Its due to a change regarding the collection of the state sales tax from iowas manufacturer s. The change takes effect on july first next year. That iowa manufacturer s have paid on consumable supplies. Those are items they use in the manufacturin g process. The Iowa Department of revenue estimates that will cut ovovall state sales taxax revenue by 40 Million Dollars between 2017 and 2020. Were losing water and we keeee refilling the p pl as needed. And the rest of the pool leaves little to be desired. Its not deep enough for the school to host large swim meets. And theres not much deck space. E. Hats why, last year, the School District announced plans to partner with the city of dubuque to possibly replace this pool with an indoor aquati center. Undedethe proposal, the city would pay for part of the pool project. Dubuque schools planned to use seven Million Dollars from the one cent local options sale tax to fund their half. Not our deadline date because that isnt going to happen i just think the state is doing an inadequate job about getting e word out about these public hearings a dhs spokesperson in des moines pointed out some of the confusion may be the purpose of this public hearing.
