Heres how some people describe navigating San Francisco. Its pretty crowded and a little bit scary. Reporter the city wants the experience to be better and now after years of debate, officials have a plan to drastically change the Market Street corridor. Most notably, private cars including uber and lyft will be banned from tenth street east. I dont like it because thats how i make my living. I pick up employees for work here from the em bark dare row station and drive them in. I dont know where id be able to pick them up if i couldnt do it on Market Street. Reporter San Franciscos public works director says cross traffic will still be allowed. Commercial vehicles and delivery trucks will have access to the curb lane while muni will have exclusive use of the center lanes. The idea is to reduce the amount of congestion on it, make it a beautiful street and a beautiful urban place where people can enjoy it and have a great experience. Reporter they show the new proposed look including a sidewalk level bike lane. Im excited about one thats completely separate. Reporter the brick pedestrian sidewalk will be replaced with concrete pavers. It does get slippery. I dont know if concrete is better. Reporter it has an estimated 604 million price tag. The city already has about 100 million set aside for construction. Construction is expected to begin at the very end of next year. It will be completed in six different phases. Shares went up 6 after a strong earnings report. New this morning, President Trump just unveiled new legislation to reduce Legal Immigration to the u. S. The bill is a revised version of an Immigration Reform act introduced in february. Its called the raise act. The president says it would change the system from granting legal residency or green cards by giving priority to highly skilled immigrants. This competitive application process will favor applicants who can speak english, financially support themselves and their families, and demonstrate skills that will contribute to our economy. The president made the announcement this morning alongside senators tom cotton of arkansas and david perdue of georgia. Its unclear when the senate may take up this bill. President trump has reluctantly signed into law new sanctions against russia. The bill was aimed at punishing the country for its interfer election. The bill also applies new sanctions to iran and north korea, the president is not happy with the bill, calling it significantly flawed because it hinders his ability to negotiate. One mom is sharing her experience about her daughter who wouldnt wake up from a nap. Heres abc News Reporter with the story. Reporter during a recent heat wave, 23yearold mom two of jennifer ama kept her girls nods avoid the heat. Eventually putting her twoyearold anastasia down for an afternoon nap. While there was no fan in the room and no airconditioning, jennifer says the shades were down and a window cracked. Came upstairs and it was like a sauna in her room. Reporter but when jennifer checked on her daughter after about 90 minutes, she noticed something was wrong. Her face was swollen and red and she was sweating. And she felt like somebody lit her on fire. Reporter jennifer quickly called for help and when the ambulance arrived, her daughters internal temperature had reached 104 degrees. Hour after i was playing with her basically, it was her on a death bed. Reporter the paramedics treated her who woke up after about five minutes. Jennifer later posting this picture on instagram to warn other parents. The reason i posted it is because i dont the president to happen to somebodys els baby. It was horrifying.
