separate reports of sexual assault. the first happened last thursday at an off-campus fraternity. two days later, university of iowa police received another report of a sexual assault. this happened in a residence hall on the east side of campus u-i police want to remind victims to contact r- vap, at 319-335-6000. next week, thousands of students at the u-i can get the third dose of the m-m-r vaccine for free. this helps to fight against measles, mumps, and rubella. the university and johnson county public health put out a notice on friday, because more than 100 cases of the mumps have been diagnosed on campus since july. u-i students under the age of 25 can get vaccinated tuesday and wednesday from 10 a-m to 7 p-m at the iowa memorial union. mumps is spread through saliva and not airborne, but the university noted those "living in close quarters" run a higher risk of catching it. a school district in central iowa is installing more cameras in its school buses, after a student accused a driver of assaulting him. the johnston community school district currently has only two buses with cameras, but they're adding more to 8 other buses. cell phone video from last month shows other students yelling at a man who appears to hit a 15-year-old boy at the back of the bus. the district's new cameras will be mounted at the front of the bus with a view of all students in their seats. the bus driver faces charges of assault and child endangerment . waukee police spent hours searching for a suspect connected to the first homicide there in decades. officers responded to a report of a shooting around 1-30 saturday morning. police found 41-year-old gino risola in the street with multiple gunshot wounds. he later died at the hospital. investigators started the search for 42-year-old brendan mcguiness -- eventually finding him near the state fairgrounds around 3-30 in the afternoon. that was about 14 hours after the shooting. the city's last homicide investigation was in 1977. des moines police are investigating the city's 14th homicide of the year. police found 28-year-old jose lopez with a gunshot wound around 10:30 friday night. that night, officers interviewed witnesses and worked on developing a suspect profile. authorities have not made any arrests. people in western wisconsin are returning to their homes after a train derailed along the mississippi river, forcing an evacuation. b-n-s-f railway says 32 cars went off the tracks near the city of alma around 8:45 saturday morning. that's right along the wisconsin side of the mississippi river -- southwest of eau claire. the railway says the derailed cars carried empty auto racks and tanker cars full of ethanol. b- n-s-f says there were no reports of any fire, smoke, or injuries. earlier saturday, the buffalo county sheriff's office set up the local american legion to house evacuees. this past march, 21 b-n- s-f cars carrying crude oil derailed near galena, illinois. they caught fire, shutting down the railroad across the river from dubuque for several days. after the derailment, b-n-s-f announced trains carrying crude oil would have to slow to 35 miles per hour in cities with more than 100-thousand people, and near waterways. a wisconsin woman died in a crash, after investigators the grant county sheriff's department said overnight saturday, 25- year-old kalia fouks drove off highway 35 near lancaster. embankment, turned over. injured a passenger. first responders flew that person to madison with minor injuries. today first responders will large animals in crisis situations. this is part of "basic animal rescue training," or "bart." on saturday morning, first responders learned how to handle smaller animals at the johnson county fairgrounds certified instructors demonstrated how to find an animal's pulse, or how to safely restrain an aggressive animal. organizers say knowing how to properly handle cats and dogs during an emergency response can safe lives, both animal and human. about 630- thousand dollars of federal money to help pay for upgrades to its water and sewer systems. this is a part of three rural iowa projects that the u-s department of agriculture is funding to help rural communities across the country upgrade their infrastructur e for water and wastewater. the iowa lakes regional water and the lone rock y-m-c-a are the other projects. iowa lakes regional will receive a 1 point-3 million loan, and about a 955 thousand dollar grant. le rock is getting a 215- thousand dollar loan, and a 635 thousand grant. the y-m-c-a's camp wapsie is getting 40 thousand he'll try to win the 2016 u-s senate nomination, to face republican chuck grassley next november. former state legislator ray zirkelbach will be the fourth to try and capture the nomination. the gazette's james lynch reports that zirkelbach will announce his plan today at the jones county democratic party dinner in anamosa. zirkelbach represented much of jones county from 2005 to 2011 in the iowa house. senator grassley will be seeking his seventh term in the senate. iowa voters elected him to that seat in 1980, after three terms in the u.s. house. since he defeated incumbent democrat john culver in 19-80, grassley has captured at least 64% of the vote in his five re- elections. suspected theft charges are forcing a former butler county supervisor to appear in court on tuesday. the waterloo cedar falls courier reports 61- year-old mark reiher is accused of misappropriati ng mileage funds. officials charged reiher in october with one and two counts of third-degree theft. tribune journal, those charges are from reimbursements during his time on the board. reiher was first elected in 2011, and he told the courier he was running because quote, "we need to be very careful in how money". police arrested an intoxicated man who they say is responsible for two hit-and-runs in waterloo. police started searching for 47-year-old james brown's car around 12-30 saturday morning. the
