We begin with a live look at florida. This is Daytona Beach people in florida have been ordered to leave their homes. The state prepares to get a direct hit from Hurrican Matthew. We will have more on this massive storm in a moment. Meteorologist Rebecca Kopelman is tracking some storms in eastern iowa and to our east in davenport they are getting a tornado warning. They do. Th strong storms that have moved through and there is spent out that theyve had reports of tornadoes near the quad cities. For us we do not have warnings in place for our counties. We do have showers and thunderstorms moving through the area. This is associated with a cold front that is stretched out across the state. We are not there with the showers and storms but most of the strong stuff is moving further away to our east. Where it is now is to the east davenport. More activity in our area and parts of iowa in Johnson County is not as strong. Further to the north other activity. Most of it is scattered. It will remain that way and as we head through midnight will see all this activity shifts to the east of the mississippi. We will dry out and by morning we will have drier air in place for friday. President obama has signed an Emergency Declaration for florida as Hurrican Matthew barrels towards the coast. The category four storm is being blamed for killing more than 200 people in cuba and haiti. Heavy flooding is cutting off communication from anywhere. The u. S. Military is flying aid from honduras to affected areas of haiti. Lets go to rebecca with more of track hurricane matthew. The storm has not made landmark landfall in florida. But it is very close. It is strong as it moves the east coast and is expected to hug floridas coast make landfall but right now it will remain offshore through much of the night. You can see its not far from fort pierce. It is moving to the north and west and will continue to get closer to the state so the worst of it has not made its way on shore to the state of florida. It is a category four storm and the track remains the same. It has shifted more to the east
