good morning, bay area. >> let's get up and get going. this is abc 7 mornings. heavy rain and strong winds pound the bay area. this is what it looked like earlier this morning in pleasant hill and here on the bay bridge. will your sunday be a washout? good morning, everyone. i i'm care lynne tyler. let's start with a quick look at the weather with lisa. >> good morning to you. we have just about everything out there, heavy downpours, sunny breaks, rain and hail with a little bit of snow mix. here's live doppler 7 taking you into mount hamilton where we have the snow and hail. you can see heavier rain to the north, south of livermore, looking at that downpour moving to the east. to the north, a winter storm warning for lake county through tomorrow. look at all this mixed presip. on the peninsula there's a heavier cell offshore. you can see highway 1, this continues to rotate to the west from the west to the east and we will look atmore showers throughout the day today. it's a one on the storm impact scale with heavy downpours, mixed presip and minor street flooding. a live look from santa cruz where temperatures are in the low 40s to 50s. we'll talk totals and particulars when we see you in a few minutes. >> in the east bay, some people are waking toup a hailstorm. this is what it looked like around 7:30 this morning in oakland. when you get unusual weather where you live, take a photo or video and share it on social media using hash tag abc 7. s water officials are keeping an eye on the reservoir and coyote creek. it could force water over the spillway. coyote creek recently flooded in san jose leading to thousands being evacuated from their homes. it caused tens of millions of dollars in damage. water district officials say they are not expecting any problems, but crews are on stand by just in case any issues arise. the supplies are expected to last two weeks. >> this is a dire situation. i worry people don't understand how severe this really is. part of the highway is expected to open in a week. they plan to demolish and rebuild the pfeiffer canyon bridge. here is video hoeing the oraville dam after the spillway collapsed. you can see the damage caused by erosion. water officials have semp rarely shut down a power plant at the dam to make improvements that will allow for increased water releases. the hyatt power plant stopped working after debris formed at the bottom of the dam's main spillway. that shut down is expected to last until tomorrow. developing news out of the east bay. hayward police are investigating an overnight shooting. it happened around midnight on mandarin avenue near sumatra street. no new information has been released, not at this time, anyway. we are waiting to hear back from police for more details. this morning, the white house is requesting a congressional investigation into president trump's explosive allegations against former president obama. president trump claims his predecessor wiretapped him during his run for the white house. abc news reporter, brian ross has the story. >> reporter: the gloves are off this morning following president trump's accusation about president obama's alleged actions and his integrity. only one of the two men will be proven right. at president, president trump used twitter to take on meryl streep. arnold schwarzenegger, the knews media, abc news and "saturday night live." >> yes, this is real life and happening. >> reporter: the early morning accusations that his phones were wiretapped by the obama administration were by far of much greater consequence. terrible, he wrote. just found out that obama had my wires tapped in trump tower before the victory. nothing found. that was followed by four more presidential outbursts taking on president obama and misspelling tap. how low has president obama gone to tap my phones during the sacred election process. this is nixon watergate. bad or sick guy. for anyone but the president, it would be a crime to reveal such a secret wiretap on trump tower. no u.s. official contacted by abc news would confirm the allegation. >> it's a serious offense. anyone who revealed the existence of a wiretap would violate federal law. >> reporter: because there's no proof, it's not sure whether it's from an article from breitbart. >> how many of trump's people were ease dropped on and had conversations intercepted, recorded, transcribed? this, ladies and gentlemen, is the big scandal. >> a spokesman for president obama called the allegations false. a national security aide responded to trump. no president can order a wiretap. those restrictions were put in place to protect citizens from people like you. bri on ross x abc news, new york. this morning, house democratic leader, nancy pelosi is responding to the wiretapping allegations appearing on cnn's "state of the union," she called president trump the deflector in chief, saying he's trying to distract americans from the real issues our country faces. she calls the accusations against former president obama, a smear. >> i can tell you, it's just ridiculous for the president, president trump to say that president obama would ever order any wiretap of an american citizen. any president. not just -- we don't do that. >> the california congresswoman says president trump's actions are a tool of an athortarian to get people talking about what he wants. ten people arrested and more than a dozen weapons confiscated after protests became violent in berkeley. groups clashed at civic center part. lisa has the details. >> somebody smashed her in the back of the head. >> reporter: she had to be rescued by police and pulled from an angry crowd after somebody swiped her "make america great again" hat. >> the woman's boyfriend smacked her in the back of the head and knocked her down and people started kicking her. >> reporter: the 57-year-old and her friends left with a police escort. >> every time we are trying to be peaceful here but why do they attack people? >> reporter: this was not a space for the meeting of the minds or a peaceful political discussion. physical and verbal bombs were dropped. people were hurt, badly in some cases. anger from those for and against president trump filled civic center part. >> you hate diversity. that's why you voted for trump. that's why you voted for trump. >> are you a mind reader? >> reporter: too many times people resorted to using mace or pepper spray. this trump protester rushed to the pepper spray relief station for help. >> one of the people on the trump side, i believe, shot bear mace at us in our eyes. >> reporter: hours after the clashes began, police started making arrests. some complained berkeley police took a passive approach to the protest, a spokesperson insists, making ten arrests is proof of the contrary. this is sky 7 video of police chasing and arresting a protester. charges range from battery to assault with a deadly woman. in berkeley, abc 7 news. hail, snow, wind, rain. >> that's right. some of us had to be up in it. right now, it looks nice out there from the tower camera. if you have been up for a bit, you know better. welcome back, everyone. it is 9:13. thanks for joining us for this first sunday in march. this is a live look from the east bay hills camera. there was some hail in oakland this morning. what about where you live? lisa will be along shortly with the full accuweather forecast. service on bart back to normal after scary moments for riders in the east bay. a big electrical fire broke out at the walnut creek bart station after 6:00 last night. abc 7 news viewer shared this video with us of the flames at the station as she was driving by. many of the estimated 250 people on board had no idea there was a fire. abc 7 news reporter, melanie woodrow has the story. >> reporter: relief and thumbs up. this video taken as passengers got off a bart train stuck more than an hour. >> we were exiting the walnut creek station. the train lurched a bit. >> reporter: a fire under the tracks. you can see it from sky 7. >> it could have been a lot worse. >> reporter: a lot worse because the train could have been on the platform just above the fire. >> when we got on scene, there were quite a few explosions and pops going on. that smoke is nasty. it's burning plastic, basically. >> reporter: passengers waited in the dark. >> they thought they were going to have to get off the train, on the platform. >> reporter: instead, electricians restored the power. a temporary cut enough to extinguish the flames. >> we didn't fleed to use water. >> the bart conductive did a great job. >> reporter: the information about the fire came from abc 7. >> we were not aware of the fire underneath the tracks until we saw it on facebook live. >> i don't smell any smoke. >> reporter: no injuries or incidents among riders. there was concern some headed to fso could miss their flight. take a look at this. video posted on facebook shows mayhem at a chuck e. cheese in southern california. not the kids, adults, at this victorville location were pushing and shoving each other. it started when one woman bumped into the other in the video game area. both women suffered cuts and scratched on their hands. one went to the hospital. sheriff's deputies did not arrest anyone. neither woman wanted to press charges. more than a dozen parents are camping out in front of a school. they are trying to get nar kids into kindergarten. this is in the city of lincoln, about 30 miles northeast of sacramento. officials say the city is growing faster than the district can build schools. there are only 110 open kindergarten spots available next year. registration starts at 7:00 tomorrow morning. in walnut creek, a man says the canada geese that roam the park are dangerous. he says he was stalked and attacked last week. abc 7 reporter tells us what the city is telling us about the problem. >> reporter: in walnut creek's farm hill park, mother geese you will never read about in a nurse ree rhyme. >> they look benign, but they are not. they are vicious. >> when we met a.j., he walked with a pronounced limp from when he fell during an altercation at the park. you say you were attacked by three geese, all at once? >> yes. >> coordinated? >> yes. >> there are many and they are territoryial, it appears. have there been formal complaints? >> not filed. >> reporter: she said because canada geese enjoy endangered species status, they can only take limited measures in encouraging them to leave. >> the geese are in the molting period, when they are getting ready breed. >> reporter: he is not their type. he won't go near one now. could you give me a description of the geese? >> yeah, they look like any geese you would see about yeah height, long neck, full body, kind of grayish, brownish, whitish, you know. >> reporter: face-to-face in a suburban park. clearly, the rules change during mating season. >> this is a serious matter. the animals are dangerous, a threat to children and parents should be concerned. >> reporter: abc 7 news. hundreds of people came together last night to help firefighters put out cancer. abc 7 news was in san francisco for the art of fire. a sold out art auction and gala a benefit for the cancer prevention foundation. three people were honored for their contribution to end cancer in the fire fighting community. award winning actor b.d. wong came out to support his brother, a san francisco firefighter who is helping to lead the effort. >> in recent years, we discover more and more risks related to chemicals and very specific things that cause cancer and terrible illnesses. >> the foundation starpted in 2006. abc 7 was a sponsor of last night's event. the goldengate ferry is expanded service for the first time in 40 years starting tomorrow. commuters can take the ferry to and from tiburon. ridership has been growing. the service will help reduce traffic congestion on the golden gate bridge. one-way tickets for adults cost 11.50. a cliber card costs $7. the first leaves at 5:30 tomorrow morning. we have more rain in the forecast for your sunday and into monday. here is live doppler 7 where you are looking at a mix of some hail, rain, snow and temperatures below freezing. you can see heavier cells here. this is a quick mover these systems, but where they do settle down, they drop from a tenth to two tenths. look at 880 around san jose. light to moderate rain and on the peninsula from san carlos to redwood city, 280 and 82 are wet and a downpour around highway 1, half-moon bay. as we widen the perspective to the north, there's less going on there. further north, this is where they have the winter storm warning for lake county, hillsburg, cob mountain through tomorrow. looking at snow levels down to 2000 feet and more activity offshore here. this continues to rotate and a flash flood watch until 4:00 where we are looking at not only the stress on the levees here but this will continue right on through the next several days as we get more rain. a flood warning in effect for, once again, clearly with temperatures here very chilly in the mix with snow. in the sierra nevada, yes, more heavy snow and temperatures right around 20 degrees. so, numbers are chilly. the amount still coming down anywhere from a foot at lake level and looking at i-80 with blizzard-like conditions. as we add up the next couple days, you notice we are looking at two feet in tahoe. city with about over two and a half feet with kirkwood. here are the rainfall amounts, 1 1/3 to half inch from oakland to concord. a third inch down to san jose. 47 in gilroy, 48 in half-moon bay. sunshine here, gusty northwest winds for you, allowing for a definite chill in the air. 50 in navato and the winds anywhere from calm to 30 miles an hour oakland and san francisco. we talked delays at sfo, scattered showers, downpours, flooding taking you through the next several hours. the rain is going to be with us the next 24 hours. 4:00 in the afternoon, looking at san francisco to the east bay and it keeps oncoming at 2,000 feet, we see the rain/snow mix and hail. it is going to add up. when you get a heavy downpour, looking at this scenario through the overnight hours into tomorrow as well. is it going to shut out? yes, it will. meantime, a tenth to a third inch in the totals here for the potential into the next 24-36 hours. the accuweather seven day forecast, a winter storm with cold numbers. winter holding on and spring-like conditions for the middle of the week, highs in the 60s, near 70, plenty of sun. more rain as early as friday night in the north bay. download the app, we have been getting pictures of the and the prettier colors, the rain/snow mix with embedded hail. closer to the peninsula right now, check it out, around 280, sane are looking at light to moderate rain. over into the hills here, plenty of rain and snow with temperatures below freezing. speaking of that a winter storm warning in higher elevations from cob keocounty to sonoma county. offshore, there is still unstable air that is going to rotate through today. that's why we are in and out of the showers, a chance of a thunderstorm. some of these, as they move in will be embedded downpours. a look at drying conditions with temperatures on the chilly side. breezy winds, 40s and 50s right now. looks like the showers will last until your monday. we are talking about a couple dry days before we do it all again, just in time separate families illegally crossing the border. jim has the story. >> reporter: the department of homeland security is actively considering a proposal aimed at discouraging families for illegally crossing the border, separating mothers from children when caught. this sz i.c.e. causes controversy. the cries of a 13-year-old girl recording her undocumented father vanished under the hands of agents. she's between two i.c.e. officers. he was pulled over driving his kids to school. it's a signal that families in the u.s. without legal documents are now at risk. >> it's terrible to feel your family being broken apart. >> reporter: the 48-year-old came here 28 years ago illegally, working and raising his family. i.c.e. says he was picked up because of a 10-year-old dui. he says he knows nothing about those. >> we are getting the bad ones o out. these are bad dudes. >> reporter: this one brought to mississippi illegally by her parents as a child has a clean record but still arrested immediately after protesting trump's deportation plan. she was three months late reupping her papers and is asking for a judge to hear her case. this is just a proposal. already, immigration attorneys are saying this is harsh and un-american. jim avila abc news, los angeles. there are thousands of undocumented immigrants here in the bay area. now, local churches are joining a nationwide movement to provide sanctuary to those who may be turned over to the feds. >> this is deeply connected to our faith commitments. >> reporter: he says his church, montclair presbyterian -- refugees in the '80s and will now help undocumented immigrants threatened with deportation. >> that could be hiding them physically or providing them legal assistance or financial assistance. >> reporter: since president trump's election and worries about immigration raids, some sanctuaries are literally becoming sanctuaries. berkeley created a small apartment. in los angeles, a church is building a safe house, part of an underground network. under an obama administration policy, federal agents did not enter houses of worship without approval. fear of what may come under problem has some turning like the interfaith movement for human integrity, which is training churches to respond quickly. >> it is important that congregations collaborate, become one movement to help each other. >> there are critics, but they are not worried about legal implications. >> we need to help people. we need to help people, even if it means breaking unjust laws. >> the national sanctuary movement says there are 800 churches involved all over the nation. president trump could sign a new executive order on travel as early as tomorrow. the original order banned citizens of seven muslim countries from entering the u.s. a federal appeals court in san francisco put that order on hold. the new travel band will not effect green card holders. sources say iraq will be removed from that list of seven countries. some big changes coming when you go through security at the airport. starting this week, those pat downs are expected to be more, shall we say rigorous. transportation authorities are warning travelers for more invasive touching from tsa officers. here is gloria. >> a plan to combat security failures, targeting many travelers least favorite part of flying. they made risk base assessments. now, a single standardized method will be used nuniversall. sensitive areas such as the breast, groin and buttocks. they can opt for a patdown instead of the screening machine or subject to one if tsa detects a red flag. >> if you are a regular traveler, you know you are not carrying anything. they don't know that. >> a damaging report that showed security lapses across the country. weapons and others pass green in 90% of tests conducted. >> the tsa is claiming it will not increase the time it takes for passengers to make it through security. a florida man faces a life sentence for trying to kill his former boss. >> men who want to settle the dispute. >> the man was angry about being fired. he demanded to be paid before being let go. surveillance video from the warehouse shows the man lunging at his old boss with a knife and chasing him through parking lot. the suspect tried to run him over with his pick-up truck. amazingly, he survived. >> he's fine. he didn't call the police. when it was said and done, the bad guy fled, the victim drove him to the hospital, back to the car after they treated him and went home. he's recovering, but he's fine. he got lucky. he could have died three times that day. >> the suspect admits stabbing and trying to run over his former boss. he's being held without bail. still ahead on abc 7 mornings, empty store fronts, increasing rents, decreasing foot traffic. a look at the changing face of one san francisco street. here is a live look from our santa cruz camera. if you are going to the beach, bundle up. it's 48 degrees right now. the high only making it into the low 50s. lisa argen will have your forecast in just a few. we have an update on our developing news in hayward. police shot and injured a suspect they say shot a 17-year-old girl and another man. it happened around 11:30 last night on mandarin avenue. police say the man pulled out a gun and pointed it at an officer. they say that's when officers fired, hitting the suspect several times. the suspect and two victims were taken to the hospital. the teenager has been released. the two men are in stable condition. no officers were hurt. happening today in contra costa county, a ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate the path of transit. the city of hercules is opening a transportation center at bayfront boulevard. it includes a fairy service, bus terminal. the service starts at 11:30 this morning. hope it's not going to be a washout. >> wait a bit and the sun will be out. it's one of those days we have downpours, even hail out there, snowy peaks and sunshine. emeryville, it is 51 degrees and temperatures are in the low 40s in livermore. we are still dealing with showers. we are going to be in and out of activity today. i'll time it out. plan on rain, showers, rainbows and an gardner will start at scottsdale stadium. yesterday, an injury for one of the giants coaches. here is abc 7 sports director, larry beil with the details in this mornings sports. >> good morning, everybody. a scare at spring training for the giants. first base coach ended up being rushed to the hospital for surgery after being hit in the face in surprise, arizona. the giants were playing the royals at the time. he suffered a broken nose, small fractures in his eye socket. we have video of him from earlier in the spring. this is his first year at the first base coach with the giants but he's been in the organization more than a decade. hope he gets well fast. the wor yors were in new york trying to figure out life without kd. they lost their first game without kevin durant in chicago. they will play the knicks in mad son square garden. at practice, the warriors were busy getting matt barnes up to speed with the offense. they probably ran through a bunch of sets from last year. the best shooting back board in history. they go a combined 11-64 on threes, it's hard to win. >> without kevin, i think steph and clay know they are going to get even more shots. so, the biggest thing is we have to get great shots. i think we have been settling for a lot of shots on this trip and we need to move the ball better and develop a good offensive rhythm. >> the nfl combine downpours moving across the bay area. you can stee yellows here on the peninsula and hail embedded. east palo el toe, the peninsula, you have seen good downpours and the higher elevations looking at hail. page mill road. heading up to the north, san pablo bay out of san francisco and we are looking at all of this offshore that continues to rotate from west to east so there will be more. you'll have to dodge the showers throughout the day today. in ver ness and up to the north, it's been all snow at 2,000 feet. we continue to see a lot of stress here on the levee. that's why we have a flash flood watch until 4:00 on monday for the delta, the car keena straight. we have the flood warning and the snow there and more activity in the mountains. we have had ten inches around squaw. about two feet around donner pass and it's still coming down. looking at the snow, anywhere from one to two feet at lake level. a winter storm warning through yosemite through 10:00 tomorrow night. through about 4:00 p.m. tomorrow, we are looking at additional 1-2 feet there. rainfall amounts, san francisco has been the big winner, an inch and a third. napa, these totals are impressive, more than the models predicted. that's when it happens in a cold atmosphere, unstable environment. you can see the cumulus clouds here, the shaking of the camera with northwest winds. 50 in gilroy and sunshine here. with the cloud cover and that unstable air, we will look for more showers throughout the day. that will add up. in fact, with the gusty winds, temperatures well below average today with winds up to 32 miles an hour. we'll be lucky if we make it into the low 50s. a warm winter impact. we have the sun, scattered showers, possible thunderstorms. with the downpours, hail. going through the rest of your sunday, 10:00, we have a line of showers. we have some mixed presip up toward wine country. as we head toward 4:00, still a line of showers, some clearing and the overnight hours, we are going to do it all over again, kind of like a carbon copy, a deja vu as you get up for monday morning commute. scattered showers, downpours and adding up today and tomorrow, a tenth to perhaps a third inch was my sunday, people runninger rands, going to the grocery store. >> she owns my roommate's closet. >> sales are down 18%. >> reporter: decreasing foot taffic and increasing rents are taking down
