoff inside levi stadium in one of the bathrooms. santa clara police say they arrested two men for felony assaults. investigators say the attack happened in a bathroom in the 300mezzanine section. the two male victims were taken to the hospital and a source tells abc7 that the injuries to one of the victims are severe injuries to the head. santa clara police aren't releasing the names of anyone involved and won't say if they were 49er fans, chief fans or both. but they did say this is the second assault to have occurred at levi stadium since it opened. >> we had two incidents at the stadium. one being a domestic violence assault and now coupled with a different assault right now. they are slightly different as far as the charge, but assault they are. >> now, in an e-mail a spokesperson wrote "the 49ers are aware of the incident and have been in close contact to assist in anyway possible on the matter. neither the 49ers nor the police are saying much about what happened. we hope to have more information tomorrow. lilian kim, abc7 news. >> lilian, thank you. new at 11:00, a pedestrian is seriously injured after being hit by a car. the driver took off. it happened around 7:30 tonight in the mission district. witnesses say the victim was crossing dubois avenue when the car which was going faster than other traffic hit the person hard and kept driving. >> he flipped over the top of the car and landed on the roof. the car kept driving and sped up and then drove off faster and went several blocks and turned on market. >> the driver ended up in the back of a police officer's patrol car at market and laguna streets after finally stoping there a couple blocks away. police suspect he may have tried to throw something out of his car before stoping. officers have detained him for questioning. police are searching for a suspect who lead police on a chase and then rammed into the patrol car. the officers tried to stop the vehicle for reckless driving at 4:30 outside the trailer mobile home park. the driver lead police on a high speed chase for two miles and that pursuit ended in a cul-de-sac near wood land avenue. >> it made a u-turn and faced head of on with the officer and as he exited the vehicle, the suspect vehicle accelerated and rammed the front of the patrol car. the officer fearing for his life fired at the driver at the suspect vehicle. >> police are not sure if the driver was wounded because the driver took of on. the officer is now on routine paid leave. >> it certainly was another hot day. this is from our exploratorium camera. abc7 news meteorologist here now with a first check of weather and live doppler 7hd. in my opinion, good news about a cool down. >> you do not like the heat so you will find the seven-day forecast to your liking. looking outside and you can see city hall all lit up in orange for the game against the giants. but the big story was the drop in temperatures. generally a light breeze helped oakland, san jose and san rafael drop a couple of degrees. the tbiggest -- the biggest drop was where the sea breeze kicked in. it dropped anywhere from 13 to 17 dries. 17 degrees. more typical temperatures. right now san francisco is at 57 and still 70s on the border with concord and antioch. some spots are mild and some spots are cool. we will have a wide range of temperatures for monday morning. we will talk about that and have the accu-weather seven-day forecast when i join you in a bit. >> local firefighters shared a message. heat coupled with three years of drought equals extreme fire danger across the bay area. fire departments hosted open houses as part of national fire prevention week. they saw how firefighters test humidity every day. >> our fuel is at critical levels. the fuel moisture which tells us we are in extreme fire conditions right now. >> in san francisco aspiring firefighters of all ages learned the right way to use a fire distinguisher to keep a small fire from growing. one of san francisco's fireboats showed off its abilities. they can spray water to fires on land as they did after the 1989 loma prieta earthquake. mayor ed leigh has a plan to make sure san francisco's ambulance usa rife as quickly as possible. the mayor believes using more privately owned ambulances will shorten wait times. several groups called on the mayor to remove the fire chief. one was delayed in getting city-owned ambulances to the medical calls. one of the biggest critics weighed in on the plan. >> this is a part of the solution, but it is not the whole solution. ultimately we as a city should make sure this never happens again and we don't have to come in and hire private companies. the city standards call for ambulances to arrive on scene within 10 minutes to call for a life-threatening emergency. the power is back on in the east bay. more than 10,000 customers lost power. the outage covered parts of oakland and uh rine do. this is video of saint teresa's and as you can see in the dark. power was restored by 7:30. the giants are one win away from advancing to the national championship league series and the lights are decked out in giant colors to mark the occasion. you can see city hall and we have a live look at coit tower. tomorrow the far the body of only one man has been found. the search for the other two was interrupted by rough sea. two people bitten by sharks on the same stretch of beach within minutes of each other and just two days after an attack in southern california. here is lyndsay janice. >> reporter: a terrifying ordeal for two surfers on a florida beach. both attacked by sharks within minutes of each other. at 11:00 a.m. a 15-year-old boy surfing off the shore of new smir gnaw beach, bitten on his foot. this photograph tweeted from his hospital bed. and then a mile south another surfer bitten and the latest numbers show florida was the shark attack capital of the world with 23 incidents. valusia county was the leader with eight. half of those at new smyrna beach. experts say anyone who has swam at the beach has been within 10 feet of a shark. it comes after friday night's close call between a group of kayakers and a great white off the coast of california. >> those are holes from a great white shark. >> they were rescued by two fishermen, button counters are the giant shark are becoming more common. a recent report said the great white population has increased an estimated 42%. that's since 1997. one of the reasons, a federal ban on hunting them. tonight more lucky survivors with incredible stories to tell. lyndsay janice, abc news, new york. >> animal control officers are investigating claims that a pizzeria ordered its workers to kill a baby possom in santa cruz. he saw the animal in a garbage can and two employees poured bleach on it. the chef then quit his job and drove the opossom where he died. south beach pizza company would not comment tonight. the supreme court starts a new term tomorrow. the chief justice john roberts will begin his 10th year ahead of the court and his fifth with the same lineup of judges. this term the court appears likely to take on the issue of same-6 marriage and decide whether gay and lesbian couples have a constitutional right to marry. a federal judge is scheduled to hear arguments on friday in a case filed by five gay couples challenging alaska's ban on same-6 marriage. they say it is unconstitutional and they take issue with the state that says the u.s. supreme court has never held there is a fundamental constitutional right to same-sex marriage. it was a blessing of the beasts today in oakland. dozens of people brought their pets to the 15th annual event at skyline united church of christ. creatures of all kinds, dogs and cat and geckos and even horses took part. the tradition blesses the animals because they bless us. it temperatures in the upper 50s to the mid60s. we will offer a little fog along the coast in san francisco, but the bay a few clouds out there, 57 to 64 will be your starting range of temperatures. if tonight's headlines, santa clara police have arrested two men accused of assaulting two other men in a restroom at levi stadium. the attack took place before today's game between kansas city and the 49ers. both victims went to the hospital. sources tell abc7 news that one is in serious condition. a man suffered serious injuries after being hit by a car after crossing the street in the mission district. witnesses say the driver sped away from the scene, but the driver has since been detained. the san francisco mayor ed leigh believes using more private ambulances for medical emergencies will reduce delays. the fire department employees have called for removing chief joanne hades -- hayes white cited for partly delays in getting ambulances to emergencies. an american photo journalist who contracted ebola while working in -- liberia is headed back tonight. the first person diagnosed with ebola in america continues to fight for his life. abc news reporter with the latest. >> reporter: with one ebola patient struggling to survive at a dallas hospital, another patient we are told is in great spirits set to arrive in nebraska on monday for treatment. he is nbc news freelance cameraman who just last week tested positive for ebola in liberia. back in dallas, frustration from thomas duncun's girl friend. >> i want them to take care of the medicine. the other americans who
