trash. four years later rebuilt but not willing to take chances. leaving before high tide. take a look. you can see the dune taking a beating from the crashing waves this weekend. the beach here is additional moisture and creating windy conditions on the coast. on the other side a high pressure system. the combination increased the winds between 30 and 50 miles per hour winds occasionally happening here. we're going to have a significant impact that starting beach erosion as well as dangerous surf from virginia beach up toward long beach. not only that, we'll have impacts going into tuesday as well. that's going to include strong winds, beach erosion as well as rough surf. as you take a look at what's happening we have the system off the coast creating the wind and rain and the trekking is expected to veer toward t northeast. hurricane hermine is leaving behind reminders of the weekend. it's not beach erosion but road eros erosion. a giant sink hole in wilmington, north carolina. residents say this is the third time the road has been closed because of a sink hole. donald trump is still being asked to clarify his immigration plan after his trip to mexico and his immigration policy speech. on abc "this week" his campaign manager says they'll situation once those who entered the country illegally are deported. she insisted his plan to build a border wall is unwavering. >> she's been consistent that and he'll have moexico pay for it. his position hasn't changed. a new abc news poll shows 80% of voters don't believe trump will get mexico to foot the bill for the wall. about the conversation. conway said they disagree but it's a productive meeting. and the las vegas area, the search for a murder suspect on the run. he was left alone for a few moments at the police station. that's when he somehow managed to get his handcuffs off and escaped. he's considered armed and dangerous. >> protests against the national anthem moved to a new athletic field. megan rapinoe knelt as the anthem was played sunday in chicago. she called it a little nod to collin kaepernick. she said she plans to keep on doing it to spark some meaningful conversation. and hermine, a post tropical cyclone around the coast. >> hermine has sustained winds of 70 miles per hour and is generating heavy surf and dangerous rip currents. beaches are closed on cape cod and people are advised to stay out of the water. >> ocean city's delaware beaches were deserted yesterday with no swimming or surfing permitted. even some 300 miles offshore, the storm was turning up the the surging surf is one of the few signs of hermine prowling the atlantic off the east seaboard with sustained winds of 70 miles per hour. you can feel it in the house. when the waves hit, the pilings shake. >> reporter: rip currents closed some beaches. >> we have many signs up, and people still ask if it's okay to swim. we've had to tell the people and lifeguards have opinion very have been careful with keeping people out of the water. >> reporter: it was a tough sell. >> it's beautiful out right now. >> reporter: but officials warned residents not to be deceived by sunday's sunny weather. >> there is a dangerous storm still lurking just off the coast that is inching closer to us every hour. >> reporter: threatening severe erosion like this. eva pilgrim is in new jersey. >> reporter: this dune already taking a hit from the crashing waves this weekend. the beach here closed. >> reporter: crews are working through the weekend shoring up sand dunes to keep the water at and hermine is making rough passage for royal caribbean's "anthem of the seas." >> dishes going all over the place. >> reporter: hermine is expected to remain powerful off the mid atlantic coast. but the effects are confined to coastal areas. flooding, rough surf, and beach erosion are the biggest concerns from virginia to southern new england. those concerns with continue along the east coast and for 64-foot inconvicta crashed off mexico overnight and was taking on water. while the u.s. coast guard awaited permission to enter mexican territory, the crew of the "sweet marie" swept in and rescued the other boat's passengers. the crew then kept them on board until the coast guard could arrive and bring them to safety. turning overseas now to a legacy of another good samaritan times about a
