"we're going around just trying to get as many people on as we possibly can, just start eliminating it down to smaller outages, everybody be patient, we are going at it as hard as we can. " hermine was a category one hurricane when it hit, yesterday morning. that makes it the first hurricane to hit the state of florida since wilma, in 2005. a national statistic estimates 22 servicemen and women take their own lives, everyday. way too much, say the parents of an iowa veteran who did the same. brandon ketchum was 33 when he eighth. he was a combat veteran who was struggling with post traumatic stress disorder. ketchum's mother and girlfriend say he asked his doctor at the iowa city v-a to admit him to the hospital's psychiatric ward, but they say the doctor refused. ketchum's suicide came hours later. brandon's parents will join the group '22 no more' for a vigil in iowa city tonight. that vigil runs from 7:00 until 10:00 at the ped mall's water feature, downtown. that's right behind the sharaton hotel. area ve focused while driving for the labor day weekend. their inviting drivers to take a pit stop to enjoy some coffee and conversation with them. am-vets post 218 will be stationed at an i-380 truck stop between iowa city and cedar rapids all weekend. they are selling coffee, cookies, and lemonade there, with the proceeds going to help other veterans. the fundraiser is also promoting highway safety. "one of the main purposes of this was to get people off the road, get them rested up, and take a break, instead of driving through like 8 or 9 or event. they'll be there until monday morning. the multiple gun shots. while police investigated the scene, two people showed up at a local hospital with gun shot wounds. police say the shooting wasn't random. the say the people shot were involved in down the mississippi river. about a week ago, the family was camping at the big h campground, near cassville. they saw the dog struggling in fast moving mississippi waters. the family has no idea how long the beagle was in the water. they say the animal is deaf. a veterinarian couldn't couldn't figure out if flood waters damaged her hearing. the family says the pup is "the night that she came in council says the state has issued 37 beach advisories this year for blue-green algae blooms. the council says the previous record was 34 advisories, last year. it's a growing problem. the dnr issued 185 beach warnings over the last decade. blue-green algae blooms are often fed by fertilizers, livestock waste and other pollution. exposure can cause rashes and majority of americans have an
