pulled into a drive through ballot drop off station in martinez. the contra costa county registrar tells abc7 news more than 200,000 cast their votes in the county. many of those voting today told us they're trying to avoid standing in line tomorrow. in alameda county, 260,000 voters turned ballots in. in san francisco live team coverage continues with carolyn tyler in san francisco. here, they've shattered a couple of early voting records, one is for those thousands who showed up here at the city hall polling place this weekend. the other is for the total so far. drive by voting. others ventured down into the basement. over all, 32% of those eligible have already voted. a record for the city. >> i thought today if i come at noon, it would be crowded today. it was five minutes here and a couple minutes there. >> the electrics director believes the city is well on its way to a blockbuster turn out this year. >> we're going to have the second highest number of people voting in this election. >> that year, the city ushering in the barack obama presidency. there are 513,000 registered voters in san francisco. nearly half vote by mail. many others like to get that sticker that martinez had been driving off in a city yard. in a police department narrative obtained by abc7 news, that vice mayor shared with us today he writes as he listened martinez describe events i can smell the strong odor of alcohol. his slow pace narratives are indicators he was probably under the influence for alcohol. i did not want him driving home. >> no one mentioned that to me. and in fact, i i was under the impression i was getting a ride home. i had no identification. >> martinez says he did drink at the event. a police department spokesperson says the investigation focused on the robbery. 38-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene, a resident of san jose. another person was shot, but survived. police say they've made no arrests and have not identified a motive for the attack. san jose university warning students about a assault around 4:00 this morning. a woman went into a portable bathroom on south 7th street. a man followed her, forced open the door and assaulted her. her friends interrupted the attack and the man left on a bicycle. >> investigators are trying to track down a mountain bike owned by a teenager found stabbed to death. it's a 2007 mountain bike with tried to jump over in the car, over a center divider. the divider stopped her. she got out of the vehicle and jumped into the water. a coast guard boat retrieved her body. police have yet to identify are still trying to get all of the details here. it was confusing at first this morning, and once they made the link between the hit and run, and downtown martinez, in the collision and the suicide on the benicia-martinez bridge, things started to gel. we do know that the three victims are the husband, possibly his friend, and a witness he called in the divorce hearing. >> like crash, crash, crash. then, like it was like a whole audience of people yelling. >> juanita brand was coming out of the court house. she saw this >> sheriff deputies were around. >> police say the driver struck just after leaving the family law court house, one was her estranged husband. >> at which time, accelerated towards a group of people in court with her james iller works in the martinez harbor masters office. this is what he was told. >> woman was at the divorce court this morning. she got angry, and apparently after the proceedings, used her car to the bridge. >> sky 7 was there after the collision. >> tried to jump over in the car, over a center divider. the divider stopped her. she got out of the vehicle and jumped into the water. a coast guard boat retrieved her body. police have yet to identify her. they say. >> some sfo workers say they'll be out of a job tomorrow. today, some 156 workers held a strike. they shuttled to the rental car center. >> we wanted to get back the job. and then, everybody have the benefit, too. >> hertz hasn't responded to our request for comment. in the east bay, what members of the oakland fire department call a random act of kindness. it is life changing.
