" this is such an unpredictable year, i'm going to work up, i've got this schedule... even the monday before the tuesday election. "branstad - it needs to be a delicate balance though cuz obviously we want to improve the minimum wage jobs, but we want to do it in a way that's going to drive small businesses out of business or actually destroy jobs." branstad's comment came this morning during his weekly news conference in des moines. several counties in iowa have increased their minimum wage, including sure those increases are legal under iowa law. the city of cedar rapids always said businesses would have to clean up their own sandbags following the flood. the city never put out a timeline until now. find out about possible fines. businesses the city wants busn kcrg's phil reed joins us in the newbo district? phil, where can businesses drop off their sandbags? there are four spots across the city where you can take them. including this one here at newbo where there are piles of sandbags the city will come and get. the city says it has collected more than six thousand tons of sand for residential places. that left businesses with no choice but to hire help, or hope for volunteers to help. cedar rapids says there is about 10 businesses surrounded by sandbags. and it is not ruling out fining them if they don't remove them soon.
