No one could drive from colfax to the state line. This caltrans camera shows us i80 at colfax earlier and chp diverting traffic off i80. Well, in the south bay, San Jose City Officials Say the rain has not caused any issues for coyote creek. Meanwhile, hundreds of volunteers endured the wet weather this weekend to help clean up flooded neighborhoods. And abc7 news was in san jose for family flood relief day. The Farmers Union is 1 of 25 restaurants giving 25 of their intake today to help recovery efforts. Everybody is really willing, very willing to participate and share what they can. Thousands of people were forced to leave their homes with very little notice when coyote creek flooded last month. Most have now returned, but they lost just about everything. City officials are being criticized for not alerting residents early enough to the danger. Now to developing news. A big fire with a big impact. Some 40 people now looking for a new place to stay after an intense fire gutted the travel inn on lincoln road east in vallejo. Cornell bernard is there. Cornell, you spoke with some of the fire victims. Reporter matt, many People Living here at the travel inn say they lost everything in this fire. Tonight the red cross and Salvation Army helping displaced families with food and shelter. The Fire Department looking for a cause for this fire, which sent a lot of folks running. The raging fire spread out of control through 16 rooms of the travel inn about 9 30 a. M. Many tenants like tina wilson were sleeping at the time. My son ran in the room, woke me up, said, mom, the buildings on fire, and we grabbed what we could and ran out the door. Reporter tina and her son, trenton, grabbed their dog, honey biscuit, then warned other neighbors to get out. There was just black smoke everywhere, so i started banging on everybodys doors. Engulfed so fast. Within five minutes, the whole building was like. So, its too late to do anything. Reporter the only thing marvin scott could save was his backpack, which got badly burned. The Fire Department says everyone escaped the smoke and flames, but three people were treated for smoke inhalation. Firefighters were able to save this cat, but some pets are still missing. No wheelchairaccessible. They had to pull me down the stairs. He narrowly escaped. No fire detectors or nothing, man. Reporter this tenant made the same claim. We never was woke up from a smoke detector. We dont even have extinguishers. The roaches live in them. I dont have that information, if there were fire alarms that were sounding or anything like that at this point. Reporter the motel owner tells us the building was up to code. In vallejo, cornell bernard, abc7 news. Three Hayward Police officers are on paid leave after a Police Shooting overnight. Abc7 news was on mandarin avenue near sumatra street, where police shot and injured a man after they say he pointed a gun at an officer. The suspect was hit several times but survived. Police say around 11 30 last night, that suspect had shot a 17yearold girl and another man in front of a home. The suspect and the man hes accused of shooting are still in the hospital. A teenager is out of the hospital. Now to President Trumps first 100 days. Its a case of president versus president with mr. Trump leveling claims the Obama Administration ordered secret surveillance of trump tower during the campaign. Now the claim is opening questions about where President Trump got his information.
