Drivers more fairly, the Airport Commission took its first step to regulate uber and lyft, classifying them as Transportation Network companies, last week. A waterloo man faces Human Trafficking charges. Prosecutors say he come from illinois to waterloo. Lawrence campbell, who is 35, is in the Black Hawk County jail right now. His bond is set at 40 thousand dollars. The charges against him include two counts of Human Trafficking and two counts of using juveniles to commit indictable offenses. Police got a call yesterday about two teenagers shoplifting at a waterloo store. Officers caught the girls, who are both 16. And they told police that campbell paid for bus tickets for them to come and live at this north a better life. Instead the girls say they had to engage in sex acts with others to earn money, and they had to steal clothing to resell. He would have them go out and engage in shoplifting so apparently they could turn around and sell the clothes. The Iowa City Community School District cut classes two hours early today because of heat. Superintendent Stephen Murley made the decision after touring two schools yesterday, and felt some classrooms were too hot for students and teachers to focus.
