from the same facility or from sheriffs station. is that why you got a gun? yup. mark otto lives near the newton correctional facility... 03:12:45 'our home is located next to the railroad track and weve always been on the alert system to be aware of any inmates that escaped.' he too has a story to tell when it comes to inmates that've escaped... 03:12:54 some 25 years ago i recall seeing a couple of gentlemen walking down the tracks with blue jeans and white t shirts and later learned that they were escapees and so walking past our home, the railroad tracks of whats going on.' 03:13:09 iowa council 61 president - danny homan - of the american federation of state, county and municipal employees blames the escape on what he calls critically low staffing levels in iowa's correctional system and the department of corrections classification system...which he says is now designed to try and move people out as fast as they can.... by the way, anyone with information as to the whereabouts of amodeo or foley should immediately call 911. the des moines driver charged in the deadly crash of a 22 year old woman is on trial this week. troy mure junior is facing one count of vehicular homicide for the death of scalicity perez boyd. the mother of four died last november when the car she was riding in crashed on 35th street. an accident investigator determined that mure was traveling about 86 miles an hour when he that the couple was being chased by another vehicle at the time. mure told police he saw a handgun inside that other car and it rammed him.. causing him to lose this case... the bench trial is expected to last about three days. the animal defense league is ranks iowa 49th out of 50 states in it's animal protection laws... a bill is working it's way now through the iowa legislature to change that.... ben oldach reports.... iowa's bottom of the barrel rating in animal abuse laws doesn't sit well with senator tony bisignano "we're not going up we're going down...and that's pretty pathetic for a state like iowa." senator bisignano championed senate bill 2289 which would allow crimes involving abusing pets to be elevated to a class d or c felony...but the new law wouldn't stop there.
