burglary in san francisco. a merge and daughter visiting from north carolina are relieved tonight after police reunited them with their loved one's stolen ashes. reporter melanie wood row covered the story on wednesday after someone broke into their car on fisherman's wharf. >> coming to san francisco to spread her father's ashes in his favorite city, tonight they have a different plan for how to honor joe. the family especially thankful and hopeful their story will inspire a faster response for law enforcement if this ever happens to someone else. >> my plea worked. he is here with us. we've been reunited. >> julia wilkinson is clutching her father's ashes after losing him a second time. joe wilkinson died from a heart attack nearly eight months ago. julia and her mom arrived in san francisco. one of joe's favorite cities. they plan to spread his ashes but in the time they parked in fisherman's wharf garage waiting for their rim to be ready, someone broke into their car trunk, stealing a wallet, suitcase and joe's remains. >> that's a person. it is like robbing a grave. >> julia and mary called police. they were told to fill out an on-line report even after explained what was stolen. they then called reporters. we contacted sfpd thursday. officers met with the women at the garage to conduct a thorough investigation. saturday julia says they received the call. >> they told us someone turned him in to one of the undercover officers. there is no words to describe the joy and overwhelming love i had in my heart for having him in my hand and having him back with us. >> the family is deeply grateful and hopeful their sorry might help someone else. >> in the if you tour, if someone calls with a situation like this, i would hope they would listen a little more his hometown of melly wo mel melanie woodrow, abc 7 news. >> a man broadcast a murder on facebook live this this evening. steve stephens is considered armened and extremely dangerous. he was ordered to surrender and not take on any more violence. >> with whatever problems he is having, we are here to have a conversation with him. >> in the video, stephens also claimed to have killed several other people. police have not verified claims. his facebook page has since been deactivated and tonight fbi agent swroined local police in searching for stef yens. three people are wanted tonight for kidnapping and sexually assaulting a female in east oakland. police say it happened around 10:00 on international boulevard. they have not responded to our request for comment. the victim suffered bruising, swelling and minor cut and was taken to a hospital. nine teenl ageagers were in after someone opened fire on them. police say the victims were gathering outside a home on cal hoon street when someone inside a car across the street shot at them. an explosion at a motel in san jose left at least two people critically injured. fire crews say the blast just after midnight deskrtroyed one room. investigators say it was not immediately clear what caused the explosion. two san francisco police officers were injured today after a s a teenager who threatened to kmiet suicide. abc 7 news was in the city's mission district after the team was subdued by police and taken to the hospital for treatment. a spit hood was placed on the team, that's a device used to prevent him from spitting on others. police say they were called to the apartment at 27th and cap streets just after 11:00 a.m. to investigate someone who had been breaking windows. >> i noticed a bunch of glass on the floor. i'm thinking it is just car glass but there is a ton of it then the screen. so i realize it is from upstairs. >> two officers were hurt struggling with the teenager. they were taken to the hospital with nonlife threatening injuries. the teenager was also hospitalized to treat cuts on his fists after breaking the window with his bare hand. he will also undergo a psychiatric evaluation. berkeley police say there are likely to be more arrests following yesterday's violent confrontation between groups, support and opposition to president trump. berkeley police say 23 people were arrested and 7 facing felony charges. 11 people injured. the protest began at civic center park is heat but not violent. the violence grew as people streamed from the park and on to city streets. did you hear it? a cheer could be heard across the bay area as warriors won game one of the nba playoffs. the warriors pulled past the portland trailblazers. the game had extra special meaning for one young fan who had cancer a few years ago. his visit to oracle arena today for play off says extra special because it is one of the first times he has come here since he had a very rare surgery to help him walk again. today, one family fan got the vip treatment and up and close view of the warriors warming up. you have been on court side before, right? >> no. >> oh wow. the last time he was this close to his favorite player, steph curry, he had both legs. he was diagnosed with bone cancer and had his femur removed. he was pro filed and the surgical procedure called rotation plasty. you will notice his foot is rotated and reattached to what is left to his upper leg. >> it acts totally as a knee. the muscles of the calf which then become the front muscles of the thigh are more or less in tune with working at the right time. they have to adapt a little bit. >> when he arrived at oracle arena, he was quickly escorted to through the crowd and down the court. his thoprosthetic leg works wel with his atashed ltached leg an. he met his favorite play ear couple years ago. >> i went to a practice for the warriors in 2015 and steph curry gave me his jersey he wore to practice. >> this was a rusher. jarvis is a devoted fan and has been on the side lines for ohio state for years and is battling muscular dystrophy. they thanked jarvis yesterday by letting him punch in the final touchdown of this evening. tracking more light scattered showers moving through but additional rain fall is less than a tenth of an inch and breezy at times. future weather going hour by hour for you. by 9:00 in early morning hours on tuesday. so your monday planner, first thing in the morning, damp roads. but no showers. a lot of cloud cover and a lot of clouds throughout the day. however it will be a warmer day tomorrow than today. temperatures into the 60s instead of 50s we have right now. then tuesday morning, storm impact scale comes back and once again it is a light system with light showers, less than a quarter inch of rain and light wind. however it will impact tuesday morning commute. accuweather seven-day forecast planning seven days for you tomorrow. a lot of left over cloud cover. an
