keep the flames from jumping to an apartment complex. >> there is an alley between but embers can fly. we make sure the fire is contained to the strip mall. authorities have not characterized it as away in maverick. the training is taking place in the bay. here's the rescuers who are going to be here when the big waves arrive. it will be inevitable a surfer will go down and they will need help. it is smooth sailing off the point at half moon bay today. do not let the calm waters surprise you. rescue groups are ready for a turbulent winter. el nino is. coming. >> the possibility for more big waves, for more consistent periods of time, and with that, more people in the water and everything that may go from the land side to the water could be of concern. >> the window for the famous surfing contest opens november 1 through march 31, 2016. when the call goes up, 24 of the best conditioned big wave surfing professionals will take on the mountain of water that can reach up to 60' high. it is not just the surfers who need to be ready, the water rescue team will need to be in tiptop shape here to fit in with the other rescue teams. they have been in the water with the surfers before when no one is watching. >> there is obviously a scary element to it but all gays all have tons of experience and we have been doing it for years and helping each other out. >> once the rescuers are out of the water they will go inside and go over different rescue scenarios. this training could come in handy soon. they expect big waves in the area by the end of the month. >> tough cut, right? >> as first, we will dispel a el nino of what it is not. it is not a weather phenomenon. what it is, abnormally water water right here in white and red along the equator. this is influencing our weather pattern so a stronger el nino has potentially greater impact on our wet pattern pushing the storms toward us. each individual storm is going to create its own wave. i cannot tell you right new if we are going to have a tremendous wave season but you would think with a stronger el nino if place more storms and heading to us we possibly could have a better maverick season than we have had during or coming into contact with sick patients. hand washing is important and officials worry there could be more victims pause symptoms can take up to a week to appear. though believe someone proposing average and a hint of rain on sunday and wednesday. we will tack about the winds and notice they are light and variable if not blowing off share. you can see fairfield at 12 miles per hour and 14 at half moon bay so you are rid of the fog and that was the only place along the peninsula coast and watch the winds as they try to eradicate that. you may see clouds off in the distance but a sun glasses day for all of us. the big part shows the area of high pressure to our northeast sliding away from us but, still, having an affect on us as far as the 50 shore flow but you can see the storm track nearing us so we will have a few more high clouds and will not be completely sunny like we are today. even with the high clouds we will be under the glue of the warmer air mass. today it is putting our coast and into san francisco in the low-to-mid 70s and upper 70s around richmond and san mateo and the immediate neighborhoods and everyone else, like oakland, san jose, concord, all the way up to santa rosa and napa in the low-to-mid 80s. tonight it is another cool one, especially to the north, upper 40s napa, santa rosa, danville, possibly dublin and alamo in the upper 40s and everyone else in the low-to-mid 50s until richmond and antioch at 57 degrees. here is what is going do ham open saturday, watching an area of low pressure wandering off track here and yesterday it was looking a little bit closer to us and now you can see saturday evening and into sunday it is heading north but it is still dipping down on sunday with a chance of drizzle in the morning and maybe a stray shower on sunday evening. enjoy, we will fast forward forward to olaf and the cold present. we will have a better chance starting tuesday into wednesday of heavier rain. he is my seven-day
