Youve made a lifetime out consistently loved grassley back. Since the mid80s, hes won every reelection with more than 60 of the vote. But this woman and her cardboard cutout aim to buck the trend. Senator grassley, weve cast a lot of votes for you. But, your obstruction is responsible for the least effective senate, ever. Patty judge has hammered away at one of the weakest spots in grassleys armor, his refusal to of president obamas pick to replace Late Supreme Court justice antonin scalia. The officer shot jerime mitchell, who is 37 and also goes by the name danky. Police say it happened around 1 15 am when an officer tried to pull mitchell over for a traffic a avenue northeast. Police say mitchell got into some type of altercation with the officer that led to the officer firing his gun, wounding him. Police say mitchell then tried to drive off, but he crashed into an Unmarked Police vehicle and another vehicle nearby. The Police Vehicle overturned, trapping an officer inside. Mitchell is now at university of iowa hospitals in critical condition. And the division of criminal investigation is now looking into the shooting. Us in the studio. Phil, there is no Police Body Cam footage of the incident . At this moment Cedar Rapids Police officers dont wear body cameras. But that is changing after todays city council meeting. City Council Passed a resolution that will let them get a department of justice grant that matches the money they will put up to buy body cameras. That grant is nearly 97 thousand dollars. Chief wayne jerman says the Police Department will get 126 body cameras over the next three years. During incidents like this morning when use of force is involved. Officers will be able to utilize it in the performance of their duties, and they can also assist in the investigation of incidents. The collection of evidence of just videoing the actions of individuals they come into contact with and not just the video portion but also the audio he says he wants his officers to have them on during any interaction with the all of 213 of his officers one day. Dubuque schools say 20 students and Staff Members have come down with the mumps since t the School District asks students to stay home for five days after they experience mumps symptoms because it is commonly spread through coughing and sneezing. Usually by six years of age, students will get two doses of the measles, mumps and rubella or m mr vaccine. But 13 to 15 year olds in dubuque for some reason, have a pretty low rate of immunization.
