Glenn. Glenn Winning 2 k c s b m 91.9 in Santa Barbara and just started her in Alice Pung game with her Baca track you just heard those property is theft by t.s.a. Well off of there alive 991 album for this week's play list I decided to do like a. Like an ode punk playlist so all these tracks were released before I was born I was born October in 1905 so I think I have a song from September 1 10095 I think that's like the most the youngest song I have on here but other than that yeah that's also a good mix of like some oh gee punk bands too oh so I'll definitely one of the like main groups that people remember from that era and they're still like coming out music to this day so it's pretty cool if you like any of the tracks I'm playing you can check out my live playlist on Casey of speed on or I'll be updating it with every song that I play. The music this next song is by game 4 it's called he'd send in the Army and it's off of their yellow e.p. Those released in 1979 I said this is he sent in the army by going for here in case e.s.p. . So To get. Us. Going. Separate. Bills and they do it with their back thank you on P.C.'s be 21.9 in Santa Barbara that track you just heard was me and my desire by 999 off of their very 1st self-titled album which came out in 1978 the last time 99 re released a brand new. No a full length album was in 2009 but in 2018 they released a live album from when they were touring so it's really cool to see these older bands still get together and play music together a love that right before that I played a wire song called Practice makes perfect and that was off of their chairs missing album which also came out mighty The me it was kind of interesting to see 2 different sides of punk music kind of was released the same year very wires very much more grand while 999 I feel like was an earlier. Was like one of the earlier stages of skull punk is just how I view it just me if you know how soon again you'll sitting like I said this week so I'm this week's album I'm sorry this. This week's playlist is music that was released before I was born I was released I think. Oh my gosh I can't talk I'm so sorry I was born October 1905 so I made my playlist all tracks ever released before I was born I think that the most recent track I have on my playlist was released September 1905 I want to say but it's a solid mix of punk music it's very feel like a collective as you can see from the last track in the track before it the next one minute play for you is a song called mad a Lucas by a band called the breeders off of their 993 album Last Splash Last Splash. Became really popular because. Of the breeder's song cannonball one is release like hit the top charts is number one of the top charts for a long time so last flash got a lot of popularity back then however to this day as a lot of people don't know the rest of the album they mean we just know cannonball but that song's also popular here for Casey a species so I stuck with one of my favorite tracks from the album Like I said it's called Matt Lucas and Elise Sarah she actually wrote it about a homeless man that she interacted with often that live outside of her apartment so it's kind of interesting to know a little bit of the backstory and then when you're listening to the song just kind of interpret how she few him maybe I don't now don't get too deep into it I don't know too much but that's just all I know about it I guess that it's next song is called Mad Lucas by the breeders here on the c.s.b. . The. Data. They are not going to be a. Grave thank. You . Thank you. Thank. You. New. Way to the way I am. I am. A. A a mean a. Thank Was sitting in the background there was life on the line by the ring codes off of their self-titled album which came out in 1079 the rain coats kind of heaved the way for a female punk musician step. Finally when they 1st got together a lot of them didn't really have too much musical experience they just wanted to play music which in essence is what punk is you know nobody really cares about your musical background about the passion that you put behind music and the ladies of The Raincoats you know they just wanted to play music and they caught the eye of so many bands like The Clash Sex Pistols Kurt Cobain Sonic Youth Kurt Cobain and Sonic Youth actually helped. Helped write and produce for their last 3 albums of the raincoats were gone and so that's kind of cool to see like how the band that started with 0010 both the little musical experience just put their full hearts and passion into it and you know other musicians saw that and they wanted to get involved they did really cool but I want to definitely play something off of their 1st album just to understand like where they began is very very raw a lot of I like how they have the violin a lot of people when you're like look at reviews of the raincoats they talk about their use of the violin and how like that was so bizarre back then but actually. You sitting punk it with Rebecca here on K.C.'s b.f.m. 91.9 in Santa Barbara if you're listening on the dial 91.9 just so you know you can tune in any time Casey is speed org You can literally listen to K.C.'s be wherever you are in the world and I'm actually updating my live playlist on the website as well so there are songs that interest you you can check that out the next track I'm going to pull a is actually 2 tracks blended together kind of. It's 2 songs local makes up and murder charge by a band called Guided by Voices and Guided by Voices in 1980 released a concept album called same place the fire got smashed and the lead singer songwriter of Guided by Voices Robert Polaroid he described this album as a concept album with you in your story and it's about how and all Kahala who commits murder is eventually executed for his crime but it's very much. Definitely one of the darker albums very hits heavy into the. Just psychologically everything that the alcoholic was going through as far as like self-hatred and Gil in pity and just almost I don't know it's cool I was once I felt a little bit before I played the song just because it's good to know before hearing it but you know I'm playing all music that was released before 1905 I love doing this playlist I love the research that I get to do with it and kind of see all these different artists that help helped inspire the bigger punk groups that we know to this day like I said like the Sex Pistols a clash and Kurt Cobain who was such a big fan of. The Raincoats like he was such a diehard fan for them is really it's really cool to see but you know we don't know too much about the big artists and who they really research before they became the big artist that we know them as so that's why I like doing this playlist. I'll go ahead of his song for you see awful for them you talk anyway if local makes out slash murder charge by Guided by Voices off of their 1990 concept album same place flag got smashed here in case you speak. back and off guard is really that was like top notch of what was going on you know Sonic Youth and all that so. Of course it's not an ordinary but parable they formed $75.00 the same year that the track him out and they have members originally from the band rocket from the tombs rocket from the tombs. Lived a very short life but I love their music and I actually listen to their music 1st before I was listening. I wanted to put them on this playlist but I also wanted to clue who just because Perry who has so much more discography it more music at least in the heart of darkness is an incredible track it's really wanted to put that on here. And it's a really good like representation of the guard era of what was going on in the mid seventy's so those that want to throw in there if you're just tuning in you're listening to punk it with Rebecca this week I'm doing a punk shocks are released before I was born in October 1005 so all these were released before thought and yeah I love this playlist it's really fun to make and I love that I get to share it with you you can check out my life playlist on. O.-r. G. Every check that I play is on there so you can learn more about the artists if you have any request you can call them in 280-581-3242 extension 4 that is our request line of the phone right here on my right side play one of your quest to have it doesn't have to be punk music for me whatever you want just nothing to mainstream memory here i k c s b we like to play. The lesser known artists we like to represent the under represented being said the next track I'm in a play. Is a song called harmony in your bathroom by so well maps off of their album a trip to Bahrain wiil which is released in 1979 this whole album is a like it's a trip solicit 2 so I definitely recommend checking it out if you like the style of this song just give it a listen I guess that is harmony in your bathroom I saw him up here on K.C.'s. Well I was quick to say that we are entering it's a safe harbor 10 pm to 6 am but I do play punk music and the next hour of my music isn't edited or anything so might contain objectionable content so if that's something you're not comfortable with then you should tune out for an hour or so. That being said this is punk music this is punk it was a back up here on case e.s.p.n. 91.9 in Santa Barbara I'm here every Tuesday from 9 pm to 11 pm and this week's playlist I am doing punk tracks that were released before I was born I was born October in 1905 so I think. It was a solid mix of different tracks from before that the last song I just played was we must lead by the germs or germs off of their album g.i. Those released 979 and before that I was living in darkness by Agent Orange off of their living in darkness album 1981 that's.
