And what a dynamic duo akrum wadley and Leshun Daniels have been at running back for the hawkeyes this season. Stay 365 yards against purdue. Scott westerberg has more with iowas 12 punch at running back. At first glance, 225 pounder Leshun Daniels, jr. Looks like the power back and 190 pounder akrum wadley se the speed guy. But those two dont necessarily subscribe to the thunder and lightning nicknames. We dont really buy into it that much. We hear it obviously, but we know that both of us can do whatever is called upon us in a given situation. If akrum has to go in there and get the tough yards, i know that hes going to go in there and do that. If a big play opportunity arises for myself, i know i can also take advantage of that. He might have a few more tools than me. Hes got speed. Were just the same but hes got more power. The two have developed a bit of a rivalry in terms of stats but its all in good fun. After the games we do look at the yards we averaged and scores, but were just trying to do whatever it takes to get the win. If we both go under 50 yards and no one scores but we get the victory, thats all that really matters. Daniels is the hawkeyes starting running back, and wadley uses that to his advantage. I ask him what hes seeing out there. We just talk to each other throughout the game. And with the second ranked Rushing Defense in the big ten coming to town this week, the hawkeyes will need the very best from both backs. In iowa city, Scott Westerberg tv9 sports.
