It shows Police Officers fanning out where they found a body of a man lying in the middle of the lane shot and wounded. He was pronounced dead on the scene. At a house nearby, they found a woman who was wounded, at least one time. They have taken her away to the hospital, shes at Regional Medical center in san jose and believed to be they believe that she is going to survive. Her wound or wounds. The police were fanned out throughout this neighborhood to try to figure out exactly what was going on. Other than the body that was in the middle of the street, they had no witnesses immediately to tell them had there been an argument, some sort of altercati altercation, what was behind this. They went door to door to piece together what happened. Now there were some individuals who were brought out and detained briefly by San Jose Police, they were put had in handcuffs. There were two adult women, and a child not put in handcuffs. They were detained for an hour or so while they were trying to put together what happened at the scene. Its believed those individuals in hand did yo haves were tenants of a house possibly where the woman had been found wounded. Thats what we understand at this point. San jose police are still trying to fill us in on all the details of exactly what happened. This is officially being handled by the San Jose Police homicide unit, and they are, of course, on the scene here now. And they expect to have this street blocked off for quite a while. Abc 7 news learned in the past 9 90 minutes, the suspect is also linked to another Violent Crime in the bay area. This happened nearly a decade ago. So here is a look at the suspect we are talking about. Investigators say he used the deputys own gun to shoot that deputy in the face last night. The 27yearold is now jailed on attempted murder charges. Deputy alex ladwig a four year veteran of the department is still in the hospital. He is stable after undergoing extensive surgery to his jaw last night. The shooting happened at a light rail station around 6 00. Investigators say span attacked the deputy, grabbed his gun, and then fired two shots. Now back in 2008, span was arrested in the shooting deaths of a brother and sister during a robbery in mountainview, three men were convicted in those murders in december, but not span. He is charged with 11 counts of sex crimes against children, that could bring a sentence of 165 years to life if convicted.
