mother and registered nurse afraid to go home says she's the victim of years of racially-motivated terror, accusing her white next door neighbors of throwing feces and dead animals in her yard. >> the last straw was the dead squirrels for me. i think enough was enough at that point. >> reporter: monday, nassau county's district attorney charged john mceneaney and mindy canarick with harassing neighbor jennifer mcleggan, saying it began in april 2017, when mcleggan, then pregnant, moved into her home on new york's long island. authorities say the harassment included the couple throwing feces on their neighbor's lawn and shooting a pellet gun repeatedly across her property, causing her to live in fear for years. >> in this case, you know, all of us have to deal sometimes ith bad neighbors, bu crost seisd inthto the realm of criminality. >> reporter: in july, out of fear for her life, mcleggan posted this now viral sign on her door detailing the harassment.
