Thanks for being with us. The u. S. Is putting pressure on iran right now as it is trying to reach a nuclear deal. Ron carey making some strong statements. Is this all about giving support to the saudis or is it about fears that iran is becoming a major power . Iran has been present in the region and the houthi are an ally. I do not think they are masters of the game in yemen. They are a Regional Power. They have entered the zone and of course of the americans are trying to comfort the saudis and they are worried about the saudi engagement in yemen. The conflict in yemen is described in sectarian terms. Doesnt boil boiled down to the sunnishiite divide and iran bowing out for influence, or is there more to it . There is more to it, but this could become a selffulfilling prophecy. The sectarian aspect has never been important in yemen. It has become recently since the saudis seem to want to look at this through a sectarian prism. The official rhetoric is like sunnikshshia. The saudis are afraid that the yemen case could serve as an example. A shiite power armor just supported by iran. This is their biggest nightmare. They might be trying to create a buffer zone. What iran is saying is that in fact saudi arabia is conducting a genocide and it will answer for war crimes. The term genocide is inappropriate. We can see if we look at the persian newspapers, they are full of yemen. Yemen is the number one issue and there is concern in iran that this happened at a moment when a nuclear deal was prepared, prepared to be signed. The rainy and the iranians are in a difficult situation to somehow try to engage in the nuclear deal and at the same time the solve the conflict in yemen and i think saudi arabia is trying to interfere. Yemen is of course located along a key shipping route. Crucial for saudi arabia and iran. Could we see a fullblown confrontation between these Regional Powers to secure the shipping route . I dont think we will have war or confrontation. Everybody iran is just about to build a naval base on the other side of the red sea. Djibouti too harbors american and french and even japanese troops. It is a very Crucial Point in the think international intention will increase. I do not think we will see a Major International confrontation. Daniel, thanks for being with us.
