The prize inside the claw machine crawls in instead. Stop it. Dont move. How did he get in there . And what his mom did to him when he finally got out. That mom was not a happy camper in that shot. But the boy seemed to be having a lot of fun. Good morning, america, dan harris is on assignment this weekend. Nice to have dan abrams back in. Good morning to you. Its sunday, august 18th. Busy morning. More protests in egypt as the government considers the drastic move of banning the Muslim Brotherhood. Sure to heighten tensions on both sides as new concerns arise this morning about the fate of priceless antiquities, some of them already stolen from museums and destroyed. Fears they are moving to an allout civil war. Also ahead, another of the baseball biggest stars slapped with a very long suspension. Former mvp Miguel Tejada busted for taking adderall. Well tell you what the drug does and why he says he was using it. And at one point, the league aloud him to use it. Of course, that was banned. Its sad. Well tell you about it. And well tell you about a global battle about one of Michael Jacksons famous white gloves. The u. S. Government trying to keep it from the son of an african dictator and well tell you why. Thats all coming up. First out west, crews are battling major wildfires out of control in utah and idaho. Two of the blazes near posh communities that are holiday getaway spots for some of hollywoods biggest stars. Abcs bazi kanani has the story. Reporter more than 10,000 homeowners worried this morning in sun valley, idaho, that this windswept fire could suddenly head their way. Roads out are packed as people in more than 3,000 homes have been forced to evacuate. Its coming down the mountainside. Right there. So now its just kind of wait and see what happens. Cant control it. Reporter the fire in this after fluent ski resort area, where celebrities like tom hanks and Arnold Schwarzenegger own homes is now the nations top firefighting priority. The resort is using snowmaking machines to douse the mountain. Insurance companies are sending private fire trucks to protect multimillion dollar properties. The smoke so thick even crews at a nearby air quality station had to get out. Roland beres, from kivi, our local affiliate, describes the scene. Today its obscured by smoke and causing a lot of problems for the people in the area who are Wearing Masks or bandanas to keep the smoke and ash out of their lungs. Reporter the beaver creek fire has devoured more than 145 square miles since last week. And its not nearly under control. More than 700 firefighters there now challenged by the same type of erratic fire tornadoes or fire whirls that are whipping around and spreading flames in the other parts of the western u. S. 42 wildfires are raging in 11 states from alaska down to arizona. The heat and drought speeding the pace of this years fire season, already one of the deadliest on record. 31 killed so far. And the burning expected to last for several more weeks. Bazi kanani, abc news, denver. Ginger zee is tracking the conditions as firefighters battle those blazes. Hey, ginger. Hey, dan, not good. Its not going to improve all that much. Ene i want to show, idaho and utah, really the ones that were focused on. And they have the hot and dry conditions throughout the day today. Red flag warnings, and fire warnings for california and other states because of thunderstorms. And you say, well, thunderstorms sound good. Its bittersweet. You get the storm. You get gusty winds, and more lightning, more fires. We have to go to the other side of the country. We were talking about the flooding for the last two weeks, really. Panama city looked like this yesterday. They had anywhere from 508 inches of rain. And parts of georgia, more than a foot. I want to check in on panama city this morning. An earth cam, nice shot of the beach, but youre going to see more scattered showers. Not as bad as yesterday. So at least thats some good news. Let me show you whats happening. We have the stationary front right here. All of the gulf moisture feeding up. But this dry air behind it is not allowing it to get to the places that need it most. That would be texas. Its going to keep filtering in in northern florida. An idea of how much falls in the next couple of days. Well, 2 to 3 inches in the panhandle and parts of the gulf. More in the nations weather. For now, back to bianna. I still cant get over the images of the fire tornados. All right, ginger, thank you. Turn overseas to egypt. A key american ally. That countrys interim Prime Minister is considering a drastic move to end the violence by disbanding the Muslim Brotherhood. Enraging protesters. Hundreds believed to be killed in the last week alone. Now theres concern over the fate of priceless antiquities being destroyed at the countrys museums. Abcs phew Muhammad Lila is keeping a close eye on the developments from cairo. Reporter good morning, bianna. The Muslim Brotherhood is continuing its defiance, announcing more protest marches, all set to begin within the next few hours. This morning, cairo woke up to this, the heaviest Police Presence we have seen here in days. The armys Armored Vehicles on every major street, even guarding tahrir square, so central to egypts democratic revolution two years ago. It comes as the ongoing violence continues to spiral out of control, with angry civilians now taking up arms against the Muslim Brotherhood. In this video, watch this woman here in black. Shes a Muslim Brotherhood supporter who has just been released from a mosque. In less than 30 seconds, shes surrounded by an angry mob and attacked. The military intervened to keep her safe. Many christians are afraid, worried more churches like this one will be attacked. This man guarding a church in cairo telling us earlier, of course im worried. But im ready to protect this church with my life. Even the ancient treasures of egypt arent safe. These photos show looting and destruction at the malawi museum. Glass cases smashed, and priceless statues destroyed. Now the government here is justifying the crackdown, saying that police have been showing restraint. And that this is a war on terror against islamic militants bent on overthrowing this country. Bianna and dan. All right, muhammad, thank you. Well, the unrest is proving to be a tough test for the obama administration. Host of abcs this week george stps stephanopoulos joins the discussion. Good morning. A lot of people are saying, why is the u. S. Not doing more . The concern betting on the wrong horse . The real concern there may not be a good horse if this fight. For months when the Muslim Brotherhood was in charge after they had been elected, the United States pressed them to be more inclusive, to open up the governing process. They ignored the United States. The military comes in, the United States presses them not to have violent crackdowns. Theyre ignored as well. So far president obama has avoided suspending military aid to egypt because he wants to maintain our influence. But if this continues, if the military continues to ignore u. S. Pleas to calm down the violence, they may have no choice but to suspend aid. And of course, we know, the embassy in cairo is closed there because of the escalating violence. I want to get back to domestic policy. Is president wrapping up his vacation at marthas vineyard. We have images of the president playing golf yesterday with larry david. Aside from him being on vacation, hes coming back to a lofty, lofty administration. And hes got immigration reform, gun control, a deficit deal. What, if any, can he accomplish . Hes got a big fall coming up. That is why he cut his vacation short. He only went eight days this year instead of the normal two weeks. And the big problem for the president is theyre facing three showdowns with the congress over shutting down the government, over the debt limit over the sequester, which has already led to severe cuts in government funding. And the president has precious little leverage there. But he believes and the white house believes that the Republican Party is in an even weaker position. That if they shut down the government over their cause to defund obamacare, they will relegate themselves to a minority status for a generation. They have a lot on their plate domestically and internationally. All right, george, thank you. Thanks a lot. Be sure to join george for all the latest on the crisis in egypt coming up on this week.
