apple to helps agents break into syed farook's i-phone. phone.the ruling is the first of its kind.cook says such a move would undermine encryption by creating a back-door that could be potentially used on other devices.the f-b-i has tried to unlock farook's phone for two months now.farook and his wife shot and killed 14 people last december -- they were later killed in a shootout with police. the eagles of death metal made a return visit to paris, to finish a concert that was interupted by the paris terror november.the band's performace at the bataclan concert hall ended when islamic extremists stormed into the venue, and killed several concert goers. in all, 130 people were killed in multiple locations throughout the french capital. last night, armed police guadred the entrances, and people had to go through three bag and body searches to get in. new this morning out of the korean peninsula. peninsula.the united states is flying four stealth fighter jets over south korea near seoul. seoul.the planes are capable of sneaking past radar undetected.the north will likely view this as a threat. tensions have been rising in the region, just last month north korea conducted its fourth nuclear test. at the university of iowa -- charges could soon come down for a man manauthorities say tried to film a female student in a dorm shower.the incident triggered a campus-wide crime alert. alert.the suspect was later found in a stall in separate women's restroom monday night. he got away but officials say he was located last night.this morning -- charges are pending. burge hall.right now -- school leaders are changing mechanical locks on shower doors to protect students. six people are now charged in the death of a vinton teen. teen.emma redlinger was shot in the head with a rifle last february.she died four days later. later.now, a 17-year-old faces a number of charges, including involuntary manslaughter.other teens are charged with drug possession and interference with officials acts.cbs 2 news is choosing not to name the teens because they are all being charged as juveniles. 52-year-old robyn merchant faces a *federal* charge of providing a firearm to a prohibited person.two other adults are also facing drug charges. new developments in a deadly fire in cedar rapids. rapids.investigators now believe smoking materials started the fire.crews were called to the home on 16th avenue southwest monday morning.76-year-old ronald jacobs died in the fire.karen jacobs, also 76-years old, was saved and taken to u-i-h-c. right now she's listed in critical condition. in the living room when the fire started.the home did *not* have any working smoke alarms. funeral services for the late supreme court justice antonin scalia will be this weekend. weekend.on tuesday -- his empty chair in the high court was draped with a black wool cloth and a black drape was hung over the courtroom doors. this is a tradition that dates back to the late during 2 meetings held last night. it will give planners a chance to present information about the current transportation system, and get public input on potential improvements.right now some city bus routes are so crowded, riders are being turned away.the m-p-o is looking for different ways to "whatever the study may say we're going to come back to the citizens the people effected by it and get their input and try to balance the efficiency of the system against the needs." needs."in the spring they will hold public meetings.if you want to learn more about the transit study or give your input johnson county. county.a semi hauling a tanker full of de-icing fluid rolled over near swisher monday.no one was hurt but now the iowa d-n-r says about 36-hundred gallons of the fluid and about 50 gallons of diesel fuel spilled into a nearby creek. that creek flows into the coralville reservoir -- right now the d-n-r is working to clean up the spill.they say the de-icing fluid could is not a long-term environmental hazard. and it's already been a dangerous start to 20-16 for iowa drivers.so far -- state troopers have responded to 792 accidents throughout the state. state.the department of transportation says there have been 35-deaths on iowa's roads in just a month in a half. half.that is more than 40- percent higher than this time last year. state lawmakers are now working on a number of bills to improve safety on iowa's roads. roads.one of those bills would make texting and driving a primary offense.right now, it's a secondary offense, meaning officers have to stop drivers for another crime, to ticket someone for texting behind the wheel.another piece of legislation requires convicted drunk drivers to take daily breath tests after they are released from jail. interlock devices and alcohol monitoring bracelets would help enforce that law. also the capitol -- we're still tracking the plans to overhaul the state's biggest health system.the head of iowa's medicaid program says it is ready for privatization that's scheduled for a little less than two weeks now. stier turned over documents to lawmakers confirming the news. governor branstad ordered the move last year -- saying it would save the state millions of dollars and offer more services to patients.the orinignal launch date was pushed back from the first of the year -- after federal officials said the state wasn't ready for the launch. asbestos concerns have surfaced at another cedar rapids high school. school.a subcontracted worker says he was exposed to asbestos in the summer of 2013 at jefferson high.he claims the only precaution taken to protect him from asbestos exposure was yellow caution tape...while washington high is still in hot water over an anonymous complaint filed last summer, he says other schools should be investigated too. brent 01:03:16 "they that."john 07:19:23 "as we move forward, we as a district certainly have learned from didn't have problems with these same companies in the past, but we certainly will look at clarification going forward." the school district said they weren't aware of any safety issues at jefferson, but they continue to put the safety of students lead over the remaining field of candidates with 38 percent support.texas senator ted cruz is in second place -- after splitting the first two races with trump.trump won new hampshire -- and cruz won in iowa. republicans are continuing their attempts to win over south carolina voters ahead of saturday's primary. primary.tonight -- ted cruz -- marco rubio -- and ben carson will meet in greenville for a town hall hosted by c-n-n.the three remianing g-o-p candidates -- donald trump -- john kasich -- and jeb bush will have their town hall tomorrow night in columbia. that will also be hosted by c- in the democratic race -- hillary clinton leads bernie sanders in south carolina by nearly 20-points.democrats in that state have their primary next saturday.nevada democrats will next select their parties nominee this saturday. a new poll in nevada shows a dead heat between the two candidates.48-perent of likely caucus goers support hillary clinton, while 47-support bernie sanders. in johnson county -- more people are registering to vote. vote.since january 29th -- the friday before caucus day -- more than 33-hundred residents have registered.the johnson county auditor tells cbs 2 news the active voter registration is just shy of 89- thousand people.with nine months until november -- that's roughly two-thousand short of the total for election day 20-12. the iowa men's basketball team is looking to take another step towards the top spot in the big ten tournament. tournament.the fourth-ranked hawkeyes travel to penn state tonight where they'll take on the nittany lions.these two teams
