Staff inspected 60 homes. The flood caused minor damage to about 10 of them. The city inspected 33 commercial properties. The flood minimally impacted 13 of those. Most of the damage was to heating and cooling equipment. The city has also issued 57 permits as of sunday, primarily for utility reconnections. Red cross kits are available for anyone who needs to clean up after flooding in bleach, mops, tarps, and trash bags. In benton county, the kits are available through the county Emergency Management building in vinton. In cedar falls, kits are at fire station number two. And in waverly, cleanup supplies are available at the civic center. And cedar rapids closed its Emergency Shelter at Cedar Hills Community Church today.
